This is a wonderful organization doing community service for the homeless and the hungry. It has built homeless gardens, mounted fire extinguishers at a homeless camp, donated 100's of socks and shoes to a local homeless center, and given out $8 Food Cards from Subway etc to the hungry on the streets. And, it has distributed over 40,000#, 20 tons of food to the low income needy via the United Way and the Federal Housing Authority. Projects like this while it monthly holds Second Saturday Assemblies for the education of members and the public in learning about the future of humanism. Putting a real faith in real people.

Causes: Human Services
Mission: The Mission of the Humanists of West Florida is to facilitate the advancement of humanist thought and action in Pensacola and surrounding areas by interconnecting groups of humanists, atheists, agnostics and non-religious. We will strive for equal participation in government and societal life through building strategic partnerships with other humanist and freethought organizations and with our religious neighbors to advance the greater good of humanity.
Target demographics: the needy who need help.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 100+families with food and the homeless with supplies.
Geographic areas served: the Panhandle of Florida and along the Gulf Coast from Panama City to Biloxi, MS. It is the historical area of West Florida when governed by the Spanish.
Programs: food assistance and shelter assistance.
