Programs: The organization is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals and addressing the issues and problems related to overpopulation of domestic animals by providing shelter and care. The organization worked with various administrative, law enforcement agencies and individuals to identify, locate, and rescue animals that had been abandoned, abused, neglected, or injured. The organization also participated on a limited basis in a coordinated effort with other not-for-profit shelters, or similar organizations, to transfer animals between the facilities, increasing the likelihood that these animals would be adopted. The organization worked to increase the public awareness of the financial, moral, and social burden of pet overpopulation and the humane treatment of animals. The organization arranged for the adoption of animals to suitable individuals and required that adopted animals were spayed or neutered before, or after, being adopted. The organization arranged for euthanasia of animals at the request of the owners and for the euthanasia of animals under their care that were terminally ill, injured, or otherwise not suitable for adoption.
I have loved animals all my life, so volunteering, helping with fence checks, fostering & working on different committees have been very rewarding! Humane Society of Wichita County has many awesome women & men who work together to save many dogs, cats & other animals! These people give so much time, effort & money, but most of all, HEART, to animals who have been abused, abandoned, surrendered, lost & unclaimed! Thank you Humane Society of Wichita County for all you do........You are appreciated!!!!
