What a great organization. The officer was so polite when I called to report my complaint. She responded immediately and my foolish neighbor brought the poor puppy inside. The weather has been so cold and wet this winter. Would definitely call them again.
The Officers that handle the animal complaints at this association are top-notch. Determined, professional with extensive knowledge of the laws that help animals. California is fortunate to have Humane Officers and this Humane Society is fortunate to have two.
Animals are unable to speak up for themselves, which is why so many around the world depend on the tireless work of empathetic humans. These rescued animals who have been the victims of abuse are in desperate need of help.
This organization is dedicated to improving the lives and treatment of animals. The Humane Society Of The Sierra Foothills runs a thrift store and a book store in the town of Auburn, CA to raise monies to help these animals. Every dollar goes to providing animals with medical care, food and a temporary place to stay until a good home is found.
They have a great group of volunteers to make this organization function.
I recommend donating, shopping and/or volunteering any help you can to this organization.

We need MORE non-profits able to do the heavy lifting on animal abuse. This organization is at the top of their league and very well respected. The lives of two nearly dead dogs were saved, thanks to Officer Frieborn. I will always be grateful for their prompt response and will ALWAYS support them to continue their mission. "Kudos" Humane Society, keep up the great work.

So grateful to have this organization in our area. The dedicated volunteers spend endless hours helping recover animals from some of the worst environments. Unfortunately, we still have far too many people and businesses (e.g. puppy mills) abusing and neglecting even the most basic needs of our fury friends. Can't tell you how thankful I am knowing that the Humane Society of The Sierra Foothills are doing their absolute best for these animals.

My family is very grateful for the Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills (HSSF) and their excellent work. As a nonprofit, they perform a much-needed, public benefit service by responding to egregious animal welfare complaints that involve cruelty, abuse, and/or neglect. They recently responded to our concerns and rescued a badly neglected, suffering horse that needed medical attention. It was a difficult situation that required expertise specific to equine health, intricate knowledge of the law, and diplomacy, all of which HSSF handled skillfully for the horse’s well being. As their website describes, HSSF Humane Officers are court-certified and work with owners to resolve animal welfare issues. If cooperation is lacking, HSSF officers fully comply with California laws, take steps necessary to rescue neglected and abused animals from their egregious situations, and will not leave any animals in deplorable conditions. We feel very fortunate to have such a committed animal welfare nonprofit with dedicated professionals working (at no taxpayer cost to us) on behalf of innocent animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Guess What? This group should be closed down....when "humane officers" turn into lawbreakers because they are both $$ motivated and ego maniacs--they need to be stopped. Factual data filed with courts will prove this. There is no oversight on such groups and they have gotten away with it, like many other dubious non profits, for years. Not anymore. Just wait!! It will all be proven--it's all true--don't spend your money on people who ignore the law.

Professional organization with highly skilled humane officers in the field. These individuals are not only dedicated to protecting animals but they have the time and training to investigate animal complaints. I am fortunate to live in Placer County with this much-needed service available.

Great group with an important mission -- Preventing animal abuse and neglect. They also have a wonderful used bookstore in Auburn operated entirely with volunteers. I know my donations are going to the animals and not huge administrative costs and bonuses.
Top-notch organization!! They protect animals from abuse and neglect and helped a slew of animals (and an entire block of neighbors) in Loomis last year. Responsive, professional, and willing to tackle the most difficult abuse situations no matter how large. This is exactly what Placer County's citizens and the animals have needed. I wish them many years of success.
