Mission: The Humane Society of Southern Illinois (HSSI) was founded to help prevent cruelty to all creatures. We focus currently on providing shelter to homeless, orphaned and lost animals, as well as the opportunity to be placed in a responsible, permanent home. HSSI also provides a low cost spay/neuter voucher program that has resulted in the spay/neuter of over 2,500 companion animals since it was founded in 1997.
