Mission: The Humane Society of Sedona (HSS) maximizes our Shelter’s ability to support overcrowded shelters who are at risk of euthanizing healthy and treatable animals while we continue to provide the highest level of adoption care and services to our local community. HSS utilizes a managed intake process where admission to the shelter is scheduled based on the capacity to provide care and a live outcome for all healthy and treatable animals in our community regardless of age, treatable health or treatable behavior condition.
Target demographics: Lost, injured and homeless pets in the area receive basic and additional medical care, and ensure that every animal finds a loving home.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 620 animals
Geographic areas served: Sedona and the Verde Valley in Northern Arizona
Programs: Aside from providing shelter and care for hundreds of lost, injured and forsaken pets every year, our organization provides a myriad of programs and services such as: 1) placement of adoptable animals into permanent homes through the Adoption Program; 2) re-uniting lost pets with their guardians/owners; and 3) administering City/County "Return to Home” impound program, and the City/County Dog Licensing Program.
