I volunteered by walking dogs while in college and this is truly an amazing place. The people who work here truly care for these animals and leave a huge impact on our community. Eventually I went back and adopted an amazing dog that has been in our family going on 3 years now. I can never thank them enough for bringing him into my life!
I have been a volunteer for HSRC for 4 years, a foster for 3, and also recently have foster failed and adopted from HSRC. The employees are outstanding and do everything they can to provide a quality life and residence for those in their care and seek medical attention for all who need it. They are continuing to try and grow and become better and better at what they do. After fostering over 40 dogs, cats, or kittens, I foster failed this past year and adopted Pip (our first from HSRC and pictured). I'm grateful to have such hardworking and caring people in my community.
I've volunteered a few times to walk the dogs and spend some time with them. As soon as you walk in it just feels so welcoming and you can tell everyone there genuinely loves that they do and loves the animals. I've never been there without seeing the employees working hard and loving on the animals every chance they get. One day while walking the dogs I found this little angel named Scruffy that had been turned in as a stray. I absolutely fell in love the moment I saw him and I waited until he was up for adoption and I was there as soon as they opened the doors to adopt him. The process was lovely and they were so helpful and kind. I will forever appreciate those wonderful people and all that they do. They put every ounce of their being into that shelter. Thank you all for what you do and connecting me to my little Scruffy!!
