Will is an example. He was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart disease. Initially, the prognosis was grim. They kept looking for answers and possible treatments, since there was no official diagnosis. HSPR Staff, vets and local community rallied together to get Will the medical care he needed.
Will had heart surgery in Colorado State University and now lives a normal life.
Thanks HSPR for fueling Will’s will to live.
Iniciando la pandemia y estando encerrados en casa necesitábamos mi familia y yo algo que hacer pero queríamos hacer algo que ayudara a la comunidad. Así comenzó nuestra aventura de ser foster pawparents. Al día de hoy 28 perritos han pasado por nuestro hogar. Entre los 28 perritos cuidamos a una perra junto a sus 5 cachorros por varios meses hasta que los cachorros estaban listos para ser adoptados. En diciembre pasado cuidamos a 2 cachorros de 3 días de nacidos. Gracias a Humane Society of Puerto Rico he podido ayudar a muchos perritos y ellos han sido una gran bendición para mi y mi familia.
I adopted 3 dogs in the humane society. I love the work this people do. Is not easy with the big problem we have with dogs and cats overpopulation in Puerto Rico. Thanks Humane Society for your hard work.

Hace varios meses lleve un gato con mucho sangrado por la orina y me enviaron a otra clínica veterinaria privada porque su única veterinaria estaba en licencia maternidad. También hace varias semanas lleve a un puppy para evaluación y vacunas y me dijeron que la veterinaria solo estaría el 13 y 22 de diciembre de 2022. Como es posible que ellos no tengan un plan B para tener siempre un veterinario. Me imagino que el gobierno, entidades y personas que donan lo hacen para que siempre tengan un veterinario. También llené una solicitud de adopción online y fui a las 9:00 am a ver los candidatos disponibles pero me dijeron que tenia que esperar pq estaban atrasados por falta de personal. Luego de ver un puppy fui entrevistado y me pidieron foto de donde iba a dormir el puppy. Le envié foto de mi terraza y patio cercado con portones y rejas y lo envié por email pero nunca me contestaron. Mi pregunta es si este sitio esta bien administrado y si son sin fines de lucro pq no lo parecen. Tampoco contestan el teléfono.
Hoy fui a esterilizar y vacunar a mi perro labrador retriever y quiero decir que termine super decepcionado y enojado por el trato recibido de la mujer con el pelo rubio, no logre sacarle el nombre pero confíen que si lo conseguía lo ponía! La doctora de rubio desde que llegamos nos trato con unas actitudes muy feas y no nos quiso brindar la ayuda ni la información que necesitábamos, ella contestaba con mala actitud todas las preguntas que se le hacia y no mostraba interés en ayudar. Dejamos el perro a las 8am para recogerlo a las 3pm y después de hacer una fila para recogerlo y ver como ella le daba la información completa sobre como ayudar al perro durante los 10 dias de recuperación a los demas, cuando fue a nosotros a entregarnos el perro ella literalmente nos lo soltó a lo loco y ni si quiera nos dijo nada, solo que el perro lo mordió y yo en mi mente “quien te manda por malcria!”.
Y como si fuese suficiente el perro cuando lo recibi tenia las dos pupilas ultra inflamadas y la doctora de rubio que era la que nos estaba atendiendo NO NOS INFORMO SOBRE ESO NI NOS AYUDO y cuando se lo mencione literalmente me IGNORO hasta que nosotros fuimos hasta la oficina a preguntar desesperados sobre eso.
Lo único bueno que puedo decir sobre este sitio es la doctora que atendió al perro (doctora hernandez) que ella cuando fuimos a preguntar en el momento sobre la situación del perro aunque ella no se encontrase presente en ese momento en la oficina ella personalmente nos llamo y nos REGALO una medicina para el perro encontrándonos en un punto medio con una de sus empleadas. Estoy super agradecido con ella y que al menos de toda esta historia ella sea lo unico positivo y la única que nos haya querido ayudar.
Espero que se tome accion contra esta mujer porque estoy 100% que NADIE le agradaría semejante trato hacia tu mascota que es básicamente tu compañero de vida.♂️
Y no solo eso, habia un señor mayor de edad que tambien llevaba desde demasiado temprano esperando para entregar a su perro para que cuando el hable con la muchacha de rubio le dijo que no tenia en papel impreso y que no puede hacer nada por el♂️

The Humane Society is making a difference in Puerto Rico .. They have a very good program of sterilization, foster homes, education, vaccination in all parts of the island. They also have a good group of trained volunteers to help be more effective .. They definitely are the best in PR and are making a difference ..
Their services at their clinic is as espected. Very organize organization and their low fares clinic are great for people as me that loves my pets and lost my job a year ago. The personnel and their organize work are top.
The love for the animals is so big, that they have zero tolerance for human that don't treat there animals correctly. They will teach a person the correct way of treating the animal with love and understanding. That the human don't realize they just been trained. The area is always clean have been going for over 7 years now, and recommend the place to everyone.
This organization is really important here in PR. I go to this place since 2005 because I have a dog named Sipi. Because of this organization I can have a dog because the costs of everything (vitamins, "vacunas", etc.) is much more economic than in a private veterinarian. I hope this organization can grow more because not only help the dogs that visit the place with their owners, they helps too the dogs that doesn't have a home and that is very important.
I have adopted several if my pets and so has my family. And we have the best pets in the world. They are healthy lOving family members! The staff and volunteers are superexcellent!!
Esta sociedad ayuda mucho a los animalitos que muchas personas abandonan y maltratan, dándoles un lugar en donde vivir, dormir, buscándole hogares, dándole medicinas entre otras muchas cosas para el bienestar de los animalitos.
He visitado las facilidades para servicios medicos a mis perritos, ha sido muy eficiente y efectivo.
My pets receive their care at the HSPR. They've received an awesome care and the employees there care of them as their own.Also, they gave me the orientation for the best interest of my beloved cats.The Vet was so helpful and caring and I felt the love for all pets on the days I was there.I truly recommend HSPR for their employees humanity,love and care of every animal on the shelter and the daily visitors.I' m so grateful.
Excellent service, excellent staff!! The problem of animal overpopulation in Puerto Rico is horrible! We need more organizations like these to help the animals in need. Our government is not really animal friendly and does not take matters into their own hands!
the time my class and I spent in the place was very nice, and we all felt good, because we did it to for a cause, and this was to help and organization keep animals from the streets and take care of them. I felt very good and happy.
I bring my dog here every year to get her shots because there they are much more affordable than a regular vet clinic. Additionally, my dog has a hereditary skin disease and the vets in this place have been very helpful. They always have answers to our questions. I am planning on going soon to get a new dog; a new addition to the family!
I pased a incredible experience with this animals because I noticed that they were very happy. The employees are very amiable.
My story began when my group of 10grade students of Colegio Radians came to donate special equipement to the organization. We also helped them by watching and taking care of the mistreated animals that were in this organization. We realized the importance it is to have and protect your pet from diseases. I had an amazing experience in this society and I know my partners did, too.

They are consistenly helping people to be responsable with their pets and supporting animals Who are neglected and giving new chances to Have a new life , they Bring us information and make us to be a better owners for our pets!!! They promote adoptions and sterilization to mantain animal control and wellness !!!
