I have been a Humane Society of Del Norte volunteer for 12 years. I have been on the HSDN board for over 10 years. I have fostered kittens and adopted 3 cats. I am proud to be a part of a small team that works so very hard for our community and the animals here. We are a cat shelter and work very hard to provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment for the cats in our care. We also have the only low cost spay/neuter program (for cats & dogs) in our county. We volunteer at our local dog pound and have started the Prison Paws Partnership dog training program (pairing homeless dogs with incarcerated men) at Pelican Bay State Prison!

In the past four years, the Humane Society of D.N. has really stepped up thier game. They have helped alter over 4000 cats and dogs in Del Norte County and surrounding areas. The cat shelter has improved greatly. The resident cats seem to be happier, healthier, and are being adopted out to wonderful homes. Their collaberation with local animal control seems to have helped our the dogs as well. They are being socialized as part of a volunteer program the HSDN and Animal control drafted together. It is a wonderful program to be a part of.
