Has not euphenized a healthy dog in over 3 years. Taking in animals from outside our county. Continuing to grow and help numerous helpless animals in so many ways. Need more $ to help even more.

The Humane Society of Berks has taken innovation in animal care services to another level. By providing on site vet services, meals on wheels for pets, and even foster care for pets of deployed military personnel, they have ushered in a new era for animals. Well done Humane Society!!!!!!

Even before I became a board member, I was impressed by the Humane Society of Berks County. The staff is well-trained and professional and they always go above and beyond to help people and their animals. I have been taking my elderly arthritic dog for acupuncture for three years and the change in his quality of life is dramatic. He enjoys walking again and even runs and plays with his 3 year old sister. The holistic vet care available at the Humane Society has made a huge impact on my life and the life of my pets. Then, there are the events...the Art Auction, Pints for Pups, Walktoberfest, Furry Fridays. These events are amazing...not only do they raise funds for the benefit of people and their animals, but they are the best run events in Berks County. HSBC events are always incredibly fun and unique. Our upcoming art auction has a "pup art" theme. The staff and volunteers at the Humane Society never cease to amaze me with the high caliber events that they hold. And last, but not least, is the new dog park. My dogs have so much fun every time they go there. It is so important for us to socialize our dogs and the Ruiz-Murphy Dog Park and Equine Center is the perfect place to exercise your dog.

I have nothing but the highest praise for EVERYONE at the Humane Society of Berks County. Their love and respect for animals in need shows in everything they do. Before our 8 year old Yorkie, Chessie became ours, she was left at the HSBC ungroomed; she had not been spayed; and she had mammary tumors that needed to be removed. The HSBC took excellent care of her and now we have a happy, healthy and most loving little dog. Please consider adopting a shelter dog, you will not be disappointed!

My rewarding experience with the HSBC spans three years of being involved with its growth from one location to three prominent sites where animals are cared for. The organization has kindled community awareness through educational site visits and spectacular social events, such as the Annual Walkathon, Pints for Pups and Art for Arf's Sake Art Auction. The staff is a well trained, well organized group of caring, professionals who are well-versed in accepted and innovative animal welfare practices, as well as the regulations and laws governing animal welfare. And on top of it all, the staff is a load of fun. It's a pleasure and honor to be associated with the HSBC.

The Humane Society of Berks County is a superb organization that cares lovingly for pets that need new homes. I adopted two very old cats from them who brought joy and wisdom into my life; two cats who would not have been given a chance to live anywhere else. As a volunteer, I see the "inside" workings of staff members who, despite their many responsibilities, keep their focus centered on expert care and kindness toward the pets in their facility. The many programs and practices of the HSBC are innovative, bringing in community which encourages adoptions. If a pet has to spend some time in a "shelter," this is the place to receive the best care possible while waiting for a new home.

The Humane Society of Berks County is a wonderful organization that provides a needed service to the community. The staff are professional, friendly and experts in animal welfare.
The HSBC is a true leader in animal welfare offering innovative services, veterinary care and just recently opened a dog park and equine rescue center. The dog and cat adoption rooms are top notch and should be an inspiration to all shelters.
I am proud to be a volunteer and to support their efforts.

I love the Humane Society of Berks County! The staff is professional, knowledgable, and very caring. The facility is clean and well-managed by staff and volunteers. This facility exudes class. The animals are in the hands of people who care and strive to be sure they are safe, healthy and adoptable. When visiting the HSBC, you get the full attention of a staff member, who knows the animals personally and works to pair them with a family who is right for them. Our family includes 5 wonderful cats! I ENJOY donating to an organization with such enthusiasm and drive toward making both animals and people happy. Their fundraising events are fantastic, quality events which bring a great awareness of animal welfare to the community. They set a high standard for animal shelters!

I have two wonderful additions to my family thanks to the HSBC. It
was very easy to adopt them with the help from everyone there.
I have even started taking them for their yearly Vet visits to the new
clinicat the Reading location.
Many possitive things have happened to the County thanks to the HSBC.
the dog park and the large animal rescue are a great addition.
I am hoping that soon they will also be able to add a dog park in the Sinking Spring area to the list.

Several years ago I adopted my dog from the Humane Society of Berks County. At the time she had been there for several months without being adopted because if some health issues that she had that were related with her being a stray. The Humane Society gave her great care and time to heal, which allowed her to eventually become a happy part of our family. Other organizations might have decided to forgo the cost of care and the time it took to find a loving home, but not the HSBC. Their commitment to animals of all kinds in all conditions is really amazing and commendable.

As a newly elected board member of the Humane Society of Berks County, I am thrilled to begin serving in a more integral way to support this fine organization. Having served as a volunteer with the organization for events during the past 4 years, I am pleased to now be able to extend my support of the important work this organization conducts. The HSBC is focused on it's core mission to provide for the welfare of animals. This is demonstrated in every way possible, through the support of animals via adoption and vetinary services as well as the extended events to raise awareness about the organization and educate the community to provide for the welfare of animals. This organization receives no money from the local or county government and is 100% self sustaining. Therefore, the fundraising that is conducted is vital to the success of this organization. I believe that the staff, volunteers and leadership of this organization have "all the right stuff", a nice community of caring, dedicated people who are focused on their mission to provide for animals in need, educate the community and enhance the local area by serving as a place to care for animals.

the HUmane Society does an unbelievable job in supporting the county and its residents. From vet services, to rescue to animal rights advocacy, the Humane Society of Berks is a premier organization. Its staff are wonderful and caring. The outreach and dog park hae provided Berks County with the first resource of its kind.
I am proud to be associated with this group and know that others would benefit from engaging in the organization's Furry Fridays and other evens.
I know many people who have adopted animals or been educated through the Humane Society.

I am proud to be a donor at the Humane Society of Berks County. The organization is forward thinking and creative to their approach of animal welfare. One of the reasons I continue to donate to their cause is due to the fact that it is evident that every cent the HSBC recieves is used to better the lives of the animals it serves.

The HSBC is a wonderful organization dedicated to animal welfare. They are also equally committed to educating the public and uniting fellow animal lovers. From the numerous outreach events to the kennel improvements, HSBC is light years ahead of other similar organizations. I have personally adopted two dogs from their Reading facility (in 2007 and 2009) and have received amazing vet services since that time. I couldn't be happier to know that this type of operation is available in our community. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to my "children" (Haley and Belle).

I went to the Humane Society of Berks County in search for a new friend and was pleasantly surprised at what I found. The facility is clean and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This is an organization that is run with true care. I came home with the best, healthiest little kitty and she refuses to go anywhere else for her regular checkups.

The Humane Society of Berks County is one of the most thoughtful organizations I have ever encountered. From the facilities that include an absolutely gorgeous cat room to their brand new dog park, the HSBC always puts pets and their people first. Few organizations can match the level of high quality communication provided by the HSBC through their e-newsletters and website. I always know what is going on and am always delighted to hear the news of the good work that happens there each and every day.
