Programs: Hult Center for Healthy Living promotes healthy lifestyles in our community using exciting and memorable learning experiences. Through community support, the Center provides unique interactive education programs offering choices leading to a stronger, healthier quality of life.
Health education comes alive in our five spacious theaters. Participants see and hear larger-than-life electronic displays, audio-visual presentations, and interactive models that can be explored. Multi-sensory input improves retention of material in this exciting, most unique resource in central Illinois, one of only a few such facilities in the Midwest. In addition to programs taught at the Center, we also offer programs that can be taught at your school.
The Seniors Program through the Hult Center for Health Education is designed to provide education and health screening services to the senior population in six counties: Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Stark and Fulton. The Central Illinois Agency on Aging has helped to provide two components to the program: (1) Seniors On The Go – monthly seminars held at the Hult Center (April – December) and (2) Outreach presentations to senior groups and senior lunch sites in each of the counties. In addition, we host an annual senior health fair each March which is attended by more than 400 seniors.
Kids Konnected provides compassion, support, friendship, and learning for kids, ages 5-18, whose lives are touched by a parent or caregiver with cancer. Kids Konnected is a free program offered by the Hult Center for Health Education and is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Peoria Memorial Affiliate.
