We are a large prime contractor that has utilized the support provided by this council to help us reach small businesses that have capabilities that align to our subcontracting needs. Michelle and the council organized a special outreach event for us to meet targeted small businesses with specific capabilities and connect them to our business partnering decision makers. The event was highly successful and very well organized. Our discussions were meaningful in that the participating companies were viable to our needs.
The council also hosts an annual conference the provides excellent training sessions, discussion opportunities for small businesses to connect with large primes and government customers, and general overall support.
As a HUBZone company we need a platform to share our story. The HUBZone Contractors National Council holds several conferences where we can meet with decision makers. At a recent conference one of our existing customers shared with an International Life Science company how well we took care of them with quick follow up, great pricing and reliable delivery. The next week the International Life Science company sent a request to set us up in their system and we had got our first PO within 3 weeks of the conference.
By helping grow our business we hire economically disadvantage workers and give them good pay, benefits and a stable workplace which builds a stronger economic future for the neighborhood we are located in.
This happens because the HUBZone Council supports our ability to share the story with introductions that make a difference to the underutilized workers in economically disadvantage areas of America. Thank you for all your support and hard work!!
"The Hubzone Contractors National Council Inc., has accomplished an incredible business and legislative advocacy on behalf of their small business members nationwide. Their untiring legislative efforts have set the stage to help small businesses in economically-challenged towns, cities and rural areas in every state."
I met Michelle on a virtual meeting session last October. I have reached out to her quite often and she always ready to assist. I really thought HUBZone and HUBZone Contractors Nation Council was one of the same. Michelle was there to answer my questions. At no point did Michelle let me know it was a paid service and I needed to pay for her services. She continues to assist me until on May, I clicked on her website link and I was not able to login. I called her to let her know that I could not access her site, and I had to pay. She said it is a paid member's site.
I was floored since I have called her zillion times and she always helped. I joined immediately, after I realized it was a paid membership. That HUBZone was separate from HCNC.
I had to do match making recently for some reason I could not sign up. I thought I had missed my opportunity and sent Michelle an email but it was still in draft. I emailed Michelle at 10:30 that night When I got up the next morning, I rec’d an email from Michelle stating she had gone ahead and set up some matchmaking for me. I had the best line up. The Business Specialist that I met was so awesome. It was the best 10 min-Matchmaking experience. This organization get an A+++ and is worth every dollar and more.
The info, service and resources are by far the best I have experienced in government contracting consultant. Michelle will do anything for everyone either you are a member or not. It’s not about the membership, she truly is about helping small disadvantage business.
I encourage all small businesses, HUBZone and others to considering becoming a member. It would be a great investment. Michelle is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn about government contracting.
The HUBZone Contractors National Council, and the amazing Executive Director Michelle Burnett have worked tirelessly to support HUBZone businesses and ensure their capabilities are well socialized within the large business prime contracting space. Michelle Burnette ceaselessly leads proactive engagement with large businesses that goes above and beyond by supporting industry/matchmaking events specific for large business needs. Further, the council engages in timely and thorough communication that supports planning for these efforts. Michelle has a true passion for her work, and is quick to respond to any queries we have on small businesses that can support specific efforts - which helps get their names in front of decision makers in a prompt fashion. My experience supporting a large business prime knows that her dedication to support us gives these small businesses associated with the council greater opportunities. Finally, Michelle has great knowledge and insight due to her professional relationships with HUBZone small businesses which leads to great results when pairing prime contractors with small businesses during matchmaking sessions.
The HUBZone Contractors National Council, Inc. is deeply rooted in the shaping of policy and legislation supporting the HUBZone Program. The Council not only supports HUBZone businesses, but seeks insight from industry and Government to ensure that new policy and legislation is shaped in a manner to maximize support. Upon legislative changes, the council further educates industry and HUBZone businesses on the changes. This council goes above and beyond to support HUBZone Small Business needs, in support of the Federal Government.
I have been a member of the HUBZone Council almost since it's inception. I have always been able to rely on the commitment of each Director that has provided leadership for the council. Whether we request assistance in government policy, program regulation updates, assistance with marketing or general program questions we get timely answers. Aside from just informational resources and government advocacy, the Council provides measurable opportunity to network with government agencies as well as other businesses. They understand the process of growing a business.
Michelle Burnett and her team have been an incredible and reliable resource for us - combining education, advice and encouragement along the path to HUBZone certification and recertification. We receive prompt and informed responses to our inquiries, and the depth and detail of the counseling have enabled us to build a robust and compliant program.
Five years ago I was hired by my firm as their Director of HUBZone Operations. It was a new position and there was no one to guide me. I was tasked to get the company HUBZone Certified. Gad it not been for your tireless assistance I do not believe that I would have succeeded.
You wee always there whenever I had a question on how to proceed to make it happen and now that we have been certified for a number of yeas, you have always been there whenever a new question or concern comes up.
Thank you,
Stanton Pratt
The HUBZone Contractors National Council has consistently provided one of the best platforms out there for small, HUBZone companies looking to grow in the Federal marketspace! They provide an abundance of information, connectivity and are committed to supporting the needs of underserviced areas through the program. I encourage all small, HUBZone and other's to considering becoming a member. It would be a great investment.

The HUBZone Council has helped our company in so many great ways. They have always been there to answer questions and to provide specific guidance to help us succeed. I would recommend becoming a member of the HUBZone Council to anyone who is considering applying for their certification or to any company who wants a strong advocate for their HUBZone business.
As a new HubZone certified company, we are learning our way in this new space. The HubZone Contractors National Council provide small, emerging companies a fast on-ramp to locate and access resources and networks critical to our growth.
The HUBZone Contractors National Council, and Michelle Burnett in particular, provided us with incredible support as we navigated through a recent HUBZone continuous certification issue that proved invaluable. The Council was extremely helpful, available, insightful and supportive throughout the process and was an awesome advocate for our position. We are forever grateful and appreciative. Thanks to Michelle and the Council.
Navigating the ever-changing rules and regulations of Federal HUBZone compliance can be daunting and one wrong interpretation can undo years of effort. Fortunately, the Executive Director of the HUB Zone Council is always available to connect resources, listen, and answer questions. The HUB Zone Contractors National Council does a terrific job of advocacy for its members, conducts its business with class and highlights the many wonderful stories that come from dedication to the HUB Zone program.
a great not for profit organization which I'm a member of since 2006-2007. A true leadership and very committed board work tirelessly for the HUBZone program which in reality works for community. Beauty of HUBZone program, which is not working for an individual benefit, but it is working for the true development and integration of the communities. I have been a part of more than dozens not for profit organizations and am affiliated with many more, HUBzone Contractors National Council (HCNC) is the best.
Excellent, professional organization with a wide network. Takes great care to serve members and provides helpful advice, assistance, information, advocacy, and support.
This Council is largely responsible for growing the HUBZone program, working with Congress and federal agencies to ease regulations with respect to this program and advocating for more contract awards to these businesses located in underserved areas. The Council is extremely helpful to its members and well respected among federal buyers.
