The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) holds a special place in my heart, and as a Hispanic myself, I'm deeply passionate about supporting the success of other Latinos. I firmly believe that education is a powerful catalyst for upward mobility and positive change within our community, and HSF provides a crucial pathway to higher education for countless Hispanic students.
Amazing programs and collaborations for future Hispanic leaders. Great team of volunteers and staff who build relationships with students. The HSF team goes above and beyond to support their students goals. As a newly selected HSF scholar, I felt very welcomed and encouraged to continue working towards my career goals. Can’t thank the HSF team enough for their dedication.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund provided an invaluable experience in my professional and personal life. Not only do they provide scholarships, but they host leadership summits, conferences, career services, and internship opportunities for outstanding students. I was invited to their 2024 Media and Entertainment Summit where I met many enthusiastic and wonderful students and professionals who prepared me for my future. I can't express my thanks enough to the HSF staff that organized the event; their efforts to help the Hispanic leaders of tomorrow are huge and appreciated!
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) has been a life-changing organization for me and my family. Their mission to increase college access and success for Hispanic communities isn’t just words on paper—it’s something you truly feel in every interaction with them.
One of the most impactful experiences for me was attending their conferences. These events were not only inspiring but also packed with practical resources and invaluable connections. I walked away feeling empowered, supported, and ready to tackle my academic and career goals. The sense of community at these gatherings is something I’ll never forget.
What really sets HSF apart, though, is their exceptional staff and leadership. Every person I’ve interacted with genuinely cares about students and their success. They go above and beyond to ensure we have everything we need, from financial support to mentorship and encouragement. Their passion is contagious, and their belief in us is incredibly motivating.
I’m so grateful for the opportunities HSF has given me, and I can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking for an organization that truly makes a difference. Five stars doesn’t even begin to describe how much HSF has meant to me!
I am truly impressed by how HSF goes beyond just financial support. Unlike many other scholarship organizations, they focus on developing their scholars’ life skills and real-world business acumen. They embody the wisdom of the saying, “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.”
Their LUNA event in Philadelphia provided great opportunity to Network with multigenerational talent. It was a great experience.
I have been involved with HSF since my junior year of high school. I have participated in the Youth Leadership Institute (as both a mentor for two consecutive years and a scholar), the National Leadership Conference (NLC), and various networking events such as LUNA. Now, as a rising junior at Harvard University, I can attribute much of my success to my involvement with HSF. It gave me the confidence to apply to the nation's top colleges, provided me with the resources to thrive both professionally as well as academically on my college campus, and allowed me to expand my network while forming lifelong friendships with like-minded individuals. I am proud to be part of HSF and hope to continue contributing to its mission of empowering courageous leaders.
I recently attended the Hispanic Scholarship Fund's Youth leadership Institute and I can say it was a very rewarding experience. The conference would not be possible without it's amazing Mentors and Mentors in Trainings. Although the sessions and workshops are also very beneficial, I feel like the students learn the most through the networking time and talking with their mentors. While the conference is short, you can truly see the students grow in their confidence about the college application process and their abilities to attend highly selective institutions. Being a mentor is a volunteer position that is a huge commitment time wise and effort, however is something I would do again for multiple years to continue HSF's impact on future generations of Latino Leaders in Training.
All the staff and the community the bring together are absolutely amazing. Both programs I’ve been part of have been run professionally and smoothly. Email communication is efficient and everyone is extremely helpful. Thankful for all they do.
Great communication, transparency, and honest values directly from the CEO/Director, Fidel, I have been an HSF scholar since attending YLI in 2019 and cannot speak more appreciation to this organization. SI SE PUEDE! Isa
As an HSF Alumni and a current member of the Advisory Council, I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable impact of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund over more than a decade in the professional world. HSF stands out not only for its commitment to empowering courageous leaders through scholarships but also through its comprehensive programming and conferences designed for students, parents, scholars, alumni, and partners.
HSF's communication and organizational skills are unparalleled, especially for a team of less than 100 people. Their technological platform is a testament to their efficiency, managing close to 2 million unique profiles and producing an impressive array of programs—123 to be precise. Their approach to feedback is exemplary; with surveys immediately following events or meetings, HSF ensures they continuously evolve and improve, always looking to exceed expectations.
Their direct outreach and follow-up efforts to keep students, scholars, parents, and partners engaged are commendable. HSF's scope goes beyond academic support, offering top-notch career services, mentorship, coaching, leadership development, wellness, and financial literacy programs. This holistic approach underlines their mission to empower and support leaders throughout their journey.
What truly sets HSF apart is the genuine, approachable nature of everyone involved. They live by their mission to empower courageous leaders, reinforcing their pillars of support and ensuring that each individual they touch continues on their leadership path with HSF's backing.
The dedication, organization, and impact of HSF are genuinely inspiring. I am excited to see how they will continue to innovate and uplift communities. It is an honor to be part of an organization that makes such a profound difference in the lives of so many, and I eagerly await to witness the future leaders they will undoubtedly shape.
I attended the virtual 2024 Entrepreneurship Summit, a valuable experience I had. I met many other scholars last weekend and gained many insights. I look forward to the in-person component and engaging with the services throughout my career. I recommend that everyone who is Hispanic apply to become an HSF Scholar!
HSF has helped me so much throughout my journey of education. They took stress off my shoulders by helping me plan and prepare for college. Super grateful for the opportunities they have given me!
This is an amazing non-profit. As a participant of the 2023 HSF Youth Leadership Institute at the University of Southern California, I can say their programs provide students with the resources to succeed in college and beyond. Their speakers at the panels were inspiring and very informational. I also connected with like-minded peers and felt a sense of community. Being an HSF Scholar has made me feel more prepared for the college application process and my pursuits post-graduation.
Very informative. Room for improvement, but an incredible one-of-kind initiative for ambitious latino students hoping to break into higher education.
Made college prep accessible and raised everyone's self-confidence in applying, for those who attended their Youth Leadership Institute. They paid for everything, and changed the direction of my education and career forever. Will definitely become a constant donor once I finish education and get a stable career (they gave lots of advice in that department as well).
On behalf of American Express, I was honored to present the closing remarks at the 2023 Youth Leadership event in Chicago. The organization of 200+ high school seniors at the University of Chicago over the July 4th weekend was tremendous. It was evident to me in the small amount of time I had with the HSF staff and student scholars that life-changing connections were being made for these future leaders!
I was able to gain not only critical information needed for the college application process, but I was also given the help from fellow mentors and staff that I am sure will last me a life time !
I recently completed the HSF Virtual NLC 2023. The National Leadership Conference provided me with the tools, resources and confidence to ace job interviews, create a compelling resume and create a new narrative for the Latino community. As a first-generation low income student, I am very grateful for their guidance.
I participated in the HSF 2023 Healthcare Summit in January and it was gratifying to partake in such an event. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is a great nonprofit that focuses on providing the best opportunities and support to its scholars. For me, the foundation has helped me prepare for college and has given me the opportunity to connect with other scholars that what to change the world for the better. HSF is not just a nonprofit, but a family that will always support and encourgae you to pursue your dreams. Thank you HSF!
I participated in the HSF Youth Leadership Institute 2022 and loved it! I have gained an invaluable network and essential skills that I will continue to use in college. Thank you HSF for all you do!
The HSF Staff, Mentors, Administrators, and Guest Speakers all work collaborative to make this nonprofit the best experience for its students. They always make their sessions accessible and encourage all to take use in their wealth of knowledge. HSF has opened doors of opportunity for many and have given invaluable skills, information, and networks that will stay with its students for the rest of their life.
This foundation helped me really understand how to apply to college and have the confidence to know I will end up where I belong and at a top university. They have helped me so much!
This foundation has helped me prepare and have the confidence to apply at prestigious universities and get accepted. Thank you!
We went to the college camp and it was a great experience! HSF did a great job summarizing all the information my daughter and I needed to know for college applications. They did it in a couple of hours, bilingual, and free of charge. I recommend all families to attend the camp in person or virtually because it was really helpful. Thank you, HSF!
The process to apply is needlessly tedious and long-winded. Instead of letting applicants know up-front what needs to be submitted via a checklist on the application portal, they instead let you know periodically that you have new things that need to be done. Despite doing everything by the deadline for months (from January through December), I missed the last deadline, which was apparently just to accept being selected as a scholar. I don't understand why accepting is a necessary last step, when clearly if I applied and I went through all the other steps, I want to be a scholar. So after all that, I am no longer eligible. I just wish that they made it more clear up-front what needs to be done to complete your application/profile. Why does it need to be dragged out over months? I assume it's their way of weeding people out, which I don't think is fair. Honestly, don't waste your time, because all that is just to be a scholar--it doesn't even guarantee you a scholarship. Apply to other scholarships that are more straightforward.
Ever since I was selected to be an HSF scholar in March 2020, I was awarded opportunities to grow my network with lifelong friends and inspirations through being a Media & Entertainment Summit Scholar (Fall 2020) and M&E Mentor (Fall 2022). The staff at HSF have been welcoming since the virtual components of the HSF summits and being able to meet them in person was amazing. I couldn't have grown my confidence and experience in the PR, media, and social media industry without the entire nonprofit's help and advice!
I have been involved with HSF since my senior year of high school, and as a result of the HSF Scholar designation, I have not only received scholarship money to help alleviate the costs of tuition, but I was also generously sponsored to attend L'Attitude a truly life-changing conference where I met impressive scholars and professionals while hearing from the leaders in business, politics, and entertainment. With all my heart, I recommend HSF to all Latinx identifying students, regardless of their professional interests, and I encourage professionals to support HSF in any way they can!
The HSF has made it its mission to help Latino students enroll and graduate college. The organization provides mentors, learning opportunities, exposure to great leaders and the ability to network. It is an honor to contribute to this organization.
This was an amazing meeting and I was able to learn so much so I appreciate you all so so very much and I look forward to using their resources and help to get me where I want to be in the future
HSF is the best non-profit I have worked with. To see the way they invest in students is remarkable, and after speaking with several of them, you can immediate tell the profound impact this organization has made.
HSF is such an authentic organization not just in the services it provides to rising Hispanic scholars but the care they have to ensure that process is filled with support and encouragement. Having attended one of HSF's conferences during this summer, I have seen how much tools they want to help ensure are accessible for scholars, and that this continues in the future. I 100% recommend anyone eligible to be a part of their programming.
I attended the National Leadership Conference organized by HSF and it was a wonderful and rewarding experience. I met so many excellent and self-driven students in the conference and I felt a strong sense of community and support from them and the HSF graduates and staff. I also learned how to network properly and was able to practice for interviews as well as review my resume and LinkedIn which are important elements when applying for internships and jobs. I am also a recipient of one of HSF's scholarships which I appreciate a lot. Thank you HSF team for all that you do!
HSF is an incredible organization providing students with resources to reach their goals while helping their communities. The HSF organization has had a deep impact in my life, and have helped me in my career, academically, and more. Moreover, they have inspired me to continue to strive for the betterment of my society and myself. Thank you HSF!
HSF is an outstanding organization that has laid the foundation for my future. I would not be where I am today without all their immense help and support. I am truly thankful for their generous assistance throughout my college application process as a clueless first-generation student. Thank you!
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is an absolutely amazing non-profit that provides great activities and funding for high-achieving Hispanic students across the U.S. I personally had the pleasure to attend the HSF Youth Leadership Institute last summer, where I learned so much about the college application process, connected with my Hispanic peers, and conversed with prominent Hispanic leaders across the country. All of the programming opportunities through HSF have truly changed my life, and I cannot be more grateful for HSF!
The HSF Youth Leadership Institute is an excellent program where I learned plenty about the college process. It made me feel much more secure about my future after attending only two days. They taught us so much and in exciting ways by having helpful speakers and interactive discussions.
I participated in this nonprofit program as a high school junior and I loved it! I learned extremely valuable information about scholarships, financial aid, essays, and more. All the speakers and staff were so kind and informative. The mentors and other students were so supportive and upbeat. I am so grateful for this opportunity and would definitely recommend this program to all students. I look forward to supporting this nonprofit in the future!
I attended the YlI'22 Virtual component. I had a fantastic experience in which I learned about the college admissions process and was introduced to some very energetic people who I hope to connect with this summer!
HSF is a great organization that has helped me feel confident in my journey to attend college. Without HSF, I would feel nervous in my academic abilities and be troubled by the future ahead of me. Thank you so much HSF! Please never stop helping others like me!
Very informative and excellent in making me feel more confident and prepared in my college admissions process! Thank you HSF!
I have built valuable connection and learned so much about education and employment. Every encounter with HSF has make me feel more confident and reinvigorates my dedication to education. I am truly thankful to be an HSF Scholar!
I attended the HSF Youth Leadership Institute (YLI), which consisted of a week of virtual zoom sessions that provided me with so much knowledge and inspiration regarding the college application process. I gained confidence and also formed life-lasting connections with others who are just as enthusiastic as me on achieving our own version of success. I also attended an in-person event, which was also such a great experience. I highly recommend you to join HSF :)

HSF has been an amazing support system for me to continue higher education and get closer to reaching my goals. It is full of people that care about you and want you to succeed through empowering its scholars through education, career opportunities, and building positive relationships with others. I am so proud to be an HSF scholar and part of a community that is doing amazing and important work for the future.
As a first-generation undergraduate student interested in STEM, I have been exposed to an exceptional level of service and professional support as a scholar of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). By engaging with seasoned professionals in this leadership and career preparatory workshops sponsored by HSF and its generous partners, I learned vital skills in preparing for formal job interviews, mentorship, alumni, and internship opportunities, in order to increase my level of academic and professional success. I recommend the HSF to all students eligible to apply for this life-changing program.
This is a WONDERFUL organization doing great & NECESSARY work! In a time when people of color are still demonized, the HSF recognizes the contributions, the potential, and the rightful place Latinos across the spectrum own and have ALWAYS had in the United States!
HSF is a game changer. They allowed me to discover my passion and how to use my network to learn from every opportunity.

Since attending the Youth Leadership Institute in 2017 and becoming an HSF Scholar, I have gained meaningful connections and experiences through the organization. HSF has inspired me to define the minority narrative and to chase my dreams and endeavors no matter how big they may seem. I am so inspired to become a world champion, make it to a top tier university, become a news anchor, make it to Time Magazine, and make it to the Academy Awards because of the HSF Familia and network. HSF has given me the Latinx family that I need to continue pursing my passions regardless of whatever odds I'm going against. They value me for my character and not by my background. HSF represents everything that I advocate for and inspires me to change the minority narrative and change the way people view minorities in this country. That is what I am going to do till the very end!
My experience as a HSF scholar has been life-changing. I encourage all latinx students to apply despite where you are located or how slim the odds look. I was able to attend the Media and Entertainment Summit 2021 through zoom and it made me more mindful of myself in professional settings and everyday life. They help you in all ways in your journey to success. Truly an organization which cares deeply about its cause.
I have been an HSF Scholar for the past 3 years and was so fortunate to receive a scholarship to support me in college and attend the HSF STEM Summit which has given me valuable information that will help me achieve my future goals.
The experience that HSF provided me with their YLI program felt unreal and extraordinary. They are organized, supportive, and prepared to deliver the best possible resources and guidance to their HSF Scholars. I feel honored to have been a part of something so special, and I am beyond proud to even be able to write a review for them. HSF is incredible!!
HSF has changed my life. Due to an incredible experience at their Youth leadership Institute, I now feel empowered and capable to apply and get accepted to my dream colleges and careers. HSF is made up of such empowering and supportive mentors who always have our back and want to help us in any way they can. Thank you for everything.
I originally disregarded the invitation I received to apply for the YLI, cataloging it as the usual too-good-to-be-true junk mail. However, as I've gotten more involved with HSF over the years since -- I've now received the scholarship twice and attended the 2021 NLC -- I've realized that HSF is somehow both too good to be true, yet true nevertheless!
The sheer number of generous scholarships they hand out every year is mind-boggling, and the NLC, billed to be a "life-altering experience," was nothing short of that. At the NLC itself, HSF was undeterred by the additional challenges that a Zoom conference presents. In four short days, they put up a stellar lineup of speakers, made no unforced technical errors, and still managed to jumpstart real community-building among the participants. And I don't even have space to go into the top-tier scholar support services they offer to anyone who qualifies for their scholarship -- I attend a top 5 university, and I can confirm that HSF's Career Service Center has made a greater contribution to my professional development than my college's.
If you can donate, or have the opportunity to get involved with this organization, I cannot recommend enough that you do -- it will be well worth your while!
HSF is amazing. I attended the YLI in 2021 and it was fantastic! It teaches some of the most essentially parts of the College Application Process and onward in life. For me, the best part of it was the self-confidence boost that comes with the program, everyone is just so nice and caring!
HSF has helped me become more confident in my skills and prepared me for the college application process.
Great people, great experience. Made me a lot more confident for the college application process and taught me a lot about what I should expect in the future. Lots of resourceful people and info
HSF is an amazing organization, they supported me through my junior year of college. I highly recommend students to take advantage of their conferences and career services.
HSF's College 101 Webinar is amazing! This information is priceless! Their webinar was superlative. This is MUST HAVE information for all parents who want to see their child go to college!
I’ve been involved with HSF since 2018, and as a result of the HSF Scholar designation, I’ve not only received scholarship money to help support my academic journey, but I’ve attended two conferences (Finance and National Leadership Conference) that have gotten me connected to so many scholars, professionals, companies, and HSF Staff. 100% recommend HSF to any Hispanic/Latinx students looking for a community network that looks out for your best interest!
Before HSF YLI at UChicago, I was nervous and unprepared to begin the college application process. HSF connected me to mentors and Latino peers that help guide me through the application process. I am confident in my future and blessed to be a part of the HSF community.
HSF helped me learn more about Finance through their Finance Conference. It was a great virtual experience, and it was clear that the HSF team really did an AMAZING job at organizing this online conference by the way students were engaged and by its structure that allowed one opportunities to network and learn!
I attended the HSF Youth Leadership Institute in July 2020. It was a great experience! I learned everything from how to write my college application essay, to what to expect my freshman year of college, to how to have a good job interview. Everyone from the CEO of HSF to my
college-aged mentor contributed to making this an incredible experience! I feel like I will use what I learned throughout my life.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is an excellent organization. The opportunities, including scholarships, conferences, and career services, are truly helpful for students. I'm a participant of their National Leadership Conference and I loved it. I met a group of amazing people and learned a lot throughout the conference.
The HSF YLI was so empowering and an absolutely astonishing program. The HSF team is so supportive of latinx students, and extremely dedicated to rewriting the latino narrative. There couldn’t be a better program!!
AMAZING!!! HSF is doing it right. I participated in a program and it was forced to be moved virtual, but HSF handled it perfectly. Due to the efficiency of HSF, it was still a life changing program for me and I learned boundless information and skills.
Outstanding organization that continuously supports and checks on students selected as HSF Scholars. I was awarded with scholarships when I was in college, invited to career development conferences where I received coaching and advice from successful professionals and well-prepared HSF staff, and given the opportunity to be a mentor and panelist at conferences. I have witnessed how HSF is constantly finding ways to improve and provide the best resources to their scholars
HSF honestly kick-started my entire college searching experience. I had no idea what to even be looking for before I attended their YLI camp.
I was honored to be chosen to participate in their Youth Leadership Institute 2020. When I signed up (pre-COVID) the event was to be held at the University of Chicago, but after the epidemic struck HSF was forced to relocate to a virtual setting. The shift went seamlessly, and I feel that I gained the same amount through the online course that I would have in person.
The YLI taught me everything I needed to know about the college process and how to get the most out of my college experience, as well as connecting me with my Latino peers from across the nation and PR. It also helped me make valuable connections with the mentors, guest speakers, and HSF staff members. I'm proud to be considered a scholar of this fantastic organization!
My experience has been awesome with HSF. I have learned many life skills that I will cherish and take with me in my future careers and paths.
As a volunteer I have gained so much knowledge about the program which not only am I helping HSF but they helped me improve my skills as a person. Great organization.
The HSF organization has helped me in many ways as a student survey volunteer. I have enhanced my time management skills, improved my efficiency skills along with providing the best support I can to the HSF organization. HSF is a great organization to be apart of and I couldn't be more proud to represent this institution.
Such a great non profit organization!!! thank u so much for your help. These are the type of organizations we need to fundraise for.
I’m so grateful for the experience HSF has been able to provide me in high school and my undergrad career. I was able to step out of my comfort zone and practice my communication skills. Also, I love the network of students I am connected to, who I share similar uprisings with.
My experience as a volunteer here has always been one of warm welcomes and attentiveness to my well-being and professional pursuits. The atmosphere is one of neighborliness, and for that reason would always help out when needed.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund continuously delivers and supports young and talented scholars - deserving of the recognition. The experiences and confidence that HSF instills within its scholars are one to none, and their ability to develop leaders is clearly depicted throughout the life of the scholar.
Personally, my gratitude and desire for a long-lasting impact on our community inspires me to continue to serve as a mentor, career coach, and volunteer -- always reaching for greater impact.
I am thankful and blessed to be part of the HSF community!
So proud to support this non-profit. HSF provides life-changing support for its scholars and those individuals that support its cause. Not only does this organization award much needed financial support to deserving Latino students, it also provides career services support to ensure they have a pathway to a life changing career.
I was one of their scholarship recipients. They offer great help to Hispanic students who don't have first hand experience in college. They offer a lot of resources from volunteering, scholarships, to job opportunities. I am very thankful for them.
After years of volunteering with HSF, I'm very disappointed in how I have been treated as an alumna. It is clear the org has become more about business rather than students. It caters to those who are already succeeding and completely ignores low-income students, it's full of favoritism and elitism. I constantly get calls and emails to donate and contribute my time, which I will no longer be doing. At the end of the day, HSF and the CEO prioritize their public image, the fancy galas, award shows, and conferences instead of meeting the real needs of students. Feel free to check out their reviews on Glassdoor from previous employers (their rating is 2.4, and 34% approve of the CEO)
I have volunteered for two years for HSF's College Bootcamp and my sisters have been able to attend the last two years. This nonprofit is very professional and genuinely cares for students. My sisters and I are first-generation; she learned so much from the bootcamps and it was so helpful because she was around people her age. The littlest one is in middle school and she feels much more prepared to start thinking about college because of the information. As a volunteer, I have seen how they do their best to benefit parents and students of all ages. I recommend getting involved with this nonprofit 100%.
I had an amazing experience at the 2019 Media and Entertainment Summit. I learned valuable skills for resume building and for interviews. I hope to participate in another conference in the future!
Since my first introduction to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) in 2015 as a junior in high school to my 5th, HSF has played a critical role in my life. By attending the Youth Leadership Institute in 2015 at the University of Chicago, I was able to experience for the first time what a strong Hispanic community and leadership looked like. They gave me the vision to dream and the tools to succeed in whatever it is I choose to do. With their guidance, I was able to become a Gates Millennium Scholar! Just a week ago I attended the 2019 Finance Conference in New York City as a mentor to an amazing group of mentees. If you have not heard of HSF yet I would encourage you to look them up as they have been a big proponent of the Hispanic community, promoting higher education, and wonderful leaders doing great work!
In October 2019, I attend the HSF Finance Conference in New York, New York. This life-altering conference was filled with a career expo, discussions, panels, and fireside chats with leading industry professionals and distinguished HSF Alumni. I am beyond grateful to have indulged in various professional development activities. The insights and advice I received have inspired me to step into a different realm in which I was unaware. Today, I am continuing my job search with additional career options in cooperate America thanks to HSF.
Fantastic organization at the forefront of preparing the future Hispanic leaders of the U.S. Professional, great attention to detail, and impactful programming was given to 100+ HSF Scholars at the 2019 Finance Conference in NYC. Provided lifelong lessons in personal growth and career advancement advice, great mentors and administrators, and unparalleled access to leading professionals and panelists.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) has helped me tremendously throughout my undergraduate career. It is so much more than a check as far as scholarships go. It is truly a support network with employees that genuinely care about the students they serve. The most impactful experience however for me is the times that I have been allowed to come back and volunteer with them such as the College 101 camps, the Youth Leadership Institute and Young Leaders Consortium. Through these events I have witnessed the impact that HSF has on students who may not believe in themselves. After going through these events, they come out prepared, and energized to take charge of their future. It is inspiring work and gives me hope for the future.
I attended HSF's 2019 Youth Leaders Summit and didn't expect that it would have such an impact on me. I've attended many leadership conferences, but this was like no other. Rather than just addressing the topics of college and career readiness, I actually had the opportunity to network with like-minded peers, college admissions officers, mentors, and executives from various companies. It was truly life changing and I was able to create long-lasting relationships with people that I only met for four days.
I had a wonderful time during the cohort 1 of Young Leaders Summit (YLS)—a racially diverse, free, 4-night comprehensive college conference—in 2018 at the University of Chicago; I bonded many new relationships, made a lot of friends, learned everything about college admissions and financial aid, and felt confident about my college application process and applying to top universities. To give back, I gladly accepted being in the A-Team for cohort 2, where I had an even greater time than my first year; not only did we, the A-Team, helped cohort 2 end with a tremendous success, but I also reunited with eleven other students from cohort 1, met more amazing college and high school students, including the 34 mentors, from all around the nation (including Alaska and Puerto Rico), worked with the A-Team by running the behind the scenes, and spent priceless time with them (the YLC administration did not even expect the A-Team to get along so close together!). Volunteering at the YLS was definitely my favorite part of my 2019 summer. I honestly cannot be more thankful to HSF for letting me participate in both YLS cohorts completely free; both being a student in the first cohort and a volunteer in the second changed my life a lot. I will be sure apply to be a mentor for cohort 3! I hope to see everyone at the cohort 3 of YLS!
Attending a great opportunity like Young Leaders Summit hosted by HSF and other contributors was an unparalleled experience. Without a financial burden, I connected to 200 brightest minds all across the country and started a network with professional from a variety of fields. This organization brings the best of the best opportunities to low-income students to empower and enrich with us invaluable experience.
This past month I had the unforgettable pleasure of attending the Young Leaders Summit. Whenever anyone asks me about it, I always say the truth- that it was the best experience of my life. I have never felt so uplifted in terms of information and self-esteem. Through the summit I met with some of the best students across the country who also suffer economic disparities. All of my peers were given tools I believe they couldn’t find any where else. I will spend the rest of my life owing a debt to this program and HSF and all the better for knowing them.
I attended the 2019 Youth Leadership Summit hosted by HSF and had the best time of my life. As a low-income student with little college guidance, the program not only provided me with support I’ve never had, but also allowed me to meet new friends. I’m so grateful to HSF for everything!
I attended the 2019 YLS at the University of Chicago hosted by HSF. It was truly a life-changing experience. The knowledge and the growth I had gained from the experience was very valuable. The chance to talk and be surrounded by many high achieving students just like me was very inspirational. On top of all that, the staffs were extremely helpful and professional.
It was amazing, they do everything they can to help people. I really appreciate everything they do and can not wait to see where we will all go!!
I attended the Young Leaders Summit in the summer of 2019, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Couldn't have asked for a better community to help propel my success in the next year. Thank you HSF!
I attended the HSF Youth Leadership Institute at the University of Chicago. HSF covers all costs of attendance for the students accepted into the program. It was truly a life changing experience. The program was empowering and informative. It taught me about networking, the college application process, and financial aid. Additionally, it connected me to a group of inspiring and bright Hispanic students that I'm grateful to have met. I'm so thankful to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund for this experience.
I participated in the Youth Leadership Institute and appreciated the work Hispanic Scholarship fund did to make this helpful, enjoyable experience possible.
I participated in the Youth Leadership Institute at the University of Chicago, and it was truly a transformative experience. I gained confidence in my ability to apply to selective universities, and I also gained the skills that I will need in order to succeed at such a school. I left with access to numerous resources and a new familia.
The Youth Leadership Institute was an amazing experience that has given me opportunities I couldn't dream of beforehand.
I attended the inaugural Entrepreneurship summit with HSF in 2019 and was blown away by the passion and dedication that went into making this event possible. It was clear that leadership, staff, and volunteers truly cared about HSF's mission. I would love to dedicate time and resources to HSF in the future.
I feel honored to have attended HSF's Finance Conference in New York. I had the opportunity to meet other young Latino and Latina students from across the nation and was inspired by their stories and motivation to succeed. HSF provided great resources while we were at the conference. I learned and grew a lot during my time there.
Went to one of their college camps in Atlanta held at Georgia State University. It was very informational and touching to see an organization dedicated to the Hispanic youth.
Like many others said, I thought I was not going to learn anything from this seminar. But I was wrong. I left with two things. A wonderful mentor to guide me through life and a ton of valuable information /skills. The mentors here truly care about you and will do everything they can to help you. They also provide you with awesome presentation and speakers. I was able to gain skills and tips I would never be able to acquire anywhere else! Honestly, if you attend to any of there events, I am sure you will leave home with more than you imagined.
I attended the 2018 Youth Leadership Institute at Princeton University, sponsored by HSF, Wells Fargo, and Princeton University; and it has been a truly life changing event. The HSF does amazing things not only for its scholars, but just in general for the good of communities around the country. It empowers future Latino/Latina leaders and always gives back. I am blessed to be a part of the HSF network and fortunate to be considered a scholar of this fantastic organization.
It was a great experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life! I recommend everyone try to be involved with this phenomal group. Super nice, helpful people.
HSF is a great organization that cares about the well-being and career development of young Hispanic students. The conferences, the scholarships and the advice they provide are very insightfu, inspiring and helpful.
HSF is a wonderful organization that always makes sure to help all of their scholars. I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow and through their help, become an even better future leader, who is willing to and can give back.
Going to the Youth Leadership Institute put on by HSF greatly increased my confidence in going through the college application process. I gained invaluable resources and friends from this experience. The YLI taught me about financial aid, gave me advice for my application essays, and allowed me to ask questions about anything related to applying to college and learn from current college students, admissions officers, and connected me to working professionals in order to learn about where college can take you. Without the YLI and HSF, I would feel lost when approaching my college applications and I wouldn't have access to all of the resources for scholarships, networking, etc. and I wouldn't have the support from HSF to help me navigate college. HSF provides incredible services for Hispanic students and the YLI at Princeton truly changed my life.
The HSF is an absolutely amazing organizing that provides resources and opportunities for students that go far beyond what would be expected of them. I attended their Youth Leadership Institute at Princeton and found myself welcomed into a strong network of high achieving Latino students and mentors. All the adults involved were incredibly helpful and kind, the information I received was detailed and important, and I left the program feeling empowered and prepared to apply to college. HSF is truly wonderful, and I will be recommending it to everyone I can for years to come.
I attended the YLI at Princeton and had an absolutely amazing experience. What HSF does is really special, and I can't wait to begin to volunteer with them so as to give back in repayment for letting me attend YLI. I will absolutely be recommending HSF to everyone who is eligible to receive any of the many services they offer. I'd really like to thank them for everything they've done so far and will continue to help me with.
I was a part of the YLI at Princeton. More than anything, I left the YLI with a sense of confidence, not only for the upcoming college applications but also for life after high school in general.
I had a great time with my "familia" and the people there. Everyone was very friendly, open, and willing to answer any questions. My mentor was a lot of fun and very open to discussion.
I am extremely grateful to the HSF and plan to tell many others about it.
Going into it, I thought the YLI program through the HSF would be another one of those self acclaimed "best college help programs." The reality of it is that the YLI didn't tell me what to do, it gave me the skills to discover it for myself. I feel like this program truly taught me something while at the same time allowing me to explore how I want my future to look. It gave me a pathway to success that simply isn't found through any other program. I know I'm ready for college, and would highly suggest that every Hispanic 11th grader apply for this program, as it provides a priceless experience that will impact the rest of your life.
HSF provided me with the tools to confidently navigate the college application process during their 4-day YLI conference. I met great people, learned valuable things and overall had an amazing experience. I will definetly encourage other incoming juniors to apply and attend YLI.
I was a panelist at the Gates Scholar Summer Institute which was run by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and I was amazed at how well organized the 4-day conference was and the rich content they provided for their scholarship recipients. I would love to work with the HSF again.
HSF has provided me with the opportunity to network with my peers from other top universities such as Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford, to name a few. I will always remember how this organization has allowed me to connect with mentors that look like me, and the relationships formed with amazing peers that I am honor to know.

Such a great organization from Top to Bottom. Everyone professional and respectful. So much gets done in a positive way. The scholars are truly exceptional. You can see the magic in their eyes. I feel better knowing this program is around.
As a recipient of multiple HSF scholarships throughout my undergraduate career and as an HSF Scholar who's had the wonderful opportunity to work for HSF as a student mentor, I can say with total confidence that this organization is destined to continue touching the lives of many more Latinx students across the country, as it has mine. I've grown both as a professional and as an individual as a result of my involvement with HSF, and I cannot wait to see what fellow HSF Scholars have in store for their futures given that HSF does such an amazing job of identifying and truly supporting young and exceptional Latinx talent! The HSFamilia is alive and real, and I am so incredibly thankful for it.
As a four-year recipient of the HSF Scholarship and as a proud member of the HSF family, I can honestly say that this organization has changed my life. HSF empowers me to achieve more, connects me to other incredible Latinx leaders, and, on more than one occasion, has transformed how I perceive my Latinx identity for the better. Operationally, the organization is impeccably run, with visionary leaders and a dedicated workforce. I look forward to being a part of this organization into perpetuity and strongly believe that it deserves all of the praise in the world.
HSF presented me with a life changing experience! I was invited and honored by attending the STEM Summit organized by HSF and had an insane time meeting similar Latinos and Latinas also pursuing a career in STEM! Additionally, it was inspirational to not only listen and connect with the professionals invited to talk to us, many of which had hard upbringings and were at a disadvantage due to their race and ethnicity. HSF is doing an amazing job empowering Latinos and Latinas as they strive to reach their goals! I cannot wait to see the extent of their endeavors in the next generation of Latinx Students!
Filled with wonderful, friendly professionals and inspiring talents! The students are extremely intelligent and engaged. I only have good things to say about this organization and I support its cause and message.

This organization really cares about the Latino community and it provides many resources to help us succeed in our academic careers and in life. The events they organize, the sponsors, the staff, the scholarships, everything is well-planned and has the purpose to motivate young Hispanics to become leaders and help the Latino community. They cherish diversity and encourage respect and love among different people. Something that is very needed nowadays in our country. Great organization!
This organization has changed my life for the better. I would recommend it to anyone. It's run by amazing, compassionate, and hardworking people. They provide the resources you need to succeed and encourage you to reach your goals. I have nothing but great things to say about HSF because nothing beats being a part of their "familia." I attended the YLU at UPENN and the experience was so wonderful.
HSF is an amazing organization that more people need to hear about. I attended the Youth Leadership Institute at the University of Chicago during July 2017 as a student; I was very impressed. I learned useful information on college admissions and scholarships. The staff was very friendly and professional--meeting everyone was my favorite part. The YLI was very interactive, informative, and empowering. I am so grateful for HSF and recommend it to all Hispanic students!
I was a participant at the YLI at UC Davis in 2015 and it was an experience I I'll never forget. I also had to the chance to be on the A-team and be a mentor for a group of amazing students! This organization is dedicated to help the Latino community in a way possible, by far one of the best non profit organizations in the country!
I have the honor of serving on one of the regional advisory boards for HSF, and have for several years; and I regularly volunteer at various events. The mission of HSF is audacious, and the ground-breaking leadership and innovation the organization drives to champion and achieve the vision of at least one college degree in every Latino household is nothing short of remarkable. The talent of the leadership team and staff to bring the commitment and vision to life is unwavering, and the quality of students who are supported by HSF as scholars is the very best our country has to offer. I have seen first-hand how HSF has strengthened the Latino community, and changed the lives of thousands of young people and their families through structured programming starting with middle school students, supporting high school students applying for college, and developing leadership skills for college students. No other non-profit I have ever worked with has shown the caliber of skill, talent and ability I have experienced from HSF with every single interaction. I look forward to continue serving. #adiplomaisforever
I volunteered with HSF at an event in Baltimore and was really impressed. As someone who benefitted from great mentors and really dedicated staff during my own road to college, I'm really thankful that HSF is doing the work it's doing. Great org.
Wonderful organization, providing Scholarship and support services/programs to deserving recipients.
I attended the Leaders in Education Awards ceremony this year. What an inspiring event. HSF is doing amazing work in the Latino community.
Had an opportunity to volunteer at one of HSF's College Camps in Los Angeles. This organization does fantastic work for Latino kids and families. Very good information and very motivational speakers
In the past few years, HSF has really transitioned from being a check in a mailbox to a full-fledged community with events and programs to help their scholars. They are constantly trying to improve, and they are actively building a formidable group of latinxs from all backgrounds and from all over the nation.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is an inspiring and amazing organization. I thank HSF for supporting women, Latinos, and New Mexicans like me to dream big and be a role model to others.
HSF is really dedicated to helping Hispanic students get a higher degree. The HSF staff is committed to helping each and every student that reaches out to them in a timely fashion. The HSF team has been a great influence on my college education and has helped me strive to reach my educational goals.
HSF is an amazing organization that helps Hispanic students around the country and I have been honored to be one of those students. They have truly changed my life. I wouldn't have been able to afford going to college if it wasn't for their generosity and the countless donors that help students by providing the scholars with scholarships and other types of resources such as internship opportunities and networking events. HSF truly wants students to succeed and have gone above and beyond to make their dreams into reality.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is devoted to helping deserving students across the nation to fulfill their academic and professional dreams.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is a great organization dedicated to help Hispanic students succeed in college. I never imagined that HSF would invest so much in me. They have helped me with mentorship, career planning, guidance, and scholarship. Everyone is extremely dedicated and willing to help at any time.
Many organizations provide scholarships, but hardly any provide awardees with a strong network of support. Thank you HSF and donors!!!
This organization has made it possible for me to go to college, and it inspires me to try harder every day.
HSF has played a vital role in my education and without their professional, academic, and professional support I would not be where I am today.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund's active dedication to equity in access to higher education is something I admire. Through programs such as College Camp, LUNA receptions, and Mentor Match, the organization is able to offer much more than just monetary assistance, instead, they go above and beyond by providing opportunities for all Latinos to be involved in the betterment of our families and communities. With their leadership, our communities will have students, mentors, and allies they can look up to and seek for help.
As a HSF National Leadership Conference alumni, I am a fortunate and proud part of HSF's vision.
Absolutely amazing and door opening in every way. Helps Latino scholars to network with each other and professionals in many industries.
My Sophomore year I was trying to figure what to do the following year because my parents nor I could pay for the hold on my account and financial was pretty much tapped out for the year. Next thing you know, a check came in the mail from HSF that covered the hold on my account and allowed me to register for my Junior year of college. My parents and I are truly grateful of what HSF's scholarship meant to us and my ability to stay in college and eventually graduate.
As a high school senior I was lucky enough to have been awarded a $10,000 scholarship from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Those $10,000 allowed me go through my college years a little less stressed because I knew my personal expenses would be covered. This allowed me to take on life-changing unpaid internships at several Fortune 500 companies. These internships helped propel my career in the right direction. Without the help from HSF, I would have probably needed to take a job at the mall to cover my expenses and would have missed out on some great opportunities. I'm so grateful that I was able to take on internships that gave me real world work experience instead. Thank you HSF!
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund helped me make going to college possible. Because of the scholarship I was awarded, I was able to graduate from a reputable university and achieve my Bachelor degree! The HSF contributed to my success and I am so grateful for that opportunity. Thank you HSF!
Receiving an HSF Scholarship helped to make college possible for me. As a professional in the same line of work, advancing Latino youth through scholarship, I see the value in paying that support forward and giving others the same assistance to be successful. HSF is a great non-profit and plays a critical role in developing Latino leaders. This is the beacon of light students need on their college journey.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is one of the most progressive and heartwarming nonprofits that I have had the pleasure of witnessing. Their online presence doesn't feel like you are online, it feels warm and non intimidating for future applicants. The parent of the year award is brilliant... it says if they can do it, we can do it!
In today's world where we are getting hit with media everywhere it is very refreshing to find an organization wearing it's big heart on their sleeve.
Congratulations team HSF on all your success in helping #RiseUp people to their potential.
Respectfully,
Gina Linn Espinoza

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund helps serve Latino students by giving them the opportunity to apply for scholarships that will help for their education. I was a student who received a scholarship through the HSF and I am grateful that there is an organization like it that helps many students out. I am currently a student at UCLA and I am majoring in Biology so that in the future and even right now I can give back to my community. All I have to say is that HSF is a fantastic organization and that it should continue to thrive and help students that are in need.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund serves Latino students through scholarship. I was honored to have received the Gates Millennium Scholarship through HSF in 2012. It was such a surreal moment, a moment that confirmed I had the opportunity to live a better life. This organization believed in me, in my potential, and chose to invest in my future. They invigorated my passion to succeed and to do better for myself. I work hard everyday to pay back their investment so that I may also invest in my community as HSF did with me. I am majoring in political science and minoring in education at UCLA, I plan to obtain a Ph.D. in education and research the inequities of our education system. HSF is more than scholarship but a community, a community that strives to guarantee Hispanic students the opportunity to graduate from university and enter the workforce. They offer access to conferences, personalized assistance, and so much more. My interaction with HSF staff has always been of the most pleasant, they are kind, genuine individuals who seek to help scholars in every way imaginable. HSF confirmed the magnitude of the Hispanic community and inspires me to contribute to that very community.
I have been donating to HSF for a couple of years in recognition of the importance of the mission of this non-profit to hispanics individually, and to the broader community. I was motivated to add HSF to those non-profits that I support due to the impact the organization had on my business partner. Partly through the funding provided by HSF, this talented individual was able to complete his education at a top-ranked university, and then went on to obtain his DDS from a highly respected dental school. He is now leading a thriving dental practice focused on the Dallas hispanic community. I am very pleased to be able to contribute to creating similar stories with other hard-working, exceptional students looking for a way to achieve their goals.
I've been in management for over 25 years at a major automotive company and have been involved, as a company representative, with a variety of Hispanic community organizations during that time. As a Latina who is first in her family to obtain a college education, the topic of furthering the education of under-represented minorities is personal, it's critical, and not just because it's right, but because the success of this country depends on it. Everyone has seen the demographics. Latinos currently comprise 17% of the US population. Estimates indicate that Hispanics will represent 31% by 2060. And, most of that growth is in the number of U.S.-born Latinos. Today, some 800 thousand U.S.-born Hispanics enter adulthood each year. It is imperative that we find a way to educate this vibrant and vital segment of our population. HSF is finding a way to do just that. In my experience, HSF has the most efficient, effective, and comprehensive program that prepares, supports and funds the educational success of our Latino youth. I firmly believe HSF is making a difference. They have my highest recommendation.
I have been a sponsor of Hispanic Scholarship Fund for several years both directly and through my company's employee resource group. They have a very noble goal of ensuring every Hispanic household in the U.S. has at least one college graduate, inspiring and mentoring others in the family and community. Their staff has been proactive in working with my organization to identify areas for collaboration and to magnify our collective impact. Since 1975, HSF has provided over $470M in scholarships to Latino students, as well as related support services. HSF seeks to give students all the tools they need to apply to college, do well in their course work, graduate, enter a profession, excel, help lead our nation going forward, and mentor the generations to come. I am honored to be associated with such a great organization.
As part of the AT&T HACEMOS non-profit employee resource group which raises funds for student scholarships, we partnered with HSF to find students worthy of a scholarship. HSF took on this challenge and excelled at finding outstanding Latino college bound students who needed help. As chair of the scholarship committee I had the opportunity to interview each recipient and was thoroughly impressed with each of them. HSF is a professional, trustworthy organization with a long history of serving our community. We easily placed our trust in them and they came through! I support HSF and the work they do each and every day.
In regards to providing access to higher education, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund is one of the key catalysts of our generation providing thousands of scholarships to aspiring college students like myself on a year basis and contributing to the improvement as well as the overall security of our community. This organization is one of the finest of it's kind considering rates of college entry rates for Hispanic students have vastly increased since the Hispanic Scholarship was established in 1975.
As a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar, I was afforded the opportunity to attend UCLA and earn a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies. This scholarship and organization is the reason I am able to pursue my passion for learning, further my education, and attend one of the best universities in our country. The staff and administration are friendly, resourceful, knowledgeable, and completely dedicated to helping students reach their goals on personal, professional, and academic levels. I have volunteered at several events and I truly believe this is a unique non-profit organization because they make you feel welcomed, they inquire about your life interests, they express their ideals and betterment of both the Hispanic and global community, and they ultimately are available to scholars, members, parents, and all individuals seeking assistance or information how to obtain or utilize scholarships.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is hispanic and latino serving organization that advocates and assists with the possible obtainment of a higher education. I have been a recipient of HSF since 2007 and had I not received some economic assistance as well as provided with the external support services (mentorship, professional development, and internship opportunities) that HSF offers, I would probably not be in the current stage of my academic career. HSF provides a sense of security and support, that makes for the dream of mine to obtain a Ph.D in Environmental Science possible.
