Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals
Mission: To alleviate the homelessness and suffering of companion animals and elevate their status in society.
Results: Since its inception in September 2017, Houston PetSet's transport program has saved the lives of more than 6,000 otherwise homeless or unwanted companion animals. To date, Houston PetSet has granted more than $3.5 million to 100+ animal welfare partners. In addition, Houston PetSet is a founding partner agency of the Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce. Awards that the organization has received include: 2016 – Monty’s Task Force Humanitarian Award Recipient; 2016 – The Houston Bar Association’s Animal Law Section honored Houston PetSet for contributions to animal welfare; February 5, 2019 – Houston PetSet, and members of the Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce, was presented with a Proclamation Day from Mayor Sylvester Turner; February 19, 2019 – Houston PetSet was presented with a Proclamation Day from Mayor Sylvester Turner; April 23, 2019 – Houston PetSet was presented with House Resolution 1284 by Representative Sarah Davis. The Resolution was presented to the Houston PetSet team on the House Floor and recognized the work of the organization for the animals of the Greater Houston Community.
