Programs: Creekview, tulip court and dixie court permanent affordable housing is designed to give individuals the opportunity to move from living on the streets or in an undesirable situation into an affordable, safe apartment where they can begin to put their lives back together. This project also offers tapering case management training; self-help programs; support groups; treatment programs (as deemed necessary) and individualized support services.
housing counseling - the foreclosure prevention program provides assistance with clients facing foreclosure or who feel that they are in need of a more affordable monthly mortgage to avoid foreclosure. This program provides face to face counseling to borrowers who need assistance in preparing a budget, action plan, gathering documents for eligibility purposes. Once eligibility is complete, we then identify what assistance we can provide.
rapid re-housing program - provides financial assistance and services to either prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless or help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.
transitional housing program - provides individuals and families with an affordable option while seeking assistance to improve their lives. The 8 units are located at 701 mccord, valparaiso, indiana. Housing opportunities is dedicated to helping people to break down the barriers that caused them to become homeless. Whether the barriers are a lack of education, no job, domestic abuse, lack of childcare or some other reason, we work with people to enable their return to the community as self-reliant citizens. Those living in the apartments spend anywhere from 1 to 24 months in the transitional setting. All applicants must meet certain criteria to be eligible for this program which includes: meeting the federal guidelines for homelessness; head of household must be at least 18 years of age; and, all family members must agree to comply with the guidelines and rules of the program. Home ownership - housing opportunities home ownership education and counseling assists low-income beneficiaries of laporte and porter counties. The counseling prepares beneficiaries for home ownership with the planning for management of income and debts. Housing opportunities is an approved certified home counseling agency through the u. S. Department of housing and urban development. Applicants must meet certain criteria to be eligible for this assistance program. New construction - housing opportunities works with qualified individuals who meet certain criteria to realize their dream of construction and owning their own homes. Dayspring women's center - provides a women's shelter and services for women and children experiencing homelessness and those at risk of homelessness.
