Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The housing leadership council of palm beach county's primary goal is to increase the availability of workforce housing throughout palm beach county for workers at all income levels.
Programs: Developing homebuyer/rental opportunities - the hlc develops opportunities through a number of programs including our take root program in partnership with freddie mac and also our chip (cornerstone housing partnership imitative) in collaboration with 6 local providers.
education outreach and referral - hlc does education and outreach through presentations, the website and social media and phone contact where we provide referrals to many partners including 211.
capacity building and collaborative efforts - hlc does capacity building through administration of the chip grant which arranges both local and national training and support. Hlc also serves as the administrative arm for the palm beach county affordable housing collaborative which brings together area housing stakeholders on a monthly basis.
reducing regulatory barriers and creating incentives - hlc's public policy focuses on this are and develops a yearly plan to address these issues which has focused on revision of the workforce housing program, support for inclusionary zoning and housing trust funds and advocating for incentives to encourage development of workforce/affordable housing.
