I used to refer tenants to House of Ruth for rental assistance when they were in need until this past year. Seems that they promise to make payments to Landlords, but fail to tell you that the funding isn't available for a month or so. Then they tell the Landlord the check has been mailed or that they will have to put a stop payment & re-issue the check. I waited 9 months for a check from them & was told that the City of New Orleans promised them the funding & failed to do so. I will never do business with them again.
