Besides providing housing and essentials for homeless families, invaluable programs and services help ensure these families are able to make the best choices to ensure their future success. Causes: Homeless & Housing, Temporary Housing
Mission: We take the broken human spirit and restore it body, mind, and soul by providing transitional housing and supportive services to families in need.
Programs: Despite being 100 defunded by the department of housing and urban development, 62 of house of refuges funding base on february 1, 2016 without any prior warning and three months after the fact, house of refuge continued to house and support homeless families for the full year. With tremendous support from the city of mesa, other human services agencies and the community at large, in 2016, house of refuge, inc. Assisted 292 homeless individuals by providing transitional housing and supportive services. Of the 91 households served, 33 of families who exited the house of refuge program during this year transitioned from homelessness to permanent housing. Twenty - four percent of participants increased income from employment at exit. Fifty - five percent of those who exited maintained employment. These lower than usual percentages are due to the 59 families who had to be placed in other housing programs at the time of defunding and were relocated before they had a chance to complete the program at house of refuge.
