Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The House of Agape seeks to be doers of the word, not just hearers only and to serve those who are in need in the community of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Results: House of Agape was formed five years ago with a group of believers being obedient to the calling God had placed on their hearts to feed the homeless both body and soul in Rock Hill South Carolina. The vision God placed on this group was to provide music, message and a meal seven nights a week to the homeless and those in need of a spiritual and physical meal and fellowship. In November 2014, we began meeting as a church in the UPPER room of our Pastors house every Sunday morning. The ministry started in June of 2015 with us loading up tables, chairs and crock pots of food and serving on Thursday nights at the ROC in downtown Rock Hill. As the ministry started to grow, we added Sunday nights to the rotation. As the people we served realized that we kept coming back, they were there to help unload and set up the tables and chairs as we arrived and help pack up. In November 2015, we were able to rent space from a local church in Rock Hill. The space provided us an indoor space with a kitchen. This allowed us to add Tuesday nights to the serving schedule. We realized that we needed to provide a way to get people to the church for the servings, we purchased a van and would go to the ROC to pick up the people that wanted to attend the servings. As God continued to bless the ministry by providing additional partners, we were able to add Friday nights to the servings and purchase a used bus to provide transportation. This past April, we met with one of our church partners that were serving four nights per month. They agreed and combined their teams to take on every Friday night. This allowed us to open up Saturday nights to provide opportunities for the additional partners God was sending. God has truly blessed this ministry by providing local churches and families to help the ministry to grow to the five nights a week we currently serve the community.
