Mission: Hour Children’s mission is to help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children successfully rejoin the community, reunify with their families, and build healthy, independent and secure lives. To accomplish this, Hour Children provides compassionate and comprehensive services and encourages all to live and interact with dignity and respect.
Results: Hour Children’s recidivism rate is 3.5%, significantly lower than the 39.9% published by New York State. This year all of the children in Hour Programs advanced to the next grade level in school.

Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 5000 people.
Geographic areas served: New York City and Westchester County
Programs: supportive housing for 70 families, a soup kitchen, job training, in-prison programming, day care, after school program, case management and counseling.
