I found my sweet tri colored beagle at the nonprofit Hound Rescue organization. The background check was thorough and included a call to my veterinarian. I was approved and enjoying Jake so much over the last 2 years. Recently Jake needed surgery and while he was recovering, I suddenly had to go to Seattle. I contacted his former foster parent who offered to watch him if ever needed. Brian agreed to watch Jake for me while I was gone. It was such a relief he did not have to go to a boarding facility while recovering and in a cone. Hound Rescue truly cares for their dogs and provides great care even after adoption!
I am most grateful Maria

We have been overwhelmingly blessed by the little beagle mix this organization found and recommended to us. Our past preference over the years have been beagle rescues. We chose them for their expressive eyes and loyalty. We went to Brian and Holly because after many years as a companion to my retired husband our beloved Pepper passed away last January. It took till May for the healing process to allow that part of his heart to find another. We asked this organization to find a beagle exactly like the one we lost same age , same face etc. They sent us pictures of some beagles that were close but we continued to press for what we had before. One day they began sending us information on "Gizmo". He had a crazy name and his funny face was not the usual beagle face and he was not an older dog. At first we resisted, wanting to keep what we could of Pepper. Then both of them sent us texts regarding Gizmo because by this time they knew us and the love we had to offer. They knew us better than we knew ourselves because they sensed a desire for deep healing that we did not express that we were seeking. Brian had hosted Gizmo in his home and knew him well. He suggested that we meet Gizmo to enlarge all our possibilities. He told us that this beagle was a match for our hearts. The day we met our new "baby" we fell in love. Every other time we rescued, it was always about what we could give to our adoptee. From the second we met (now) Baby Gizmo, he was all about hugs and affection. He loves to curl up in our laps, if we take a step he is right there with us, he is gentle, so caring and affectionate, he is curious, and a delight to watch entertaining himself. We got Baby Gizmo in June and in the seven months since we have discovered happiness everyday. We will always be grateful for the insight of the people behind this organization. Their knowledge has given unimagined joy.

This non-profit is rock solid. Committed and organized volunteers. Financially sound. They are "in 'til the end" with the rescued dogs that they have stepped up to help.
I would not hesistate to donate to this group or 2 foster/adopt with them.
I've been involved with canine/feline rescue in some form or fashion for 20 years. While they all mean well, some fall short when it comes to stability and longevity. That is NOT THE CASE with Houd Rescue!
I (and my veterinary colleagues) continue to be impressed with the care that HR fosters receive.

As a non profit rescue and santuary Second Pawsibilities works with many rescues and non profits in the central Texas area. Hound Rescue has been one of the shining stars that is always a pleasure to work with and is one of my go-to rescues. There is a real love for the furies and a genuine desire for the furies to be happy in their foster or forever homes, that some rescues simply do not have. Not all rescues are created equal. Hound Rescue is a group i would highly recommend.

This is a caring, dedicated group. We adopted from Hound Rescue and I had such a good experience that I volunteer for them now. Our adopted boy was a bit older and had heart worms and they helped us every part of the way with help to get him treatment. Always helpful and generous with their time.

Hound Rescue is a unique, kind and dedicated rescue. They commit their full resources, time, and energy to every dog they rescue. They spend an extensive amount of time making sure their dogs are healthy and happy and that their adoptive family is the right fit. This rescue truly cares about every dog they help and it shows in the happy dogs and families that adopt from them. I am very proud to be a board member for such a passionate and giving organization.

I have worked with Hound Rescue as a foster family for 4 years now. They are truly dedicated to the health and welfare of the animals. We have fostered terminal, ill and injured dogs. Hound Rescue paid for all their care with always the dogs best interest at heart. This group really looks out for the needs of the dogs they rescue.

I work at a local shelter and work with this organization frequently. Brian is so professional and just a joy to work with. He is in it for the right reasons and we truly appreciate him so much! Thank you for all you do guys! Here is a before and after of one of the recent pulls. Her name is Blossom and she came in extremely emaciated. They pulled her, vetted her and packed on a few pounds. Look at her now! She is now adopted, too.

I am a shelter volunteer in Austin and also am a board member with a senior dog advocacy group. Hound Rescue steps up to the need for displaced hounds that end up in the shelter system. They also step up for senior and medical needs dogs that are more challenging to place that many others would pass on. This REALLY sets them apart from some other rescues. Their fosters love and care for each one meticulously. Every dollar donated here is a solid investment in the dogs they care for.

I have been a beagle lover for many years with 2 of my own. Hound Rescue provided me with assistance in different aspects of their lives from training suggestions to new ideas to handle aging dogs. Hound Rescue has also provided a place for dogs to meet new friends as well as their owners to find and grow new friendships! Hound Rescue has worked tirelessly to find the right loving home for each of the dogs they rescue and seeing the joy they bring to their new families is describable! They leave a beautiful mark on your heart!

We absolutely love Hound Rescue and all that they do for the hounds of Central Texas. We adopted our beagle Oscar in June 2015. Oscar was diagnosed with kennel cough the week before we were to adopt him so his foster family kept him an extra week until he was 100% ready to come home to us. We were very grateful for the care and love given to Oscar (and all the hounds). We see Hound Rescue fairly often at local meet up groups and adoption events throughout Austin(when we can attend) and still keep in touch with Oscar’s foster family. We support Hound Rescue as our non-profit of choice through Amazon smile and recommend them to people looking to adopt a Hound every chance we get!

Hound Rescue is a great non-profit! They are at so many of the dog specific events in the Austin are, so they are visible. The people that run it are kind, they like to talk about your dog(s) (especially if it’s a hound), their dog(s), silly things dogs do. They really try to match the dogs and people. If the fosters or other members of the rescue are aware of any behavior that is not “perfect” they pass that along and give suggestions as to the type of family that might be a good fit for the dog. The next time I’m looking for a dog, this is where I’m going. They do great work

We absolutely love Hound Rescue and all that they do!! We came across them at Beagle brigade where we would soon find our 2nd dog Parker that would join our family. We loved them so much that we volunteered when possible for events and transporting the rescue hounds from the shelters. We eventually became fosters where we would end up foster failing and adopt our 3rd dog, Sherman. We continue to keep in contact and recommend them to anyone looking to adopt.

Just moving to Austin this year I was so excited to be able to volunteer for a Beagle Rescue. As an animal lover, Beagels have always had a special place in heart. This rescue gives these amazing pups a second chance at a forever, loving home. The love and care given to every pup that comes into the program is treated as though they are part of the family. The devotion, hard-work and care is seen throughout each dedicated member. Being part of this rescue means being part of a solution.
