My mothers final request was for her horses not to suffer when she could no longer care for them. My parents 50 years of marriage was built around horses as joy and bonding. My mother found them healing at a very young age as many do. When my father passed and my mother's disease took a final hold I needed to find someplace I could trust. I found HPAF as a perfect match. The staff is professional and thorough with every aspect of the care of my mom's "Boys". I am forever grateful.

HPAF has truly been performing miracles for abused, neglected, and abandoned horses, donkeys and mules. Their management team and staff deserve a lot of praise and recognition for their ability to constantly deal with traumatic situations and suffering. But only with the help of people who care enough to donate are these miracles possible. May God bless everyone who is helping to give these beautiful animals a second chance and end their suffering.

I am fostering a horse with Horse Protection. Their concern is for the horse and its welfare first, and they back that up with good communication, quality equine professionals to provide health care and training, and most of all compassion. Their excellent team has been with me every step of the way as we rehabilitate this poor neglected horse and I have no doubt that we will successfully find him a perfect home. I have worked with Horse Protection as a volunteer and seen how they rescue and care for their horses, and they have an excellent team. The farm is well-managed and all of the horses love it there. They think of innovative ways to share the horses with the community, like the Spirit Walk Program, and they take the time to show us the horses' before and after photos and the success stories when they get adopted. I feel confident making donations because I can see the results in lives saved.

HPAF has been a phenomenal rescue for greater Marion county and the surrounding counties for years. It has been great to be a part of seeing these wonderful animals have a place they can be rehabilitated and be the best they can be for an adoptive or foster family. I look forward to seeing what kind of impact HPAF can continue to have and how they can continue to serve the great state of Florida. Thank you all, staff, donors and volunteers, for what you do every day. Without you, none of this would be possible!

Rehabilitating horses is no small feat, and Horse Protection genuinely cares for all the horses and improves their lives.

Unfortunately, some people are cruel and just shouldn't own horses. When these horses are neglected, most often due to starvation, a better tomorrow is essential.

In addition to rehabilitating horses, Horse Protection takes on everything from working with law enforcement during and after seizure, veterinary care, daily feed, and so much more. There are many wonderful people involved with Horse Protection!

I have adopted 5 horses from Horse Protection over the past 20 years. In addition, I've supported HPAF in other ways because I truly believe in the organization.

While I could tell lengthy stories about all 5 horses, let me tell you about Luna. Luna arrived at HPAF starving. She was just another Off-the-Track Thoroughbred that had spiraled downward. Luna was all skin and bones, and winter was coming. The folks at HPAF weren't sure from one day to the next whether she'd survive, but they bundled her in blankets, fed her frequent small meals, and worked with a veterinarian to give her the best chances.

About six months later, the photo on the right was taken. She looked beautiful! Now it was time to provide training so that she could be adopted.

I wasn't looking for another horse, but fate brought Luna into my life. I fell in love with her right away. She seemed to like the trails and was very athletic.

As a endurance rider, I focus on completing endurance events with a happy, healthy horse. I don't care about winning; it's all about having fun. We've had many, many miles of fun!

Luna has won high-mileage AERC/Jockey Club twice already, and it looks like she's just won it again for 2024.

Luna was one of the lucky horses that made it to Horse Protection with a triumphant next chapter. I have a special bond with Luna, and she will be with me for life.

I'm super thankful for everyone at Horse Protection for what they did for Luna. I'm also grateful for all the donors and volunteers that contributed to her care.

Horse Protection is indeed the real deal, so you shouldn't have any hesitation about donating your money and/or time to this wonderful organization.

It's the lucky horses that are rehabilitated by Horse Protection and make it to great homes. Morgan Silver selflessly dedicated all of her time and energy to ensuring that horses are fed well and trained, and that the potential adopter is a good match for the horse. She runs a very tight operation and is a stellar example of a horse rescue.

Over the years, I have adopted four horses from Horse Protection, and there were no surprises with these horses. With good reason, Morgan works diligently to ensure that the horses are going to great homes.

It's rare to find a non-profit that dedicates 100% of the donations to the cause, but HPAF does exactly that. There's no question that donations to HPAF focus on feeding and caring for the horses.

I have nothing but admiration for Morgan and her team!

I have only recently been introduced to HPAF. What i have noticed is that every employee is dedicated to the health and well being of the animals being cared for by HPAF. I have experienced reports of employees tending to horses needs round the clock when medications are needed on a schedule that isn't during regular work hours.
The employees take pride in the appearance and cleanliness of all aspects of the property from cleaning stalls to cleaning water troughs.
The employees look out for each other as well and accommodate each other by eagerly accepting shift changes when needed for health or personal reasons. All aspects of this organization have impressed me.

The more I see HPAF in action, the more I realize just how much they're really doing in their unending mission to bring the best lives possible to the horses they help. They go out of their way to make sure that every horse finds the care and love they need, sometimes even at their own expense or sacrifice of time. It is obvious that Horse Protection loves our horses just as much as we do.

I can personally vouch for the authenticity of the HPAF staff's dedication to the horses that they rescue. I adopted a rescue from them before they moved to Marion County in the early 90's for myself & my young son. Years later circumstances brought me back to them, by way of a help wanted ad, at their present farm in Micanopy and to the job I was born to do. I've had rescued horses (first with my Mom) since I was a preteen - my Mom used to tell everyone that I was born on the back of a horse Lol -so when I was able to rejoin the workforce after being hit by a drunk driver in the early 2000s I was tickled pink that instead of having to go back to work in an office I was able to support myself, my son & my own horse doing what I would have done for free if I could afford it! I spent the best years of my life helping a terrific group of like minded people rescue, rehab, heal, love and rehome some of the most devastingly abused and starved beautiful souls God has created. Unfortunately in 2010 I had to leave my dream job due to injuries sustained in a wreck that totalled my truck one morning on my way in to work. Although my body has never healed my soul still seeks what it wants and fortunately for me one of my dearest friends still works at HPAF. In the past year I have, through Lisa, found a healing of the heart at least by her showing me that I can still help HPAF do the wonderful work that they do even if it's only in small ways. Recently "small" ways turned a little bit bigger when I was invited to foster a small elderly Paso stallion for them. Because of his age gelding him could be not ideal so he is now hanging out with my (also elderly, also a rescues) Bully and his kitty siblings. So as you can see they even find a way to save the Impossible! I could go on for days with tales about the rescues and success stories, suffice it to say that Marion County would have lost an unimaginable number of horses to starvation and horrific abuse if it had not been for Horse Protection Association of Florida since its founding, through the present and with all of our help, Far into the Future!

As a veterinarian, I am appreciatively aware of the role that rescue groups for various species play in the humane management of animals who are in need of help or homes due to various scenarios. Undoubtably, all of these groups are well-intended and passionate about their desire to help animals. However, some groups fall short of the their goals because of mismanagement of funds or volunteers both of which are vital for their success. This is NOT the case with the Horse Protection Association of Florida. Management skills at handling finances, animals and volunteers are excellent from the top down including the director, officers, board members and the farm manager. Individuals have vast experience in handling horses and equine husbandry. In addition, they do not hesitate to consult with and utilize the services of veterinarians, farriers, equine dentists, trainers and nutritionists to meet the needs of each individual horse. The farm, barns, paddocks and pastures are meticulously maintained. All the personnel work very hard to educate the public , solicit volunteers and fund raise. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HPAF to anyone who wished to adopt an equine (horse, donkey, mule, mini) , to anyone that wanted to volunteer (all volunteers are trained, supervised and kept safe) or to anyone that wanted to donate funds for a compassionate cause.

I have been volunteering at HPAF for a year and a half and feel so fortunate to be part of this wonderful organization. They put the horse's welfare at the center of all their decisions, and do an outstanding job of helping each horse they have in their care, ensuring they are healthy, happy. For those that are adoptable, they do an excellent job of matching people and equines. They also support training of horses who may have had little/no experience with people, to make them happier and more adoptable. And, they provide information and support to adopters to help make great partnerships and lasting relationships.

HPAF plays a critical role in our community, helping to rescue and care for horses in need! They stepped in to help me with two abandoned horses that were left to die on a neighboring property. Elderly and without hay, grass, or a clean water source, the horses were starving when rescued. I was able to get them through a critical period and HPAF stepped up to make sure they had ongoing care to last their lifetime. I am a donor and supporter of this organization and am in awe over all they do! Their long track record of being there when people and animals are in need of care and support is unparalleled.

As a riding and horsemanship instructor for over 30 years and as president of a global equine organization (HETI) I am very impressed with HPAF. The facilities are simple but clean, functional, and most importantly geared towards the overall welfare of the horses. The turn out in carefully selected groups in vast pastures offer plenty of space to roam and a stress free life - critical to the recovery of rescued horses.
When you visit HPAF you will find a place of peace, harmony and hope!

I just adopted a Thoroughbred from HPAF. I had initially contacted them about another horse, but since he was already spoken for, they suggested another based on what I told them I was looking for. I was a little uncertain at first. Even though I have ridden all my life and had my own horses for most of it, I have not ridden a young, ex-racehorse in quite some time. :) I was invited out to meet him, and to watch a training session. After I got to know him a bit I was on board! The staff made this a very easy process and were very accommodating, allowing me ample time to get to know him, as well as allowing him to finish his rehab at HPAF. They take such great care of the horses there, and definitely want to make sure you and your new horse are a good match. They assisted me with getting us a spot at a trainers, and he and I will start training together in Just a few weeks! Highly recommend.

Horse Protection Association of Florida is truly the best of the best. There are a lot of horse rescues out there. This one is the real deal.

They rescue, rehabilitate, educate and find good homes for many horses in need.

They have been doing this since 1990. They are truly special in the way they help people and horses. They teach with natural horsemanship methods, patience, understand and kindness. They incorporate the idea of horses helping people as much as people helping horses. That's win win!

In their Lead from within workshops, People learn how to improve leadership skills by understanding their own personality types and how to communicate with those with different personality types. They use horses to demonstrate different personality types and how we can apply that to our daily lives.

If ever someone needs assistance, advice, education or looking to adopt a horse, I highly recommend this organization.

I always look forward to donating my time there as a way to help. I see what wonders and accomplishments they have done. They never cease to amaze me.

This is a remarkable organization. Earlier this year, after unexpectedly losing one of my two horses, my thoroughbred was in desperate need of a buddy. He was grieving badly and losing his interest in life. I contacted HPAF after seeing several pictures online and Lisa responded immediately. She called and I told her what had happened. She understand the situation and they went into action. They sent an application, pictures and stories of available horses. I went to visit hoping one of the two horses I had seen would be a good fit. Then she and Christine moved quickly to get Misty home with my horse in a matter of days. They are buddies now!! Misty has a good home and plenty of loving attention with a gelding who dotes on her!! Thank you HPAF. I will continue to think of your organization when I make donations. This is one of my all time favorite charities. I’ve seen a lot of non profit organizations, having worked in the sector for almost 45 years. I discovered HPAF when I desperately needed to find a companion for my retired show horse who’d just lost his retirement buddy. HPAF’s wonderful staff listened my needs and helped me find a wonderful companion, Deva, for my old horse for several years. Today she still is a well loved member of the family. I became an advocate and donor of HPAF and have convinced others to support the organization and have also included HPAF in my estate plan. This is a WONDERFUL organization!

I am a voice for the equines of our community for 12 years. I have supported HPAF as one of the great non profits. They have come to the rescue of many and have always responded with any help needed working on so many in need. Recently i got word of an elderly lady that was barely hanging on physically and financially and had 2 donkeys and a senior horse. she was very worried that she couldnt continue to care for her beloved babies. after not having much luck finding a safe home I reached out to HPAF to see if they could assist. It was a difficult property to access and the equines have not been Handled much by owner due to difficulty getting around. HPAF assured the owner and she surrended them and HPAF has successfully picked them up and safely taken them to HPAF to be evaluated and put up for adoption . THANK YOU Lisa , Christina and Village that made this happen.

I marveled at the amount of work and dedication given on a daily basis by staff and volunteers. The trauma and physical suffering many of these horses have been through are heartbreaking. The love and healing that happens for the horses at HPAF save their lives! The physical healing that I witnessed, in such a relatively short time, is amazing. I came to learn about this nonprofit as I have horses and love them. The staff was eager to introduce us to all of their valued rescue horses. You could feel the love they have for each horse as they told us their names and stories. We saw multiple before and after photos that made us sad but grateful towards HPAF for stepping in for these animals. Each horse we met, the staff was able to tell us all about with pride how far they have grown. We met a few that were so sweet and gentle that you could see how well they've been cared for in the care of HPAF. One mare, Shadow, was so kind and stayed with our group wanting more attention. Shadow showed us that through HPAF you can overcome trauma, forgive, and still love. I hope they continue all of their much needed work for years to come.

HPAF has done more for abandoned, abused and neglected horses than any other organization that I know of in Florida. When horse farms fold and the owners just walk away from the entire business, leaving their horses behind without food or water to die, it has consistently been HPAF that steps in and saves these helpless animals. I know of no one who has done more for abandoned horses in Florida then has HPAF's founder, Morgan Silver. She and HPAF's team of staff and volunteers are truly doing God's work and they should be commended. The team at HPAF is amazing. I feel such deep appreciation for the work they are doing, and their tireless dedication to the well-being of the horses. Morgan has devoted her life to doing this work, and her commitment is admirable. Horses who end up at a place like this don't generally have an easy background- which means that not only does HPAF need to provide daily care, but they are doing trauma recovery and rehabilitation as well. Spending time with the horses there as a volunteer, I see how each one receives such individual loving care, and this really shows in the horses' demeanor and willingness to interact with humans. In addition to giving each horse daily attention- (not easy to accomplish with over 60 horses! I have just 3, and they keep me busy enough!)- they have trainers and bodyworkers work together to prepare the horses for adoption, so they'll be more adoptable and have a happier life. I am thankful to be able to contribute to such a wonderful organization. I now volunteer there, and adopted one of the horses as my own- a lovely 4 year-old TB mare, who had been near death from starvation when HPAF found her at age 2. Now she is not only physically healthy, but mentally and emotionally sound thanks to all the effort and energy HPAF put into making her so- she is an absolute delight to be with, the most grounded and steady member of my herd, and I'm thrilled to give her her forever home.

I have seen horses come to Horse Protection that you would not believe are still standing. They are just flesh and bones. Makes my heart ache at their condition. Within a very short time, due to Horse Protection's care and feeding, they put on weight and are once again active and living in a herd. Morgan goes even one step further. Once the horses have gained weight and are strong enough she has them start natural horsemanship training so that they can be adopted into a forever home. Anyone who loves horses and hates suffering can donate to HPAF without worry, knowing your gift will be used as truthfully and generously as humanly possible.

Many years ago HPAF was operating out of a smaller, older farm near our home in the Redlands south of Miami, Florida. And even then the 110% commitment of Morgan Silver and her group of volunteers showed through in everything they did. They were totally committed to the welfare of the rescued starved, abused and neglected horses. Over time their organization has grown and relocated to the wonderful facility in Micanopy while continuing to provide a lifeline for countless horses. Please help this dedicated group.

Horses need protection. Horses need food, care, medical, and rehabilitation after being rescued from often times horrific conditions and neglect. HPAF has done an exceptional job at nourishing and caring for abused and starved horses. The dedication to their mission is awe inspiring and heart warming. Without this passion for care where would animals get a second chance? I love this place and the success stories of all the horses that have been rescued, loved, and sent to forever homes. We must have places like this to help our fellow creatures in need.

Morgan Silver really cares about these horses and it shows in her high standards from adoption and attention to nutrition, to medication and picking up stalls and paddocks , to scrubbing buckets and grooming every day. She is always ready to educate anyone
who is interested and always goes the extra mile for any horse in need.
HPAF is a well-run rescue, and puts the time and money into training these horses
so that they have a better chance of being adopted into forever homes.

As past president if The Florida Morgan Horse Association, I was very impressed that Horse Protection was instrumental in assisting in the safe placement of 16 Morgan Horses who were standing belly deep in their water saturated pastures, in Florida after heavy rain storms.
They also have a program whereby rescued horses go to a natural Horsemanship trainer to be restarted or started. The horses have a foundation and are placed with carefully screened, appropriate new owners.

We found HPAF.org. We adopted Rochelle, who had been starved by the owner. The great hard-working volunteers nursed her back to health and she joined our family in 2006. She has blossomed in to a beautiful mare and is the quiet confident leader of our herd. The work that HPAF.org does is critical to the welfare of these beautiful creatures. It is tireless and relentless - day in and day out. I have my AmazonSmile campaign to donate a portion of my purchases to HPAF.org. Bonus: Rochelle has taught me so much, I have a moving speech called "Rochelle Taught Me" where I share the three life lessons she taught me. Horses are God's Gift to us, and this organization is God's Gift to the horses.

Morgan Silver came to our rescue a few weeks ago when she transported a rescued donkey to our sanctuary. 6 months this poor starved and abused animal had been rescued, along with a pony, and taken to a temporary location. There would have been a 2nd donkey but it died days before the rescue. The pony was placed in a wonderful forever home, who would have taken "Dudley" as well but he wouldn't load in the trailer and was left behind. We wanted him here, at Useless Animal Farm Sanctuary Inc., but weren't able to transport. Morgan came to our rescue and now he is thriving and may soon be placed in a great home. Thank you Morgan and HPAF!! You are appreciated!!

I would certainly want her on my side if I were in trouble physically or abused! Her experience and capability to share it is tremendous. Her ability to rise above emotion and be objective in difficult situations with those she protects is what separates her from many who cannot manage to be professional, proactive and overcome emotion in decision-making. My husband and I became aware of them several years ago and have been fortunate enough to be foster / adoptive parents to two wonderful horses.
Both came to the Association starved and fearful. After rehabilitations they looked beautiful and became the trusting happy horses that they are today.

Where to begin. I guess Morgan, who has devoted her like entirely to these horses that have been neglected, beaten, abused or just not cared for. Her devotion along with numerous volunteers have allowed horses to be adopted out to wonderful homes or to live out their lives in a safe environment.

Julie and Sharon have also dedicated much of their time to assist Morgan in her quest to help these wonderful animals. Until you visit and volunteer there, you do not realize what happens.

We experienced hard work, loving horses, battered horses, long hours and such satisfaction it is hard to explain. The love that the horses need is gotten here at HPAF. How I miss them. Horses and Morgan, Sharon and Julie.

This organization deserves to tops. Go spend three hours there and your life will be forever changed. Believe me, we spent three months cleaning up after Katrina and this experience meant more to us than that. Your life will change.

We have followed Horse Protection Association of Florida's Facebook page for a while. When we moved to the Ocala area, we inquired about the adoption process and got to visit their farm. We were matched with the perfect horse, who we have had now almost a year. HPAF took him in as a starving youngster, raised him and started him so that he is the fabulous horse that he is today. They put so much into rehabilitating the worst of the worst cases and invest their limited resources into getting the horses solid training so that they are adoptable and stay in their forever homes. They do the hard work that many people turn away from. All of the feed, medical care and training of these horses costs money, which is why we will happily support HPAF in their efforts. They also keep great records on each horse and they generously shared them with us when we adopted. We would love to adopt again from HPAF and we highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to support a worthy cause and help horses with a second chance at life.

I have been supporting this organization since the early years when it was headquartered in Miami. I recently traveled to Micanopy in March to drop off an afghan to be used for a fund raiser and brought carrots, apples and treats for the horses housed on the property of HPAF. Morgan gave us a tour of the facility and introduced us to several of the horses she is currently in the process of rehabilitating. The stories of these previously neglected horses will break your heart. The important take-away from my trip was to see in person the dedication to the animals they serve and to learn about the current needs for the animals. Morgan showed us many of the before and after pictures of these horses. She also shared with us that not all of her rescues were successful. I am truly in awe of her and all of her volunteers. If you have the means to support her mission, please do so even if it feels like it is just a drop in the bucket. The horses will love you for it!

Most rescue horses have seen the worst man has to offer by being abandoned, abused or nearly starved to death. HPAF, lead by an amazing woman named Morgan Silver, rescue & rehabilitate them then put them up for adoption. Her dedication and knowledge are amazing and I greatly admire her and what she has accomplished over the years. I am glad to count her as a friend.

What a delight to adopt one of these rescue horses…they are so grateful to have their own home & have someone to love & care for them and that they can love in return.

Over the years I’ve adopted 3 older horses from HPAF. They are harder to place, but since I was older myself and no longer up to riding—I figured we would be a perfect fit.

By the time I was going to adopt my second horse, I was a widow, with one 30-year old horse that was lonesome for a pasture mate. Interesting, but this time I was not able to make a decision on which horse to adopt, so I left it up to Morgan. I think Hot Shot was one of her favorites, and she thought he’d be a good fit for me. She was right!

He was impossible not to fall in love with. We became really close, and over the years we became even closer. He was not only a companion for my other horse, Vader, but a companion for me as well when Vader passed away.

Always the well-mannered gentleman, he never ate my flowers or rosebushes. Unlike Vader, who happily ate every flower & rosebush I planted. For the first time in 30 years, I actually had unmolested flowers. He did gently take a lollipop out of a child’s hand once, but that was the extent of his mischief. And in his defense, he truly believed that she was waiving it around for him.

He made everyone he met feel they were special to him. What a gift. Rather amazing quality I think. He was always happy to see me, or any of his friends…and everyone he met loved him. I thought it was a hoot that some of my friends stopped by just to see him. I was an after thought! I was just the person that opened the gate to let them in. But they had really come to see Hot Shot. Usually bearing gifts of carrots or apples for his enjoyment. This included “horse” people and “non-horse” people. Special guy, huh?

Below is his photo the day Morgan rescued him. How anyone could let a horse get in this shape is beyond me. Thank heavens Morgan rescued him! The last photo is the day she brought him to me all healthy, happy & back up to weight. An absolutely amazing transformation due to the dedication and knowledge of Morgan and the HPAF staff. I thought I didn't need any more horses. When I moved to Micanopy Fl from New York I discovered that the Horse Protection Association of Florida was right around the cow pasture from me. Over the course of seven years I've adopted two mares (one of them a pony) from Morgan's organization. Did I need them? Of course not! Morgan Silver, the founder, director, chief mucker and savior of hundreds of abused homeless horses saw to it that I could adopt, do my part, make a small difference. I asked her. She didn't ask me! Morgan is a stellar horse woman who is dedicated to finding good homes for these horses or caring for those who are not fit for adoption or foster care. Again, did I need these two extra horses? When I think of their sweet natures; the happiness they bring to my family and friends along with that of my other six horses, it turns out I did need them. Thank you Morgan and staff for taking care of hundreds of homeless in need horses, ponies, burros, foals... Sincerely,

A life-changing place. That’s what HPAF is both for the horses as well as us humans who are honored to get a chance to visit the place and volunteer there. I visited HPAF for the first time in 2001 and have since been volunteering there whenever possible, which unfortunately is much too rarely due to geographical distance (I live in Finland, northern Europe).

I have tremendous respect and admiration for Morgan and her work. She and her staff truly make a difference in the world by giving a new chance, a Life, to so many horses.
It is hard to put in words the feeling you get looking at the once starved, neglected and abused horses being now content and relaxed, grazing in the pasture, sleeping in the morning sun or playing with each other, full of energy. It just makes you happy. The happiness oozes through the horses. And it easily brings tears in your eyes if a horse that has been severely mishandled by humans now carefully and kindly approaches you to say hi. After all they’ve been through they still want to trust humans even if it might be almost impossible. Morgan and her staff work tirelessly also to help the horses regain that fragile trust.

It takes a lot of work and dedication to nurture and rehabilitate the rescued horses back to life. But it is such important job Morgan and her staff do! To me they have succeeded in life. Whenever I have a chance to pitch in the work of HPAF (by volunteering or donating money), it makes me feel good to participate in something good, something truly meaningful.

I have been aware of Morgan Silver's efforts to save abused horses dating back to the 1990's in Homestead, FL where I witnessed her go to extraordinary measures to bring debilitated horses back to health.

When my two horses, JC & Nikki, experienced lung damage due to smoke inhalation, and were no longer ride able, I reached out to her for a possible riding companion. Morgan spent time with me, showing me possible candidates; she did not have a suitable mount at that time and I found a wonderful little mare, Belle, to join my small band. Fast forward four years and I was again looking for a companion….this time for Belle.

This was a bad summer. After years of doctoring and medicating, we finally had to give up our fight. JC was put down in July...one month later, it was Nikki's turn. This left a lonely Belle. Grieving, but aware I had to get a companion for Belle, I reached out to Morgan. She showed compassion at my circumstances and offered suggestions to help Belle and I cope with the loss.

I expressed my needs for a companion and Morgan gave me several possible choices. Her staff spent time with me, introducing me to the horses she chose. They spent more time with me as I came back to experience one-on-one time with the mare I picked out. I eventually chose a sweet little appy. mare, Brandy. Morgan's intuition was right on…. their personalities meshed, and the girls have bonded. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

HPAF has been a lifeline for so many horses over the years. I applaud and support Morgan and all the people who make this possible. There is a great need for this organization and is a cause I will continue to support.

Though I work mostly with cat rescue, I love all animals and a good friend introduced me to HPAF. Morgan Silver and her staff do an amazing job rescuing neglected, abused, and near-death horses. After a visit to the organization, I came away inspired and awe-struck by the dedication and effort it takes to rescue, rehabilitate, and then provide ongoing care for these amazing creatures. There are just no words to adequately describe the commitment of these individuals to these animals. Long hours, intense physical labor, and perseverance pull many horses from death back to life and then not only back to life, but back to a good life!

Working with local law enforcement to save these horses entails not only identifying the horrific conditions in which these pitiful horses are found, but then starts the grueling, long, and often difficult legal proceedings to hopefully keep these "owners" from ever reclaiming these horses.

This organization is led by Morgan Silver, held in my highest regard, and is an organization that I will support financially and try to spread the word to gain even more financial assistance for this more-than-worthy and well-run rescue group.

The dedication and devotion to rescuing and rehabilitating--and then providing love, food, medical attention and ongoing care--to abandoned, neglected, and abused horses is hard to imagine. I admire their work, will continue to support them financially, and try to bring them to the attention of others who care to donate to an efficient and magnificent center of care for horses who otherwise would remain in agony, often in cruel situations, until their death. At HPAF, the horses are truly rescued, in every sense of the word.

HPAF has been doing a wonderful job of finding, rehabilitating and caring for abused, abandoned and neglected horses in Florida. Because of the recent heavy rains in our area, the HPAF pastures were flooded and Morgan put out a call for volunteers to foster some of the horses. I was fortunate to get to meet Morgan and am presently fostering 2 of her rescues, Sky and Little Joe.
Before I could become a foster mom, Morgan visited my farm and inspected my barn and pastures to make sure I had suitable habitat for her rescues. I was impressed with the level of care and caring these animals receive. She regularly checks on their progress and makes sure all their needs are attended to. Rescuing horses is an expensive, time intensive job and Morgan and her staff give it 200%. She had spent many hours with me and two horses I was considering, despite an overwhelming schedule. They wanted to try to get the best match possible, to have a successful, forever adoption. I didn't have a trailer, so she even delivered him to me over 2 hrs away and help him settle in. Morgan also brought me several supplies to help the transition, which went above & beyond what I expected. I didn't have a lot of money to spend and what they accepted was just a fraction of what they put into saving him. Finding a good home and freeing up space to take in more horses in need was more important. This is a top notch organization that does a never ending task, which I will continue to donate to.
