Mission: Combating the effects of homelessness becomes an even more pressing and critical mission when children are involved. Horizons for Homeless Children is leading the fight in Massachusetts to help alleviate the trauma and stress of homelessness on both children and their families by providing high-quality early education, vital opportunities for play, support for parents, and crucial advocacy on behalf of some of our most marginalized citizens.

Programs: Thanks to our specially trained staff, whose efforts are supported and amplified by hundreds of committed volunteers and donors, Horizons provides hope and opportunity to the families we serve. Our four pillars of work include:
Early Education Center: We operate one of the state’s top-ranked early education programs, which starts children along the path toward success at school.
Playspace Program: We give children in shelters play experiences that let them be kids for a few hours each week.
Family Partnerships Program: We give their parents a much-needed respite from the difficulties of homelessness, a shoulder to lean on, and practical guidance toward getting their lives back on track.
Policy & Advocacy: We highlight the unique needs of homeless children and families to ensure they are consistent priorities among policymakers on local, state, and federal levels.

I have been donating to this charity for years. They have tirelessly worked to address an American disgrace, homeless children , to brighten the future for many.
I have been a volunteer with Horizons for seven years. It is a wonderful organization that reaches far and wide in Massachusetts to enrich the lives ofhomeless children living in shelters. The children have time to play and be a child in the beautiful playspaces sponsored by Horizons. The playspaces are staffed by trained volunteers, Playspace Activity Leaders (PALS). This organization is well run in it's fundraising efforts.They are tops at recruiting and retaining volunteers from all walks of life. Horizons advocates for homelessfamilies acroosthe state. This organization should be a model forthewhole country!
