Hope provides opportunities for disabled people which genuinely enrich their lives. I have watched my brother in law, who has Down’s syndrome, build his self confidence and social skills by participating in the workshop at Hope.
Hope is a great place.

Being employed for Hope Services, has taught me how to be a respected advocate working for group and Individual Placement individuals, to feel more confident talking to their Supervisor, Store Manager and interacting with coworkers about what they need to succeed at their jobs. My role and position as a job coach, has made me aware of how important collaboration is between individuals, their families, employers, the employment regional center, and Hope Services Community Employment Coordinators and Directors are.

Its wonderful for the Clients, however the Staff are not treated equal and the pay is poor.

Hope services has been great to work with, especially Sabrina. They have provided high quality services to the children that we serve. Progress reports are provided to us in a timely manner. Vickey is very responsive to our emails and calls. Overall very professional, skilled and a joy to work with.

My niece has been getting services from Hope Services for a while. The services they provide to my niece and others in program is beyond expectations. I am very grateful for their services especially the case manager, John V. He is always there when you need his help!

Hope Services consistently demonstrates a commitment to the individuals served and goes above and beyond. Recently, someone Hope serves lost a close family member that they lived with. The staff worked with the person's employer and family to assure that his job and living situation were not negatively impacted. The individual is still successfully employed, and his chosen living situation is stable. It was a great team effort!

I have worked at Hope for over 16 years now and the work we do with this population is invaluable! I have seen so many success stories come out of the counseling center. We have a diverse team of professionals that work together to form a coordination of care for our clients from youths in TBS, case management, individual rehabilitation, group therapy, and psychiatric services.

I have personally experienced the positive impact Hope Services has on our clients and the quality of their lives. I am proud to be a member of such a fantastic and powerful organization.

Their service is marked by efficiency and punctuality. I was impressed by their commitment and dedication. They had the best team and definitely deserve respect. Highly recommended!

If I could do zero stars I would. This organization does not pay their vendors.
I was contracted as a consultant and coordinator for their annual event at Mountain Winery. I met the team on multiple occasions. We discussed strategies and processes for the event. I secured staff, rentals, travel for the event day. I also, arranged a communications calendar, copy for emails to guests, design for website and an array of multiple other documents to support the success of their event.
The day before our walkthrough of the site to test wifi and go over the rollout of collecting credit cards amongst other things they decided they no longer needed my services. They asked for a breakdown of what I had done thus far and thought they may receive a refund. I accepted only a partial payment for my pre event services. I waived all of the event day services and the remaining of the pre event services. I sent them over the Google drive folder with all of the work I had completed. This in itself took a full day to gather all of the work and add details of our communication.
I never heard back from anyone disputing these charges. May 2023 is when they decided to not use my services and in August 2023 my account was debited for the deposit they had made for my pre event services. This caused a major financial burden for my family and business. They disputed the charges with their bank claiming, “services were not as described.” My invoice was detailed and this could not be further from the truth. I reached out to them to discuss this dispute with no response. I found out that when it comes to disputing a credit card transaction it’s up to their bank to decide if the chargeback is valid. In October 2023, I received notification that their bank favored their claim and I was out this money. I plan on filing a small claims suit and contacting all outlets where this organization has a rating. It is fraudulent to not pay your vendors and profit on their loss.
I since attended another event where I was informed that the young woman and her sister whom they hired after me was not paid for their services. She too is filing a small claims suit.

It’s a shame that organization can not run with integrity. It looks like they are doing good work but I can tell you from experience they are not paying their vendors and they are doing the
work on the backs of others losses. I am not a volunteer but a very well seasoned consultant and coordinator with a decade of experience and I have never dealt with such a disgraceful nonprofit.

HOPE Services has been an integral part of our adult daughter's life for the past 13 years. When our daughter grew tired of going to MPC for classes and wanted to find work HOPE was there to help from the get-go. Our daughter had an internship within 2 months of her intake, and that internship turned into a 32 hr per week job that she has subsequently had now for almost 13 years! HOPE has offered job training and job coaching support for her throughout her time as a client. She has received counseling and support during challenging times. All of the HOPE Services employees that we have interacted with have been friendly and professional and supportive. We as a family are all grateful to live in such a special place that has such great providers such as HOPE Services and the San Andreas Regional Center. These relationships have enhanced our daughter's life most of all, but have also enhanced ours as a result. Just knowing that HOPE Services is there for our daughter means the world to all of us! THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE WONDERFUL HOPE SERVICES WHO HAVE HELPED US and guided us along the way these past 13 years!!!

I will have to be honest and say I truly enjoy working with our Clients, however, HOPE is not the Non-Profit I thought I was hired onto. The past several years, HOPE's upper Management Team, have been a huge disappointment. They wont intact a Wage Step Scale and the pay is rock bottom! Fast Food places pay more, sadly true! We have a CEO that makes over 400K a year, actually less, but with his 90K bonus..it brings him to almost a Half a Million Dollars. We are a NON-Profit, yet HOPES Upper Management get Bonus's and the non-management employees do not! This year, effective January 1, 2023, Management gave themselves a Raise of 3% across the board, non-management employees received nothing.
Its sad, as the workers can not live off the poverty pay and have been leaving by the handfuls for other jobs that pay better, much better! Retention is low and so is morale. The Employees leaving love working with our Clients and our line of work and are saddened to seek jobs elsewhere to make a livable wage. The Clients suffer the worst as they see new hires come and go, some Clients get emotionally attached to Staff and they are beside themselves when a Staff Member leaves. HOPE needs to bring their Employees, the "Direct Support Workers" up to a livable wage and cut their salaries to do so perhaps!
A recent Cost of Living Report all over the News was released, saying that a person living in Santa Cruz County would need to make $66.00 an hour to afford to rent or mortgage a house. Santa Cruz Co is rated #1 in the Country, in front of Santa Clara, San Francisco, Monterey and San Mateo Counties.
HOPE Management needs to take care of ALL their employees, NOT just themselves.

This company doesnt feel like a non profit when the higher ups are getting $90,000 bonuses and the bottom continues to get peanuts. Many are working 2 jobs while others live out of their car. i love working with the clients but this company treats the rest of their employees unfairly. They want to attract new employees with higher pay (in some cities) but the employees that have been around for years get 1 cent over that wage the new employee is getting. Its disheartening!

I do not see non profit do to the bonus program for CEO and others . The workers need a bonus program also if they can't pay fairly .

I have been with Hope Services for over 20 years and the most important thing that I believe is that Hope Services is about getting our clients the services they need to succeed in the community. Getting the help they need to live a normal happy life that they want to livel.

I love the work we do and what we Hope Services stands for. We are helping adults be able to be independent and be able to be successful at work and in their personal life. I love coming to work and be able to help them succeed and be able to make a difference in their lives. I'm so grateful for this company for giving me the opportunity to make a difference.

Hope Services Counseling Center provided an opportunity for me to engage with people in our community in need of mental health services and care. Hope also gave superb supervision for me while working with client's, which also helped me with attaining my social work licensure.

Worked here for over several years. I admire their mission to focus on providing quality care to those with developmental and mental health needs. I feel rewarded with providing care and impacting others to improve others' well being in order to maintain their schedule, relationships, and step out of their comfort zone.

I feel that Hope services has heart above all. I have been with hope services for a very long time. There have been many changes thru the years, staffing, financial ups and downs and even Covid. But, thru it all we made our clients a priority and always looked for better way to enrich their lives, make them a part of the community, feel great about who they are and their accomplishments. Our clients are not just folks with disabilities, they are someone we care about and make us laugh and even cry. They are more that clients to all of us, they are our friends.

I have worked for Hope Services for more than a decade and have found it to be a very well-run organization comprised of extremely dedicated and caring managers and staff. Hope Services' mission, to improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs, pervades every aspect and activity of the organization and its departments and programs.

The incredible staff at Hope Services' Aptos, CA Senior Center is made up of truly beautiful, delightful, loving Angels. Each and every one deeply enriched our dear Alan's life and showered him with love, fun, music, art, celebrations, parties, and everything he could have hoped for to start his retirement. They represent everything we could have possibly imagined and hoped for in our wildest dreams for Alan. He spent his last year of life with them. Hope services provides top notch services to individuals with developmental disabilities. They have made the life of a son of a close friend blossom and helped him to live up to his potential. The family and their son have become very enriched by Hope's amazing services. I am on the Board of this organization, and see first hand how much value they add to the community.

I like being able to donate to support the community that they serve. I find it easy to drop off donated goods at their Curtner site in San Jose. The employees are very pleasant and efficient to interact with as I drop off used goods.

I'm so impressed. HOPE Services has wonderful programs for young children who have delays in their growth and learning. And they help youth, adults and seniors too - along with their families. I especially like their job training - they walk with your loved ones as as they learn skills and build their confidence to succeed at work. I smile when I drive by their office. We all need more HOPE.

I came to Hope Whittier in 2005 and haven't been the same since. I have grown so much emotionally and in every way possible. I have made so many friends staff and clients alike!
Hope is a family and I love being apart of it! It has challenged me and changed me in so may ways and I am forever grateful! I am also an employee at Hope Las Colinas as a Receptionist Front Desk Person. I came on October 22nd 2013 and I love my job and the all the staff and clients that are all part of this Hope family! I am going on 9 years at this job and it's AWESOME!

Hope is a wonderful organization that while large is always centered on the needs of the people we support. During the pandemic we were able to get an online program going very quickly and support everyone to participate as fully as possible. At the height of the lockdown we were serving over 600 people a day to access their peers and engage in stimulating programming. The program was so successful that we are currently scrambling for ways to keep it going for those people who have found it opening up their powers of communication and socialization or their ability to focus on content, in contrast to the challenges they have doing that in in-person situations. Many hidden abilities and interests were discovered in the virtual experience. Hope not only continued to encourage and support everything from job training to self-advocacy during the lock down, but we actually closed the digital divide. Today there are people with disabilities using online technologies that no one ever thought would be successful doing so.

I have observed Hope Services' work from a close vantage point over the last 11 years and have to say that it is one of the most effective and well-run organizations in the Bay Area, with a strong dedication to its mission and the community, in general. When our autistic son was young, we worried that there might not be a program that would meet his needs after he aged out of public school programs. Our son entered the Hope Services program 26 years ago and think it has been a good fit because of its flexibility and suitability to meet his needs.

We cannot imagine how our son could have spent his adult years productively without Hope’s caring, helpful staff members and programs. We have confidence that he can have a good future, with Hope’s help.

For the past 5 years I have enjoyed working for Hope and advocating for the people that I support. I was able to assist one of the people I support successfully complete his first sky dive, a lifetime goal of his. Another client I support and I were able to take a vacation to Los Angeles and did plenty of sight seeing. My 40 year old son has been receiving services for years from Hope Services. The agency has provided job placement as well as job coaches for my son all that time. I am very appreciative of all that has been done to help my son go to work each day.

Hope is the best organization My daughter goes to there program for developmentally delayed people they help her learn to read and she has a paying job. She now on zoom and has many rograms where she learns things and interactsnwith her friends. Support this program if you can.

My brother has been attending Hope’s senior day program for past 5 years. He loves the program and looks forward to it everyday. It has given him a purpose and a sense of belonging. His quality of life is so much better since he joined the program. Hope staff is very caring and does an amazing job with him in spite of language and communication barriers. The senior center has a wide variety of activities, and my brother has been able to select the ones he enjoys, but also has expanded his range by joining in activities from Karaoke, exercises, lunch outings and playing games on tablet and Wii. The familiarity with tablet he developed at the senior center has come in very useful during the zoom sessions during the Covid-19 stay at home. Our family feels very fortunate to have an organization like Hope in our area.

Hi my name is Maria. I’ve been working for Hope Services for 5 years. I started as an intern and eventually decided this was the place I wanted to start my career. I love the people I work with and the clients I work for. Everyday is a new experience. Im so grateful and happy to work for a company that does such great work for those with intellectual disabilities!

My name is Fedel Sanchez. I was first introduced to HOPE Services through dear friends. Their youngest child was diagnosed with developmental disability as an infant. They came to Hope and were really blessed with the work and dedication that they provided with their infant program. This little boy is now a strong, rock climbing, adventurous young man going to college to be a physical therapist. They have always say that 'they do not know what they would have done without the help of Hope.' When they heard that I applied and accepted a job as an Activity Instructor for the Senior Service Center at Hope, they were thrilled. And so was I. I knew that I wanted to work somewhere meaningful and life changing/enriching. Little did I know that how much these wonderful people would affect my life.

My son has been attending the Hope Services day program in Watsonville for 17 years. While the facility isn’t the greatest, the staff are awesome. They have become extended family and treat my son with respect and dignity.

I have been with Hope for almost a year now on the retail aspect of the organization. I can rightly say that i love my job here. the client teams are wonderful and such a pleasure to work with. As an adult with ASD, sometimes customer interactions are taxing, but the regulars here are very understanding. It is such a change from working in a big department store that did not seem to care about any of the workers to working here where my health and well-being is key to a happy environment.
I enjoy coming to work with many great people and making an actual impact on others lives for the better.

Working for hope services for the past 23 years, I have had the opportunity to experience a variety of departments and innovative models to collaborate quality of life for those we support and ultimately for myself. Hope Services has been heaven sent for me! It's a wonderful organization that has helped mold me into who I am today! I am a client of one Hope site and am an employee at another Hope site. The staff at both Hope sites in which I attend I are absolutely wonderful, beautiful, exceptional and really helpful people with anything and everything that I've ever needed.
As a client there are classes and or activities that are fun and educational with GREAT people leading them. Hope services is an amazing advocacy network, I am so proud of Jackie for given us 11 amazing years with the company, and I welcome John on board as well. I have enjoyed working with everyone through all the years, and really credit the amazing support I have got through the years through the employment department, and Ils, without all the support I would not have my amazing outside job at our main headquarters, that I successfully have held for almost 10 years on March 1st 2020! I want to Thank Jennifer, Patty, Linda, former ils instructors, and Sandra at Parkmoor, Monica, and former managers when I was at Parkmoor for all the support. Also my former boss, Rosemary, and boss Corie, Elaine, and my amazing co-workers, I would have not been where I am today without all the support from everyone! I am so thankful for this organization in many ways but mostly for my son's involvement in the early start program. I feel like it was you who helped him get to where he is now and be happy, healthy, and smart. I work for Hope Services as well now and I'm very satisfied with my job title as companion. My son has a developmental disability and had never had a job before. We contacted Hope Services. Hope Services interviewed my son and helped my son determine what type of job he would like that he would also be successful at. Hope Services found an interested employer and helped set up the interview for my son. The well know grocery store hired my son and then Hope Services provide job coaching while my son learned how to be a customer service associate. When my son was ready to learn how to be a cashier, Hope Services was there to make sure the transition went smoothly. We couldn't be happier with the support Hope Services provided. Knowing that the support was there in case he needed it made a big difference in this process.

Hope Services is a wonderful place where people with developmental disabilities are supported in their personal goals, which may include work, recreation, volunteering or education. The staff are very passionate and dedicated to the agency's mission of community inclusion in all areas. Clients are also fully included in planning their own activities, based on their goals and desires, rather than having them dictated by others.

I have seen many heartfelt testimonials from family members about how Hope has changed the lives of their loved ones for the better by providing a place where their sons, daughters and sisters and brothers have found friendships, purpose, personal expansion, and a sense of community. Without the individual supports and programs Hope provides, many clients' lives would be much more confined to the home environment.

Man is a social animal and the right to inclusion should be treated as a basic human need. We shouldn't have to earn the right to be included – we are all born as equal citizens and part of a community.

Great programs and mission. Very innovative and up to date strategies, focusing on current issues and community.

Of course, I am biased, but as a long term employee and an individual with Spina Bifida, I can say that Hope Services makes every effort to maximize the potential and increase the independence of each individual the agency serves.

I discovered HOPE Services when one of my good friends learned that her child had a serious developmental disability. She used their services and I became very interested and involved. I later served on the board of directors and then on the foundation board for several years. I am now serving on the advisory board.

The organization does great work and has committed and generous people on staff. Their services means so much to clients and families with developmental disabilities. It would be a sad world if HOPE Services did not exist.

My name is Erusha Kongara and I have been working here for over 5 years. My organization makes it a special place for clients to come to every morning. There are several programs that cater to the needs of kids to elderly. What I always liked and enjoyed is that the support staff overall goal is all round development for the clients and make it fun along the way. There is learning opportunities including video and photography along with music and dancing. The intelligence our clients exhibit is exciting for me. Hope makes a difference in many people's lives

As a Client Advocate Peer Counselor working with the developmental disabilities people, I am able to navigate through the issues they are having. I am also seeing their progress. The people that we serve see Hope Services as a family.
