Volunteering with Hope Pregnancy Centers has been one of the most meaningful opportunities I have been involved with on a weekly basis, in the past two years. I became involved because I cared about the values of the Center and the women and men who are served there. However, I have found that giving my time, attention, and resources to support the Center has blessed me in the process. It is so rewarding to know we have helped women and made a difference in their lives.
I have been volunteering at Hope Pregnancy Center for three years as a client advocate. I was so impressed from the beginning by the professionalism, grace and kindness extended to all employees and volunteers. I feel valued and appreciated continually. I enjoy talking to the women who come into the counseling room about the hope they can only receive fully from Jesus and loving them for just an hour; such a small part of their journey, but so vitally important that we share! We treat them with kindness and respect and love them exactly where they are. I always leave feeling encouraged and my volunteer day is one of the highlights of my week! I feel so blessed to be a part of this ministry which loves and serves others so well.
I have worked with many non-profit groups over the years, My experience with Hope Pregnancy Center of the Brazos Valley is very positive. The staff and volunteers are committed to prayer as the basis of their work, decisions, and service. They budget carefully and curtail spending when the donations slow down during the summer months. They have been operating on the principal of "God's work done God's way will always have God's provision" so they constantly work to do things God's way. The many clients are always offered the love of God with the gospel along with medical tests and practical resources as needed. Such resources include classes to earn cribs, car seats, diapers and clothing through Hannah's Closet. The community has supported this ministry for years, but as folks retire, HPC always need new donors and volunteers. So far, this sounds like many other pregnancy centers; this one is different. This center serves many international students from countries where the gospel is banned. Those people are usually hungry to hear of God's love and salvation. As they hear, they take that good news back to their countries after they graduate. Additionally, this center serves a conservative state where students come and find all the world's lies spread before them. Those who succumb to sexual pressure have an ally in resisting pressure or receiving non-judgmental help if they think they might be pregnant or have an STD. I highly recommend that you support this ministry. If you'd like a call or visit to your church from the director, she is very responsive.
Thanks- and blessings!
I came to Hope Pregnancy simply wanting to volunteer. When I started training to be a client advocate, I was absolutely blown away by the approach Hope Pregnancy takes. Everyone who walks through Hope Pregnancy Center's doors is viewed as a child of God, rather than a mere customer or client. The way Hope Pregnancy approaches people. covering them with the love our Lord, changes the way clients view themselves, their baby, and Jesus Christ. I am so honored to have the opportunity to fight for life alongside the angels at Hope Pregnancy.
