I have been following a homeless man named Alex on YouTube. His channel name is vpgloves. He has no family. He is in the Inland Empire California vicinity. He does live streaming for donations, when he can get a hotel he does, if not, he's on the streets. He is in his early 40's. He is not an addict or alcoholic. I am a viewer from Maryland just trying to help him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He has an expired driver's license, no birth certificate or social security card, so no way to get a job. He is a very kind man. He deserves a safe place to live. Please go to vpgloves on YouTube to donate, thank you
Hi, my name is Aubrey, D. through out my life I have experienced both sides of homelessness. Myself like at this moment and witnessing others and friends whom are homeless. It is a most horrible altering life position to be in but thankfully to charity's and caring loving people, there is hope restored to those in need. My donation will be on behalf of Taylor Swift and all the good she has and continues to do Godbless lets end homelessness for Good sincerely Aubrey D
The shelter at 7702 Van Nuys Blvd, Van Nuys California is managed by the devil. Not once in 8 days had any case managers ask if we had any medical issues. My 19 year old son has generalized seizures. He could have a seizure and not wake up, management said it was not their responsibility to make other staff aware of his condition. They use latex gloves. I have a rash on both my arms because they never asked if I have any allergies. They have poor sanitation practices. They let people break rules under their noses. Not one person has food safety training. They don't let dogs bark, it is frowned upon. They forced abstainance upon ny legal husband and I. The list goes on and on. I would not send ny enemies there. They are evil.
Had a great experience helping at Hope of the Valley. Great organization and staff who treat everyone who comes in with the dignity and respect they deserve. Highly recommend volunteering here, and will definitely be back.
I had a great afternoon at Hope of The Valley. They have created a wonderful community where everyone is cared for and respected. If you need help, come here. If can help, come here.
Volunteered here today and had such a good experience. Great community vibe, friendly people and plenty of work to go around. Thanks HoV for all that you do.
Had a great time with my team helping people who are in a difficult situation and really appreciate the work that is done here
What a great organization! They truly care about each “guest” that walks through the door. Jonathan was our guide for an afternoon of giving back to those in need. Reach out to Hope of the Valley to offer any help you can. They are on the front lines and carry a smile on their face.
We had a wonderful day serving at Hope of the Valley! The work they do for the communities in the San Fernando Valley is incredible and it was so rewarding to help prepare lunch and serve the guests.

Jonathan is taking on an amazing mission here. This community is welcoming and kind, and I loved being able to help out and see smiles spread all throughout the room, to see everyone interact and just sit down and have a wonderful, communal meal.

I spent the morning with colleagues volunteering at the Intake Center, seeing the operations, meeting the guests, and ultimately cooking and serving lunch to the guests. It was very eye opening having been born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. This organization does great work and has a wonderful, friendly staff that made us feel so welcomed and appreciated.
Love this place and the space that's been created at the help center that's brings a willingness to explore ways to help instead of ways to judge thoes who's lives are fragmented.
Awesome day volunteering at HOV! They have as much care and respect for their volunteers as their guests. Felt like I made a contribution and looking forward to going back. A worthwhile few hours.
Our group helped to provide lunch service. The staff was extremely kind and those we served were very grateful. It felt good to help in a small way and to support the staff who work so hard every day to provide a safe place for our homeless community.
Hope of the Valley provides a great service to the community to help the homeless in Los Angeles. Team Beachbody visited there and we had a chance to prepare and serve for a lunch service. It was a humbling experience to help out, even for one day, to provide smiles and hope for those that are down on their luck.
Had a great time helping out today!! Met some really great people and after a day of serving and seeing the hard work that goes into just a portion of a day here, I’ve definitely gained a greater appreciation for everyone at Hope of the Valley.
I talked with amazing people and was able to hear their outstanding stories. Life changing experience
Today at Hope of the Valley, I met so many amazing people. They were so happy and thankful to get water, soup, and cookies. We laughed and told stories, teaching me much about my community. At the end, they gathered us all and gave us a round of applause.
Today I gave soup, water, and coffee to a group of homeless men and women and went around helping them with anything they needed. It was great.
This organization is amazing! We helped serve soup, cookies, coffee and water, it was such an amazing experience and the clients were SO appreciative! This experience is one I will not forget, and I highly recommend this AMAZING place to everyone!
My experience volunteering here was really nothing short of heartwarming. Everyone we met and served food to was grateful and kind. It was good work and an incredibly positive experience overall. Highly recommended.
It was a really awesome experience. It was super fun and heartwarming to see how the people at hope of the valley helped the homeless out. It was also really amazing to see the these homeless people enjoying their lunches with smiles on their faces. In all the volunteers there were really nice and the people we helped out seemed genuinely grateful and happy for the moment.
It felt really good exposing myself to a topic i was extremely ignorant about. Hope of the valley really really made me feel good because i was able to help those in need.
This place was amazing. As a volunteer I was able to see the amount of care and thought that this place gives for the people. I got to feed people and got see the spark in all of their eyes. This experience was out of this world.
I went for a school service day and didnt expect it to be as impactful as it was. The way you could tell people were truly grateful for whatever you gave them, and a lot of them had nice things to say when you helped them. One woman kept thanking us and it was really kind and affected me way more than i thought it would. This rescue mission was fantastic.
I went with my school and I spent my day helping out. I enjoyed serving food, especially the chicken. I loved seeing the faces of the people who received the food, it made my day. This place is extremely hopeful and great at helping people.
This is a great place that has many opportunities to give back in many different ways. Jonathan is such a great guy and runs this place extremely well. I highly suggest visiting.
Although I was only there for a day, I had the chance to help out and serve lunch to those who are living here. The moment when you hand them the food and they smile at you is the most rejuvenating feeling. It made me feel so happy.
My experience at Hope of the Valley was amazing. Being able to see the faces of the people I served was heart-warming. It was something I would definitely do again.
I had a really great time at hope of the valley.
I got to package snack bags and serve lunch. It was awesome seeing the smiles on the people’s faces. It made my day. I would love to come back and do this again. I had a blast making people smiles and the staff was amazing and helpful
I volunteered here, and had a great time seeing everyone’s smiles. I wrote on the lunch bags, and watching them read the messages was really meaningful. I also helped pass out food, and I saw the appreciation on their faces.
I was a volunteer at this organization, and It was cool to me that the stigma against homeless people all being drug addicts or not mentally stable isn’t true.
I came here with my school and we served lunch. We started off cutting the dessert and making little gift bags. After that, we served lunch. There were people who gave out the food but I personally made the plates of good with my friends. I thought it was an amazing experience. I liked making the plates and people thanking me and telling me how nice I was. It made me feel nice and made me feel like I was making an impact on them ;)
This place is amazing and you can see the impact that they are making in Van Nuys. Volunteering here is amazing and I can’t wait to come back
this experience made me realize how much i learned about homelessness and the mentality people have towards they’re lives. no one should give up and belief in people is essential. everyone is loved and i really enjoyed this expeirence
I served fried rice to people, it was great! I got to meet some cool new people and had a fun time with my school. Thanks to Jonathan for showing us around, he’s awesome! :)
Great nonprofit to work with and great leadership. Volunteered here with the University of Notre Dame and worked with Jonathan and was truly inspired by his aspirations of him and the organization as a whole.
These people really care about people and are dedicated to improving their situation. It is clear that they are driven to help break the cycle and treat clients with respect. It was truly inspirational to witness.

Spent a wonderful day hanging out with the team of leaders and volunteers at Hope of the Valley learning about their excellent organization and meeting some of their patrons.
A place where those that are looking for a place to find hope, healing and love. Homelessness is something we as human beings should work to bring to an end.
We have had several wonderful experiences volunteering at Hope of the Valley, serving meals to people in our neighborhood. It is such an amazingly well run organization and it is clear how much the Hope Of The Valley staff cares about the people they serve. We are honored to volunteer here in a regular basis and we look forward to our next experience with Jonathan and the people at Hope Of The Valley.
Had a wonderful experience sharing a holiday meal with our community.
We spent a Saturday cooking and serving a delicious meal to a wonderful group of customers. They were very grateful and gracious. And everyone had a great time!
Incredible Day- came with temple Judea and served a Holiday Lunch- Lots of smiles from volunteers and the diners :)
We had the opportunity to volunteer at Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission through Temple Judea today and it was an incredible experience! Thank you to John for making us feel so welcome and making this a great day for us and our son who also helped!
Served a holiday meeting on 12/20/19. Jonathan is amazing and really helped run the distribution. We sat everyone and had our kids serve them a warm home cooked meal - ham, mac-n-cheese, salad, and pie. They loved it.
We served a home cooked meal today. This is an amazing organization. Jonathan was an inspiring leader. If you’re thinking about providing service, or getting services, this is a GREAT nonprofit!
I came with Temple Judea and the environment and people were so thankful and wonderful. It made my day and many others.
I loved helping out the people and seeing them smile as we gave them food. Johnathan was amazingly nice.
I greatly enjoyed serving this welcoming environment and interacting with the amazing people.
I am part of a Connecting Mom organization and we helped the homeless yesterday by handing out jackets, toiletries, handing out a hot meal and just sitting and talking with them to hear their stories. Hope of the Valley is an outstanding nonprofit that really sits down and listens to try and help homeless get back on their feet. Led by the wonderful Jonathan Leeper, it was an eye-opening experience for me to watch and learn what is happening in our valley. Thank you for the experience and hopefully one day in the near future, homelessness will not be such an epidemic as it has become today. Until then, Hope of the Valley is 150% there to help! Thank you for all you are doing!!
