Great organization where the leaders are making a huge impact in the lives of abandoned, starving, abused orphans in Uganda.
I am honored to be able to speak of the work that is being done through Hope Ministries Uganda USA. As the pastor of a small church in Kentucky I believe it is imperative that I be a good steward of the money entrusted by our members that has been designated for mission work. As scripture says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 KJV. We have a commission to our local, state, national and world to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. When I found out Russell and Sonya Schweighardt were involved in the work of Hope Ministries Uganda USA, I knew that this would be a worthwhile investment in the ministry of Jesus Christ. The opportunity our small church in Kentucky has to sow into the work being done for the lord around the world is A blessing. The majority of our congregation will never travel outside of Kentucky but we can be a part in the work in Uganda. Because I know Russell and Sonya personally I can attest to the fiscal responsibility practiced by this organization. Hope Ministries Uganda regularly posts updates and videos of the work being done to spread the gospel, supply physical needs, and love the people they serve. Their accountability is only surpassed by their love for the work. I can assure you this is a worthwhile cause. Our small church is blessed to be a part of this work.
Please consider and pray about supporting this work.

Hope Ministries Uganda works hard to meet and exceed the needs of the children, men, women and families in Uganda. They are there to share Christ with the people, but they do that by meeting the physical, emotional, mental needs as well. I have had the privilege of being a part of gathering supplies on the USA side and being part of prayer teams as they go. Hearing the stories of how lives are changed and how their lives are changed by the experience is amazing. I have gotten to meet a few people from the Uganda side and hear some of their stories of how this ministry has helped and improved their lives in the natural as well as brought Christ to them. It is a blessing to be a part of this move of God in Uganda.
I'm overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on the life-changing impact Hope Ministries has had on my journey. Their unwavering support funded my entire law school education, and remarkably, they continue to support me through my graduate studies, empowering me to achieve my full potential and make a meaningful impact in my community. This investment in my future is a testament to their unwavering commitment to empowering individuals through education.
Thus, beyond my own journey—
I'm reminded of the vital work that remains to be done by Hope Ministries in the Batwa community in SouthWestern Uganda. And, I'm passionate about Hope Ministries’ upcoming project: establishing a hybrid high school in Kihihi. This school will provide this underprivileged community with a unique blend of academic and vocational training that is much needed, empowering them to acquire practical skills, develop critical thinking and leadership abilities, and cultivate strong moral character rooted in Christian values.
The school’s hybrid education will equip students with the knowledge and skills to break the cycle of poverty and unemployment, securing dignified and fulfilling employment, creating sustainable livelihoods, and contributing positively to their communities. By instilling Christian values, the school will nurture a generation of leaders who will serve with integrity, compassion, and wisdom.
This education will be a game-changer for the students, enabling them to become leaders and change-makers in their own right. The school will not just educate minds; it will transform lives, families, and communities. Students will acquire skills in entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, crafts, etc.
With hearts filled with hope and minds equipped with knowledge, students will shatter the chains of poverty, leading free, dignified, and prosperous lives. They'll become beacons of hope, shining God's light in their communities, inspiring positive change and transforming lives for generations to come.
To the donors, staff, and volunteers, thank you for your selflessness and dedication. Your tireless efforts are creating a legacy of hope and transformation.
I'll carry the Hope Ministries' spirit with me throughout my career, striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
Forever Grateful,

I love Hope ministries Uganda. I try to donate any chance I can get. Love seeing pictures of the progress of the buildings that they are making. I love seeing the videos of the kids, smiling and dancing and happy and singing. I also have bought many things that the women there have made . a lot of baskets and things very very nice well-made items. I will continue to support them in anyway that I can.
I was skeptical about sponsorship due to bad past experiences. When I found out 100% of my money was going to benefit this tribe I was onboard!! I have been sponsoring a child for over 2 years now and the experience has been amazing!! Thank you Hope Uganda, Sonya and Teresa for you dedication to Uganda!! May God richly continue to bless you all!!!
I thought about where my money might be most useful to help others and this organization seemed to be the one that God was calling me to. The children who are needing sponsored are some of the most precious tiny humans. They always have a smile in their picture . let me tell you when you get pictures or letters from the child you sponsor it’s such a blessing and a reminder that if these children can smile with everything they face there’s no reason you can’t as well. Some of you may think you don’t have the extra money but if you compare how much money you drop at Walmart for odds and ends you can probably afford to sponsor a child. I have been so blessed to be a part of the ministry. We have so much to be thankful for here why not give a child in need something to be thankful for.
What a blessing to learn about Hope Ministries Uganda! When we saw the faces of these children, we just knew we had to help. Our church started a monthly contribution, and we recently sponsored 3 of these precious children. Sonya is wonderful to work with, and it's obvious that she has a heart for this ministry. Please consider a sponsorship today!
I found out about this incredible ministry when I was at a women's mission conference. I very quickly feel in love with this ministry when I was given the opportunity to hear the story behind their call. My husband and I have been giving financially to this organization for several years now. I am so thankful for this organization and what they are doing in Uganda for the people.
Hope Ministries Uganda is making a difference in the lives of 300+ orphans and in the surrounding community.
They are providing these children with housing, clothing, and nutritional food.
Along with providing for their physical needs, these orphans are being taught skills like farming, baking, and crocheting so that they will eventually be a self-sustainable community.
In addition to receiving an academic education, Hope Ministries Uganda is also instilling in the minds and hearts of these children that they are “beautifully and wonderfully made”; God loves them; and their life matters.
Hope Ministries Uganda is providing for, caring for, and loving children who otherwise would be homeless and hopeless.
I sponsored Jeremiah after my sister went to Uganda and he followed her and begged to be sponsored. She had her picture made with him and I fell in love with his beautiful smile. I know the money goes 100% to the charity. Please consider sponsorship. There are so many children that need help and know they are loved.
Very informative when wanting to be involved in the mission trips. And very caring about the whole organization
To write a review for Hope Ministries Uganda is to tell a story of how God continually moves in Mighty ways! I have personally seen the transformation God is doing for the Batwa, such as food, clothing, shoes, school and vocation, just to name a few, but most of all is seeing these beautiful people except Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Hope Ministries is a wonderful God inspired ministry that offers a hand up not a hand out through programs of sustainability. Come join us on this Great God Adventure!

Hope Ministries offers hope to the most vulnerable Batwa tribe. Hope for a future and a life in Christ. They show God’s love by meeting basic physical needs, sharing the message of Jesus Christ and helping to develop sustainable solutions to poverty. Russell and Sonya tirelessly work to share the plight of the Batwa and raise support. God’s hand in their mission is evident as He lovingly provides and opens doors. If you are interested in supporting a ministry where you know your prayers and finances make a powerful impact on the lives of a forgotten people group, this is the one.
I have heard and seen the work of this ministry through Sonya and so many others that are involved. She and many others have shared so much of their time to do Gods calling for this area and to share Gods love. Praying many more will be involved in helping spread the love of Jesus Christ in this part of the world. Hoping one day that I too can go over their to share Gods word.
Hope Ministries Uganda has been built on the foundation of God. To share the love of Christ Jesus by feeding, housing, clothing and educating the Batwa people. I have personally been on 4 mission trips and see firsthand the great work that is being accomplished. God is continually moving in a Mighty way. This Ministry is good ground to sow into. From the moment I was introduced to this ministry, I knew I wanted to be involved. The integrity, the love for these children and for the Batwa, and the FAITH to believe big and pray big amazes me. I've been on 2 trips to Uganda with Hope Ministries Uganda USA. I've seen firsthand the needs of the people and this ministry is always seeking how they can meet those needs. I'm looking forward to my next trip and what God is going to do.
I am continually amazed by the incredible work that Hope Ministries Uganda USA is doing in Uganda. You can see how the lord is using this ministry for his work. The people of this ministry absolutely love and believe in the work they are doing.
After learning about Hope Ministries Uganda and having conversations with the founder, I have followed them for the past year and have witnessed heart and soul going into this organization that is working overtime to help the displaced Batwa people. We will continue to support them, knowing they are enabling this community to survive and prosper. Our hope is to join them on a trip to this community in the future.
I attended a womens conference where the founder of HMU presented the story of the batwa. I was touched by their plight and one thing led to another and I was on a mission trip with the founder. It was there in uganda where I could immediately see the impact of their love and commitment to the batwa. HMU is a truly God led endeavor that is daily mpacting the lives of a people with great hope and change.
Hope Ministries Uganda USA is a small ministry that has been able to do things most would encounter with much larger ministries. They are solid, to the core, and God's blessing upon this ministry is nothing short of miraculous! I have had the privilege of supporting this ministry from close to its humble beginnings, and God continues to solidify that I'm sowing into good ground. I am blessed to be able to partner with Hope Ministries Uganda USA, and I remain in awe at the far-reaching work they continue to achieve, in spite of various challenges along the way.
In this day and time, there are many “non profits” that advertise but do not deliver 100% of the funds raised to the cause. In some cases, this is not true. I highlight this non profit, Hope Ministries Uganda USA, as one of the exceptions to this. I know the money raised is totally focused on the needs of the children of Uganda.
Hope Ministries Uganda USA is an incredible ministry that provides education, housing, food, clothes and most importantly love for 300 Batwa orphans. In 2018, while on a mission trip to Uganda, I saw first hand the tremendous work the ministry is doing to give these beautiful children, made in God’s image a future and a hope.
I have never been more excited to act on behalf of a nonprofit as I have with Hope Ministries Uganda, USA. I appreciate how they responsibly stretch resources to make the greatest impact. I value how they vigorously plan and implement programs to assist the most vulnerable of the Batwa community to become self-sustaining, and that they do so with a vision for future generations. I especially love their heart for “the least of these” -children, who have suffered the most, yet have the most joy, resiliency and promise. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing organization.
Having volunteered with multiple not-for-profit organizations through the years, I can assure you this ministry is truly maximizing the impact with every penny given. This is by far the leanest ran organization I have ever witnessed, yet, the most effective and far-reaching organization at the same time. To see first-hand what God is accomplishing in southwest Uganda through Hope Ministries Uganda is nothing less than miraculous. I thank God for allowing me to play a small part. I absolutely love our mission...to REDEEM, RESTORE, REBUILD, and RAISE-UP the Batwa people. To God be the Glory!
Hope Ministries Uganda is transforming lives! We have personally seen hope revive in the eyes of those who received resources, care, and encouragement. Through diligence and faithfulness, multiple generations are being rebuilt and equipped to face the future with value, worth, and hope. When we give to this ministry each month, we know communities are being restored, lives are being changed, and the Gospel is being proclaimed in word and deed. We thank the Lord for Hope Ministries Uganda!
In 2018, I travel with a team to Uganda and saw first hand the incredible work Hope Ministries Uganda is doing. This ministry exemplifies the heart of the Father by providing, food, shelter, education and hope to over three hundred Batwa orphans. The ministry also host a women’s conference once a year that ministers hope to over a thousand women in the region. God is working through this ministry to do great things among the precious people of Uganda.
Hope Ministries Uganda is a wonderful ministry who reaches out to the Batwa people who are shunned and looked down upon by their own country. I have traveled with the Ministry four times now, where I have seen firsthand how the need is GREAT and how this ministry is working so VERY HARD to meet the needs of the Batwa people. I have been to the villages where the Batwa live. Was invited into their tiny homes where several families live and sleep. I have seen how Hope Ministries Uganda have bought and given bags of beans, rice and posho to feed the people, who are starving. I am blessed to be a part of such a loving and giving ministry, to a beautiful and wonderful people, that I have truly and wholeheartedly fallen in love with and am honored to call my family!
I have traveled throughout Africa and Asia assisting organizations in mission projects of various types. Hope Ministries Uganda is among the top organizations when it comes to effective work addressing abandoned children, single Moms, and widows. The ministry which was started to assist the Batwa People is now reaching other people groups as well---all of which are in dire need of medical care, escape from poverty, and getting to know God. Hope Ministries Uganda is an OUTSTANDING source for addressing these issues.
I've been a sponsor of 2 Seeds of Hope children with Hope Ministries Uganda USA since 2015 and have been repeatedly amazed at the Lord's presence in the lives of the leadership as well as the Batwa people, and His provision for each need as they arise. I believe this is in great part because of the faith of those involved, as this ministry is bathed in prayer. I was blessed to meet our children in 2017 and see up close and personal the beauty of these people and the integrity of Hope Ministries Uganda.
Hope Ministries Uganda is shaping lives and impacting a forgotten community in need. I love this organization because they are working to create sustainable change in the Batwa community by addressing short term and long term needs.
I have witnessed first hand the love, The sweat, the tears and the commitment that Hope Ministries Uganda has to live its mission everyday. Hope Ministries Uganda utilizes every gift they receive to better serve the Batwa and surrounding communities in order to make a difference for a better tomorrow.
I went with Hope Ministries to Uganda in 2019 - Never before have I seen a people more in need. and an organization doing so much to help, stretching every dollar to incredible lengths. The long tern plan is to relocate the Batwa people to the Land of Living Hope - and I for one, can't wait to visit the Land of Living Hope filled with Batwa people!
Hope ministries Uganda is an amazing organization. Providing food, water, shelter and school for three hundred orphaned children. Several building projects underway for a future hospital, school and teen pregnancy. God is at the center of Hope Ministries! Teresa R.
Hope Ministries Uganda is doing all the hard things! They are going into areas most are reluctant to encounter! They are being a voice to the Batwa voiceless, and they are living in the trenches with them! They are the real deal!
