Mission: To provide life-skills for homeless, chemically dependent adults and families within a supportive, residential environment, leading to their independence.
Programs: Clinical services: substance abuse specific counseling, general life skills training and counseling, housing referral and follow up. It also includes general expenses for clients and the related supplies since our program is residential in nature and the services are provided only to those who live here. Therefore, the lodging, meals, utilities, toilet paper, light bulbs, etc. Are included. In fiscal year 2015, 250 adults and 34 children received residential substance abuse services. 59% exited the program into permanent housing. Issues: depressed census first quarter due to coordinated assessment affected income front contracts with meck county/cardinal, resident fee collection, and food stamps. We also were not able to collect food stamps for serenity house due to problems with dss cabarrus.
vocational services: vocational counseling, vocational training (commercial laundry, food services, catering, building maintenance, servesafe training), job referral. In fiscal year 2015, of the 250 adults who received services, 100% were unemployed at entry. Of the 147 residents exiting the training program, 96% increased their income, and earned an average of $1,325 per month.

Hope Haven saves lives one person, one life, one day at a time! This agency provides a residential program for single adults, families, and couples who need the opportunity to learn to use the tools of recovery--not just receive them. It is a minimum 6-month program (up to 2 years) that combines clinical services, with life skills services such as Vocational training programs, parenting for custodial & non-custodial parents, social skills, and children's programs. There's even a food truck that operates as one of the training programs as well as distributing information about treatment & the agency. The agency was established in 1976 and offers 2 permanent housing units, as well. The agency serves about 300 men, women, and children annually, teaching them how to be responsible citizens who give-back to their community, the importance of being a responsible employee, and how to have fun in recovery!
