My participation with the Mending the Soul class changed my life. I am no longer a victim, but a strong, independent woman that can take care of myself and not be co-dependent in an unhealthy relationship. I also learned that forgiveness does not always include reconciliation with an abuser, which was freeing for me. Mending the Soul is a great support group for anyone who has experienced or witnessed any kind of abuse or trauma. This group gave me much-needed support and still gives ongoing support, if needed. Hope Connection is a great place for anyone who needs healing and support after a crisis.
This program has been very helpful to me! I recently transitioned out of a two year residential substance abuse treatment program. They have provided me with all of the support needed to stay on the right track. I am very grateful to this organization for their support and caring hearts!!!
This place is awesome. It has been a great support in my life and I look forward to my weekly meetings.
I have been through abuse and addiction and survived. There were times that I just didn't think I was going to make it. That I didn't want to go on.
I was part of the cycle. And, it started when I was just a kid. Drugs, rape, molestation, being completely controlled by someone I loved -- all of these things should have destroyed me.
I wish I had found these guys when I was deep in it. It would have saved me and my family a lot of heartache -- which I caused.
But now, many years later, my life has a deeper meaning and I am able to live up to a purpose and plan that God has for me. And I get to share my abundance of love and passion with an amazing group of people that can see in my actions that, simply put: You are not alone.
If I won the lottery today, I would pour into these guys. Too bad I don't play the lottery.
I will leave 5 stars when Hope Connection reaches the next phase in their plan :)
Every great charity starts with a vision. Hope Connection has a vision of getting through to individuals and getting to the root of the problems that they face -- not just working on their symptoms, but offering a hope that comes from a deeper, more meaningful place.
The christian-based programs that they run offer not only a psychological point of view to address what's going on, but they also offer a biblical truth -- that those with faith are called to love others and reach out with loving actions - not judgement.
It is an honor to be a part of this group and I look forward to watching them grow into the fullness of their mission. Watching the impact they have is uplifting. They bring a message of hope to the hopeless.
Hope Connection International has truly been a Godsend for me. There are so many opportunities to serve and be served here. After going through the "Mending the Soul" class, I have built stronger relationships and have become a stronger person. I love the way they reach out and touch the community with their work.
I've seen HCI in action. Debra's willingness to reach out in the middle of the night or in odd circumstances to bridge the gap of healing for a struggling family is unbelievable. Seeing several testimonials in person from those helped over the years means that this ministry will grow to unreachable limits. From the training provided to the counseling and support, this is a grass roots non-profit that gets my support!
This organization does wonderful things and is truly a grassroots organization. It is lead by a caring and loving woman who has a passion for what she does. She feels this ministry in her bones and feels a true call by God to do this. This gives her reserves of energy and sacrifice that are rare in the world today. I came to Hope Connection as a volunteer but ended up benefiting myself when I attended the required classes I needed. I attended the Mending the Soul for adult women class. We met each week for two hours. It was a safe place where we could find hope and healing. I believe in this organization and think it will great things for all who come in the doors.
I LOVE this ministry and what they are doing to serve people in the Raleigh/Cary community. They focus on Crisis Prevention by reaching youth with art, classes, and activities. They also provide After-Care Support by offering support groups for Loved Ones of Addicts, those who have witnessed or experienced abuse, grief, parenting teenagers, teen connection to deal with issues, etc. Their ultimate goal is to have two-year transitional housing programs for young men coming out of foster care or other unhealthy situations and also for victims of domestic violence with children. I have served with many other volunteers and leaders from this ministry through fundraising at Duke football games and it has been a true pleasure getting to know them and seeing their heart for other people. I highly recommend them for funding assistance.
As a volunteer at Hope Connection I have found it a place where I can use the talents and blessings which God has given me to help and shepherd others who are experiencing obstacles in this life. Hope Connection meets all people who enter its doors here they are emotionally and provides a safe and nurturing environment which allows them to grow in all areas of their physical as well as their spiritual growth.
In my opinion, it will change your life...please support Hope Connection!
Hope Connection is an amazing place where folks can go to share their burdens, their pain, their fears and their hopes and dreams. It's a place where caring individuals are there to listen and offer words of encouragement and support. Resources to community support systems are shared. Folks soon begin to realize they are not alone in their situations, there are others going through the same things and fellowship and belonging are offered freely.
