Mission: The hope chest for breast cancer foundation provides the quickest access to help with the most urgent daily living needs of breast cancer patients and their families in minnesota. Hope chest emergency assistance programs provide emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, transportation and child care. The hope chest meals that heal program provides healthy, nutritious meals to the breast cancer patients along with age-appropriate food for their families.
Programs: The hope chest for breast cancer foundation is the organization that provides the quickest access to help with the most urgent daily living needs of the breast cancer families we serve. The hope chest partners with local hospitals and clinics to ensure the money is available right when the patients need it. Hope chest helps keep breast cancer patients in their home; keep their homes warm; keep the lights on; keep the children in the same schools; keep food on the table; keep the patient in treatment through help with transportation and childcare. In 2016 our hope chest emergency assistance program served 532 patients.
resale shop: the hope chest for breast cancer uses a business model that generates a consistent revenue stream that helps to create an ongoing, sustainable contribution to the foundations emergency assistance program. The foundation accepts donations of upscale furniture, accessories, and designer women's clothing. It then utilizes resale stores to convert these donations to cash. Through the thrift store the foundation has developed, with donor support, a sustainable program through which help is provided.
