AS a volunteer I know first hand of the "Doc" situation. The family emailed several times saying he was having a hard time breathing and they feared for his health. The last email from them was that they could not longer keep him for fear of his medical condition. The rescue came and picked him up to take him to the vet asap as the family hadn't yet after having him 4 days. NOT responsible if you truly think your dog is dying. Once the vet determined it was allergic reaction to something in their home, the husband complained about not being able to use whatever was making the dog sick (we thought it may the swifer chemicals)..ONLY after we put him back up for adoption did they contact us and say they wanted him back...By them there was no way to trust them with his care. He is better off with a more experienced dog owner who will know when the dog needs to go to the vet. If anyone cares to learn the truth of the situation the rescue has all the email communications. It was a very stressful event and only the rescue took action to help the dog...So the family truly did not deserve the dog back.
Finding out they had given away a dog in the past was the last straw.
WE DID NOT keep their leash and collar, we only had the collar, which we mailed back

My family started the process of adopting a wonderful little beagle named doc. We took him home for the trial but found out he had some allergies. This shelter offered to take him and get him taken care of. When I called to check on him I spoke to one of the admins who I thought was helping me and I gave her a story of a dog I had in the past who was child aggressive and I had to give to an aunt of mine. The admin shut down.. rushed me off the phone after telling me doc would be put up for adoption at a Petco the next day. I didnt understand. So my wife filled out the application. She didnt know much about my old dog whom I rehomed with a good family. And they said she lied on the application and not only disqualified us from adopting with them again but took the dog and took our collar and leash which we paid for without returning it. Probably about 30 bucks. My family is devastated and heart broken. Do not trust these people. They say they care but they do not care about getting these dogs with good family's. If I could rate less than 1 star I would

This is a wonderful organization based on volunteers and foster homes. They take in countless homeless dogs from communities and assist with high risk cases. Kudos to a job well done.

Unprofessional and unsympathetic to the needs of humans. They treat humans inferior to dogs and I find that rather distrubing. I will never support this non profit organization and will stick to the humanity work I do for babies and mothers.

This is a wonderful group. They have no employee's, only volunteers so every penny donated goes directly to the pets they save. Just amazing work.
