My 7 year old daughter snuck an egg from a barnyard. Wrapped it in a blanket. Held it on her lap for the two hour drive home. We were certain it would never hatch. He became the love of her life. Sleeping next to her bed, enduring the doll outfits she dressed him in, sitting on her lap while she did homework or watched TV. He taught her responsibility, compassion and kindness. She became a vegetarian because of him. She learned what an Ornithologist was and considered becoming one someday. He calmed her wild heart and inspired her to be still for long peaceful moments. When he was 6 months old, Henry began loudly announcing to the world how much he loved Ava. A neighbor complained (not everyone speaks Rooster) Animal Control forced a little girl to give up her baby. After searching endlessly for a new home (nobody wants a rooster) Michele and Joey at Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue said, "Yes!...of course....we can take him...and Ava can visit whenever she likes." They are an amazing young couple caring for over a hundred rescued animals. They have great volunteers, but whenever we visit Joey and Michelle are always hard at work cleaning pens and mending fences. Henry only lived two more years. No one really knows why he died. We think he died of a broken heart. Michele and Joey had to make that heart wrenching phone call to us. They are good people doing incredible work. Hooves and Paws is one of the BEST rescues EVER!!

My time is limited, but I make time to be a board member of Hooves & Paws because the commitment, the devotion, the caring, and the love for these animals at this rescue are remarkable and, quite frankly, unparalleled. Hooves & Paws maintains a clean, loving environment for animals that have no where else to go. No questions asked. The commitment to animals is pure, genuine, and limitless. Sick animals get the proper medical treatment. Special needs animals get the proper accommodations. And when a critter's time finally comes, it gets the proper respectful burial. I'm proud to be associated with this rescue and anyone who cares for animals needs to come out to visit us and see that this is the real deal.

I have not had much experience with rescues but I must say I was very surprized at how caring and concerned they were with the proper placement of their animals. An aquaintaince of mine adopted one of their rescued dogs. I could not believe all the site requirements, inspections and follow up checks they needed. It is obvious this organization places the health and happiness of their many animals as its top priority. I only wish our government agencies were as committed our fellow creatures.

I have volunteered at Hooves and Paws Animal Rescue since February 2011. I love Hooves and Paws, and think it is an amazing place. The owners Rescue unwanted farm animals, and dogs, and rehabilitate them and give them everything they need. The owners truly love the animals, and strive to take care of every animal individually, and figure out what they need, and make sure they have it. I love spending time with all the animals, and the owners as well. I am so grateful to be able to be a part of this amazing place.

We have had the opportunity to deal with Hooves and Paws on several occasions and have always been very impressed. There is nothing more important to them than the health and happiness of the animals that need help. We have a lot of respect for what they do, im sure it's not always easy but they make sure everyone of their animals are taken care of. We highly recommend this rescue.

I volunteer a couple times a month with Hooves and Paws. It is such a wonderful place and being with the animals is amazing. I think I get more out of it than I give. To anyone who wants to volunteer or donate to an animal rescue I can't think of a better rescue to give your time or money to than Hooves and Paws. And the people who run the place are so very appreciative of any help they get which in turn makes me feel good. Being part of Hooves and Paws is a win-win experience in my book.

What an amazing rescue!!! I donate each month and I know my money is going to a worthy cause and being used to help the animals and not administrative expenses. The volunteers who run Hooves and Paws are amazing with the animals and have dedicated their lives to better the lives of all of these needy animals who have been abused or neglected. I have visited the rescue several times and the animals all seem so well taken care of and happy. So many rescues nowadays are out for personal profit and yet the people who run Hooves and Paws do not take a dime. Complete and total self sacrifice for a greater cause. Who can ask for more from a rescue?
