Youth Development Programs
Mission: “Our mission is to impact community youth through a life skills based educational program. Utilizing basketball as the vehicle to support youth with life challenges and leadership opportunities both on and off the court.”
Results: To date since January 2012: Over 500 scholarships have been awarded and funds raised in the amount of $260,000. Our Fundraising is grass roots and our larger fundraising efforts includes Golf Tournaments , Annual Galas and our Corvette Half-court shot event. We also receive support through individuals, local businesses, and local grants. Our recent grants include contributions from The Harper Family Foundation, Charles B and Mary M. McLin Foundation, the Mount Dora Community Trust, Adventist Health System (Waterman), Hans & Cay Jacobsen Foundation, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Wells Fargo Advisors, National Christian Foundation/The Pietkiewicz Giving Fund, South Lake Community Foundation, and Lake County Children’s Services Council, Florida Elks, Main Street Leasing, G3 Development, and Project Legacy.
Target demographics: Youth boys and girls ages 7-14yrs old overcome obstacles in life and assist them in achieving more in life.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 100 local children in our community.
Geographic areas served: Partnering with communities, schools, families, and children under Social Responsibility around Central Florida Youth development.
Programs: 3 (12 week) Leadership programs. (Phase 1 , 2, 3) Children are provided a safe place to discover self-awareness, and gain the application in achieving goals, and team building with effective communication and conflict resolution.
