Nonprofit Overview

Mission: HOOAH (Helping Out Our American Heroes) is an all-volunteer organization that exists to support active duty military, veterans and their families. All contributions are used to provide services and cover operational expenses related to those services. Our support activities include working to put an end to suicide, assisting in reintegration into the civilian world, providing care packages, welcoming home injured veterans and by upgrading homes to meet the needs of our injured heroes. We have two very successful national programs: • Victory for 22 – This program assists veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We send vets to a week-long retreat designed to help vets with PTSD at the Veterans Alternative (http://www.veteransalternative.org/) facility in Tampa. We are also paying for the Accelerated Resolution Therapy certification of mental health professionals when they agree to treat vets free of charge. Click here for more information: https://hooahinc.org/victory-for-22/. • Military K9 Memorial – We are working with the Ranger Regiment to build a long-overdue memorial at Ranger Regimental Headquarters in Fort Benning, GA to honor canine heroes who have saved soldiers’ lives by sacrificing their own. https://hooahinc.org/military-k9-memorial/ Our growing network of state chapters provides volunteers with opportunities for both camaraderie and direct involvement in meaningful activities. We currently have 9 state chapters. Our goal is to have active chapters in all 50 states. Chapters work on missions in their own states. To paraphrase a portion of the Ranger Creed, we’re committed to shouldering more than our share of the task … “100% and then some.” We’re also proud to serve all branches of the military. Thank you for your interest, your support and your involvement in helping us fulfill our mission. Thank you for helping us “Help Out Our American Heroes.” HOOAH!

Just found out about this group this summer of 2014. Found out they are an ALL VOLUNTEER group with all donations going to help veterans. I am tired of some veteran help groups having board members taking 6 figure salaries. I now wont support those groups but will support HOOAH. I want my money helping vets.

I donate to very few organizations and make sure all profits go to the group for which they are intended. 2nd HOOAH Ga. is one I donate to and believe all HOOAH groups are wonderful. The work hard for our servicemen and women - who are working hard for us.

A few times my organization has worked with HOOAH, and they are very professional and driven for their cause. I have never seen a group of volunteers work so hard for something they truly believe in. Their causes are helping our nations warriors at all times and for any need. I remember hearing that they provided coordination and transportation for family members who lost a warrior down range. All of this while the government sad on theirs hands due to the sequestration. That was powerful. No monies are paid for any salaries and most of the time they pay their own expenses, that is service. I invite anyone to check them out, they would be impressed for sure.

This was the first year we participated in their motorcycle ride and I was very impressed with their entire operation. We will definitely be riding with them again! Great people, wonderful organization and an impressive mission.

I have been donating to this organization since 2011. I am very picky about who gets my charitable dollars. The first thing that attracted me to this group was its overall mission in helping those who defend our freedom. The next thing that attracted me to them was the fact that NO ONE in their organization gets paid; this is a 100% volunteer driven group. The next thing that lead me to donate to HOOAH was that they do things in the communities / states where the chapters reside, which also helps drive economic impact in those communities (people spend while there!). All in all, there are few charities that have grown legs like this one has and have done so with strictly volunteer labor. They are very transparent about the organization and if you want to talk to someone they will actually take the time to communicate with you and answer your questions about their group. They get an A+ rating from me.
