Working with the Veteran community can be one of the most rewarding and heart wrenching experiences I've had both professionally and personally. Being on the other end of a phone line of hopelessness is one of the hardest positions I've ever found myself in. HonorBound Foundation offers hope in some of the most uncertain times for the clients we serve. As a case manager, my role navigates the indepth needs of a veteran family holistically. HonorBound Fondation financial assistance referrals allows for me to work with the Veterans on additional areas of need without fear of a critical financial payment being missed. Because of HonorBound Foundation, a single dad fed his teenage daughter. Because of HonorBound a new Police Officer was able to keep his phone connected during a 30 no pay period. Because of HonorBound a husband and father was able to have the family vehicle repaired so he could go back and forth to work. This is just a few of the situations that they have offered hope. Because of HonorBound Foundation, lives have been changed for the better.
I cannot count the number of times that Honorbound has helped me house a veteran experiencing homelessness! Due to the flexibility of how the funds can be used as well as how quickly claims are processed, I have been able to use this money for security and utility deposits. Most community resources will not allow their funds to be used for this. HonorBound is often my only hope!! I also credit HonorBound with assisting many of my veterans in keeping their housing as I can request the money be used for car repairs. This assistance has made the difference between a veteran being able to keep his or her job and stay housed, or lose absolutely everything. The assistance that Honorbound provides is invaluable!!
I cannot thank HonorBound Foundation enough for all that they do. They are the most dependable, timely, and kind hearted organization I have had the pleasure working with. I am a caseworker with the USO of North Carolina and on a daily basis I work with Veterans, Active Duty, and their family members. I receive countless cases of Veterans in crisis. If only, you could hear the amount of relief and the tears of joy the moment I tell them HonorBound Foundation was able to assist with their bill(s). It is such a blessing and a breath of fresh air. HonorBound Foundation takes action and gets the job done again and again. I would be lost without them and I am grateful every time they assist. HonorBound Foundation's impact makes a lasting difference that shows Veterans they are not forgotten and their sacrifice does not go unnoticed.
I was amazed at the responsiveness of HonorBound in assisting Veterans here in CT. As a VA Social Worker I find many Veterans who fall through the cracks of other charitable organizations, making them ineligible for assistance. Honorbound has been there as a safety net for these Veterans with a user friendly application process, flexible criteria, and an incredibly fast turn around time. Thank you Honorbound - you're the best!
One of the best veteran organizations out there! I have used Honorbound for years to help the veterans I serve. Always very fast with their assistance! I depend on Honorbound A LOT and they always come through for me! Very easy to work with, as well. I highly recommend Honorbound!
Thank you Honor Bound Foundation for all the wonderful financial assistance you give to the veterans with whom I work here at the Hershel "Woody" Williams VAMC in Huntington West Virginia. Our veterans and I are very grateful for your help. How nice it is to know that when unexpected life events happen and finances/expenses get out of control that Honor Bound is willing and able to give a helping hand. That one time help with a utility bill or rent payment to get back on track is such a tangible way for veterans to know they are loved and appreciated for their service. THANK YOU!!!!
I have had the pleasure of working with HonorBound for close to two years now. I can't tell you the number of veterans they were able to help me out with. I work with veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home. When these veterans call me, they are in crisis. Most of the veterans in crisis I have come across have no support system as well.
One of the things that helps is relieving them of financial burdens that are making it difficult for them to get through their current trauma. Recently, Susan from HonorBound paid off a large, overdue gas bill that a veteran could not pay off and they were at risk of having their utilities shut off. I was with them when I told them their bill was paid. The sigh of relief was palpable. It also signaled to the veteran that there is help around them and there is hope in getting through their crisis. Now this veteran is able to use the little money they have to put out the smaller fires they can actually address.
HonorBound is flexible in what expenses they can pay for and how they pay for it, making them very easy to work with. They also work very quickly and communicate clearly and promptly. These are other great aspects of HonorBound's program. I hope HonorBound continues to get the funding they deserve as they are such a benefit to the veteran community.
I am a Veteran Service Officer out of Missouri and I have used the HonorBound Foundation for Veterans in our State that need assistance. This organization is truly a wonderful resource for Veterans nation wide. I urge anyone who is in need or assistance, or resources to reach out to this organization. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you just need a little assistance to get things back in order... HonorBound Foundation can be the help you're looking for. As a Veteran Service Officer, I am proud to partner with this nonprofit organization to be able to help our Veterans and see the smiles one their faces when they are able to get the assistance they need.
Honorbound has been of great assistance to my veterans when needing financial assistance immediately and in times of crisis. They have been responsive, updating me when they receive the application, if items are missing, and when assistance has been provided. They have saved my veterans from going into homelessness several times. Thank you for all your help and support!
I work for the USO of North Carolina as a Military Family Outreach Specialist and I can't tell you how many times Honorbound Foundation has not only come to the rescue but saved lives! The unique ability that this organization is able to do is mind blowing because they have the quickest turn around time when it comes emergency financial assistance and if I knew about them when I was Active Duty I would have went to them. Attention if you are looking for a Veteran Service Organization that takes care of Veterans and their families and puts their money where their mouth is this is the organization you want to donate to!
As a Social Worker who works with Post 9/11 Veterans in Madison, WI , I have used HonorBound Foundation countless times to help Veterans with financial need. HonorBound Foundation is consistently prompt and dependable offering financial assistance to Veterans who are dealing with service related illness or injury. The financial assistance that HonorBound Foundation provides, decreases financial stress and allows Veterans to focus on their health and getting back to work.
I have found HonorBound foundation to be incredibly reliable and easy to work with. They keep the referral process simple and there are no hoops to jump through. I am ever grateful to this amazing foundation that has helped many of the Veterans that have sacrificed so much!
Honorbound has helped so many Veterans in need of financial help. I've had Veterans on the verge of getting their lights, water, gas etc..... turned off and Honorbound stepped in and help pay the bill. I'm very grateful that such an agency exist for our Veterans.
This was my first time using HonorBound Foundation, Inc. for assistance with a Veteran.
After exhausting all of my resouces, I reached out to HonorBound Foundation and Susan guided me through the process. Susan went over and beyond my expectations.
I would recomend and support HonorBound Foundation to anyone in need of assistance. Anyone wanting to donate to a charity and not sure which one, HonorBound Foundation, INC, is highly noteworthy. This charity will ensure the Veteran recieves the assistance that is well deserved.
HonorBound Foundation truely cares for the Veterans not just by words but by action.
Thank You HonorBound Foundation for taking such wonderful care of our Veterans!
This program is a lifesaver for Veteran's. I am a VA case manager and refer many Veterans here for one time assistance with a financial burden that has the potential to jeopardize their stability and cause them to return to homelessness. They truly help in areas that other organizations won't - such as a car repair bill that will help a Veteran to keep their job. I am so thankful to have this resource and appreciate the donors and managers of this foundation greatly. Not only that, but these matters are time-sensitive and Honorbound responds so quickly to help. They are truly a blessing to low income Veterans when life brings an unexpected cost they can't absorb.
in my time working as a LCSW at the Department of Veteran Affairs I have worked with several organization that claim to help Veterans. Honor Bond foundation is by far the absolute most amazing and best organization. Honor Bound always follows up and comes through in a quick turnaround. other organizations do not even come close to Honor Bounds commitment to helping Veterans in need. I have helped so many Veterans get out of tight spots and moving ahead with their lives just because of the help Honor Bound provided them. I wish all organizations including the nationally well know ones would stop and take a page out of the book of Honor Bound. They are the best on class for helping Veterans in need end of story. sincerely Eric L. Dungan, MSSW, LCSW
I work for a non profit that addresses the barriers to homelessness and unemployment. I use Honor Bound to assist in areas that we are not able, and they continue to provide prompt, caring and excellent customer service and support. I constantly brag to my clients about how amazing this organization is, especially when I explain that I am sending a referral in for them, and they are skeptical. Every promise I have made to my clients about Honor Bound about who quick they respond and how well they handle every clients situation, has always been proven to my clients and they are so appreciative for such a wonderful organization!
HonorBound has done a fantastic job serving mutual Veterans in need. We are so grateful for their ongoing partnership.
I work with homeless veterans and their families and in my position it is very hard to find financial assistance to assist them with everyday needs and necessities.
I found out about the HonorBound Foundation about a year ago when one of my clients found himself with out lights in his home. The client was a single dad and doing everything possible to provide for his child, but being unemployed was taking a toll on him. I reached out to the HonorBound Foundation and they provided assistance to my client and got his electricity turned back on with hours.
Every since that day, I have been working with this agency to provided assistance to my clients. Not only myself, but my clients are so greatful and appreciative to this organization for being the true blessing that they are. I am truly blessed as a case manager to have found this organization. I hope and pray they HonorBound is recognized for the superior work that they are doing to help the veterans who served this country. I can honestly say, without HonorBound, I would not be able to help as many veterans as I do. Thank you HonorBound Foundation and all of its wonderful and helpful employees. I appreciate you an look forward to continuing working with you to assist our veterans in need.
I work for an organization whose mission is to assist and connect Veterans and their Families with resources that improve their lives. It is my distinct pleasure to write about an organization that plays an integral role in my organization’s overall success in this goal, namely the HonorBound Foundation Inc. I must say, HonorBound is an organization that is beyond reproach in the services and financial assistance they provide. My organization is a local non-profit that finds Veterans and their Families in a number of sad predicaments, in particular financial dire straits. My colleagues and I work with these Veterans on both their short and long term needs by utilizing a wholistic approach in assisting them and almost all if not most, need immediate financial assistance. HonorBound is the go-to organization I turn to and I not only obtain these finances but receive it in a very timely manner as well. Also, to our delight, there is a simple process in obtaining these resources and without any red tape as most other organizations’ process would require.
As a Veteran myself, you could only imagine what it means to have an organization such as this. It’s unfortunate to say but many Veterans are either reluctant and/or embarrassed to ask for assistance and the last thing they need is to receive the run around. The assistance HonorBound provides is life changing and they should be commended. When we find these Veterans, most have exhausted all other avenues of support. If anyone is considering donating to an organization, there is no other worthier than HonorBound. It has been my experience, there is no other organization that simply and more readily provide the much needed funding to one our nations most valued assets, Veterans. HonorBound Foundation Inc., I SALUTE YOU!!
Alvin, Veteran Advocate
Thank you for your kindness to veterans and God Bless you for the help you give it is appreciated.
Hi I'm posting on behave of my husband Jason, whom is a disabled Army Vet. Our family moved into our forever home last March 2018 and had to have the main water line replaced from the street to our house. Upon getting that fixed we were struggling with an extremely high water bill. My husband had his 7th knee surgery last August and we have been struggling with our high water bill since he was out of work for 3 months. Getting faced with a disconnection notice, Honorbound stepped in to help and paid our high water bill. We are forever grateful for the help that we've received from this organization. From the bottom of our hearts our family thanks you for your support.
Sue Tosto and her team work diligently and quickly to assist veterans and their family in crisis state. They are willing to communicate with the case managers, effectively expediting any application that may have questions or concerns about being approved. Generally, when the foundation has funds and a veteran is eligible, payments are made or sent the next business day. They are amazing and a God-send to our nation's heroes!
HonorBound has been instrumental in assisting many of our clients with short-term financial needs. Without this assistance, these veterans would experience further hardship, to include loss of jobs, housing instability and even homelessness. The HonorBound team is easy to engage, quick to respond, and equally swift in determining if they are able to assist. We appreciate their support of our veterans!
As a Social Worker working with Veterans experiencing homelessness, I refer to HonorBound Foundation, Inc when unable to secure assistance via available community resources. Every time that I have submitted a referral or have a question- staff at HonorBound respond quickly, professionally and with the Veteran's best interest at heart. Working with HonorBound is a pleasure, they always go out of their way to assist us as Case Managers and to assist the Veterans. Thank you for all that you do! You have as assisted in improving the lives of so many Veterans and their families. We are truly thankful for your assistance.
Working for a federal department who serves veterans exclusively, I must say that the HonorBound Foundation is in a class of their own where they are second to none.
My husband is a 100% disabled Veteran and although he is compensated by the government urgent things still arise where we do not have the ability financially to make extra money to take care of these essential situations. While working on an urgent financial situation with our Veterans Resource Specialist, Jami, she mentioned a wonderful organization called “Honor Bound” that could possibly assist us. She told us what documentation was needed for assistance and helped by beginning and completing that process with Honor Bound. It was just a matter of a few days and assistance was received by paying an electrical bill which resulted in no loss of electricity. I can’t begin to explain what a relief and blessing this was to our family and our Veteran who often feels at a loss to take care of issues normally anyway with his disabilities. They are truly a blessing and have the upmost respect for Veterans always. Thank you again Honor Bound!! What you are doing is so needed in the Veteran community!
My Husband and I both had to have surgery, my husband ending up have two surgery. We got behand on all ours bills, wasn't sure where to turn, so I stared by calling our local veteran and family support , they wasted no time helping my husband and I to take care of some bills that we got so far behind on that we didn't think we would every get paid.
Again Thank You Honor Bound Foundation,
God Bless you all
I am so appreciative for the HonorBound Foundation. They have helped many of our veterans on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a range of different issues. A very worthwhile organization!!
Gerry Roy, Social Worker
I am a social worker and the HonorBound Foundation, Inc. has been an INVALUABLE resource for the veterans that I work with. I can not express the gratitude that I have for the prompt, professional, and courteous manner in which they provide assistance. I know that when I make an appropriate referral, the veteran WILL receive the help that they need . Thanks HonorBound for providing such compassionate service to those who have provided such sacrifice and service for all of us.
I'm a social worker with the Hampton VAMC. This organization has time and again assisted veterans I work with resolving various financial challenges. The staff is always pleasant and a pleasure to work with. They have been an asset to me.
To all of those out there who care about veterans:
If you are looking for a highly honorable and helpful foundation to donate to:
Please consider HonorBound Foundation:
In the five years that I have been a Veterans Service Officer for Porter County, IN I have reached out to them for the veterans in need that I deal with on numerous occasions: each time they have come through for them.
One of the best things is that they are able to act so swiftly:
My latest example:
I filled out an application for a veteran who desperately needed some new clothes for interviews while he is out looking for employment.
This morning I find in my work email inbox an email that $300 in Walmart gift cards will be mailed out to him today.
This is Real Help; Real Fast!
HonorBound is truly honorable!!
Paulina B. Huffman
Asst . Veterans Service Officer
Porter County, IN
As a Social Worker (VA Hospital), I face limitless obstacles when financial distress hit our Veteran. Loss of income, illness, hospitalization, exploitation are some of the many issues that our heroes experience that could trigger a financial crisis.
The HonorBound Foundation have said present and have been ready to "jump in" when I reach out seeking assistance for our Veteran. The application process is straight forward and their response is always prompt.
For that, Thanks you HonorBound Foundation, Inc.
Social Worker, Richmond, Virginia.
Excellent program. I am a SSVF case worker with the Salvation Army and this company is extremely helpful for covering some of the gaps in helping veterans. Always quick to respond and very friendly.
I work for an SSVF program for Rapid Rehousing of Veterans and prevention to help them keep from loosing their homes. I have found HonorBound to be very helpful with deposits, utilities and encouragement, even if they can't help. Ms. Tosto and her board are treasures and always work quickly and efficiently to help our Veterans with often less then a twenty-four turn-around for approval. When a Veteran is looking at getting into a home or trying to save the home they are already in, this can mean a huge help. Thank you HonorBound!!
Honorbound Foundation has consistently supported the NJ homeless veteran population. Their assistance has been an invaluable positive in these veterans lives. In addition, the process is very straight forward and the staff is extremely professional. Honorbound Foundation has my highest regard.
I am a resource specialist working with veterans and their families. Honorbound was able to help a veteran family obtain needed transportation to get to work and to much needed VA appointments. This assistance was provided by honorbound when other organizations were unable to assist.
I am so thankful to HonorBound Foundation for helping an Army Veteran who needed help with his car payment. He'd been working, but business was slow, less hours and finally was laidoff. He was juggling his funds to try and pay everyone that he could, but then just ran out. HBF paid his car payment (two months). Wow, what a relief for him!!! Thank You HBF, thank you all and especially to the donors of HonorBound Foundation!!! Randi
The service provided by HonorBound is outstanding! The referral process is easy and the turn-around time for responses is timely, which is extremely important to a person in need. As a service provider, I can truly say that this organization has made a difference in the lives of many of my clients, especially when they were up against the wall with nowhere else to turn. I have nothing but great things to say about this nonprofit. Keep up the great work!
As executive director of a 501c3 nonprofit, Veterans Residential Services of Wilson, it is wonderful to work with such a fantastic agency as HonorBound Foundation. They always are willing to help a deserving Veteran. I recently referred a Veteran who was trying to get her family back together after being apart for six months due to a relocation. They were so generous to help with the deposit for the utilities. Last Friday a female Veterans was together with her family for the first time in six months due to HonorBound helping with the final piece of the puzzlw. Thanks for helping us make this possible!
I work for a non-profit SSVF program in Gainesville, Florida. We work with HonorBound on a regular basis and they have really saved some of our veterans that are in emergency circumstances. They've helped prevent utilities from being shut off and they've also prevented veterans from becoming homeless as well as getting homeless veterans into housing. The turn around time from when a initial referral is sent out to when the situation is resolved is amazing. I have not had a single bad interaction with this organization and I'd highly recommend them to anyone that is assisting veterans.
I work for Endeavors, Inc. Our program is a rapid rehousing program for homeless veterans. The HonorBound Foundation has been instrumental in helping us achieve our mission. The partnership is invaluable. HonorBound is a blessing to all veterans in need of a hand up.
HonorBound Foundation always comes through for me when I am trying to get assistance for our veterans. Great communication and always a quick response. There are non-profits that are out there that say they assist veterans but rarely come through. HonorBound is not one of those, they say they help and they do. They are truly in the business of Helping those who have served.
HonorBound assisted a struggling, unemployed and recently homeless veteran restore his driver's license. This veteran has had a lot of trouble finding employment and has had minimal ability to get to job interviews because he did not have a current driver's license. After receiving assistance from the HonorBound foundation this veteran now has the opportunity to obtain employment near his home and also will have more doors open to him going forward. This will, in turn, assist this veteran with maintaining his current housing and deter the possibility of him becoming homeless again. HonorBound was extremely prompt with providing assistance once they received a referral for this veteran and ensured that the process for restoring his license was successful.
I am a social worker for the a VA Homeless Program in Kansas. This agency has been such a help to many Veterans, especially living in rural areas without access to any other assistance. There are many Veterans I work with who would be homeless right now if not for the assistance of HonorBound. Homelessness is scary enough but made worse by the fact that many I serve are of an advanced age and could not realistically manage in a shelter. Thank you to this amazing agency and all those who donate to such a great cause. Truthfully, I just would not be able to do my job without the help of this resource.
I work at the VA Hospital in Atlanta. I have referred countless Veterans to the HonorBound Foundation (formerly National Veterans Services Fund). Where most organizations have very restrictive requirements that prevent my Vets from qualifying for help, HonorBound Foundation is much more flexible and willing to look at each individual situation before making a decision whether they will help or not. The staff are extremely easy to work with and the turn around receiving financial assistance for my Vets is extremely fast! This is essential when you are working with someone who is having a true financial emergency and needs help quick. To be honest, this is really the only national organization that I can depend on to help the Veterans I work with on a consistent basis. I don't have time to jump through the endless hoops that many other organizations require, only for my Veteran to still be denied in the end. I greatly appreciate the efforts of HonorBound Foundation and wish that they had more money to help even further!
Honor Bound assisted a Veteran to get their electricity back on! They were so quick and responsive; I was shocked at their turnaround! Truly amazing; thank you for the work you do for our Veterans!
HonorBound is a phenomenal organization, dedicated to assisting veterans. I recently worked with them to assist two clients with utility bills. We were all amazed and very grateful that this organization was ready, willing and able to resolve issues they were facing. Words are not sufficient to express how much I appreciate Honor Bound for all they do.
-Ha’Lecia, Case Manager
I am a Social Worker at a local Veteran non profit in my area. I have had to request assistance from NVSF several times when we could not find local resources to help our Vets. When the Vets were eligible and the amounts were under the $500 requirement, NVSF always approved them to receive the assistance. We are very appreciative of this agency and the service that it offers to the Vets here. The program services director is quick to respond and good about communicating if something is missing that they need.
I am a case manager for a nonprofit that serves homeless veterans. I have reached out to the NVSF on many occasions for assistance with matters that my organization is unable to assist. The NVSF has helped so many of my Veterans. They always go above and beyond to help! They are also extraordinarily quick with their assistance. Thank you so much for all that you have done for my homeless Veterans.
A staff member for a Veteran non-profit in Charleston, I could not make the impact I have made in the Charleston area without their trusted support and collaboration. There efforts alongside our own have helped so many of our Veterans which their crisis situations. I know when I reach out to them that they will be ready and willing to help in anyway they can. As a housing advocate, I could not make the impact I make without great partners and NVSF is at the top of the list.
As a volunteer for a Veteran Service Organization, I have referred several Veterans to NVSF. The life changing assistance that they provide is second to none. If you have donated to NVSF in the past, thank you for your support and please continue to give. If you have not donated to this Organization there is no finer non profit worth your generosity. Please donate!!
Via my Social Worker/Case Worker, I was able to receive financial assistance on 2 situations.
1.) Background Check Fee paid; for starting my own Pet Sitting/Walking/Caring service via a National Pet Care Company.
2.)Utility Bill paid. I received a "cut off" notice.
All this happened within a few days. The paperwork was submitted on Thursday/Friday, by that Monday, both were paid.
I am VERY grateful, for the quick work and effort from my Case Worker/Social Worker as well as the organization for its quick/timely response.
For every one person that is dissatisfied with the service of this organization, there are at least 10 others that are. I am a case manager who was referred to the NVSF to get assistance for a vet. They came through with flying colors. I as well as the vet in question Thank YOU! The job you do can not be easy. The USA is a big place and not everyone will be satisfied.
I work for an agency who coordinates resources & care for military connected families. We are grateful for the support and assistance from NVSF. We worked diligently to assist one of our community Veterans negotiate terms to have his electric utility services restored. His family had been without power for 1 week. When our veteran had no where to turn and our options seemed to distant to reach, NVSF was there with help with professionalism unparalleled to any system that I have ever seen. In addition, the way NVSF is set up, agencies are required to exhaust their efforts at seeking support before it is recommended to include NVSF. This way those Veterans who need the help the most have the opportunity at NVSF support. I hope that the nation recognizes this organization for the work that they do and funders continue to support their efforts. Thank you NVSF!
It's as simple as this...you're going to find good and bad reviews on most charities but where the rubber meets the road is about the money. Where does the money go? Over 2/3 goes to fundraising...that's right, partying! They take your hard earned money you graciously give to them and they stay in nice hotels and live it up while only 25% of the money they receive goes to those in need.
So do the math on that... They spend .67 cents to make a quarter to use on our nations veterans. Numbers are based on 2015 tax returns and form 990!
The President makes almost $125k in salary and compensation for an organization that makes less than ten million dollars. Don't be fooled by these people... This is simply welfare for the rich! Take a look at this section of form 990 showing all these expenses...especially professional fund raising!
What would we have done without NVSF! I am a social worker who works with veterans from all eras. I often encounter veterans who are facing financial hardship. NVSF has assisted two of my clients. One with car payment. This particular veteran used his car to travel to and from medical appointments. Due to extenuating circumstances he and his wife fell behind on here bills. NVSF paid their car note, they are now back on their feet and he has made all of his medical appointments.
In the second situation, the veteran on my caseload recently discharge from the military after 17 years of service. He was having a difficult time adjusting to civilian life. He feel behind on his rent and was facing eviction. NVSF assisted with his past due rent to ensure that his housing was secured.
These two veterans were so grateful for the assistance provided by NVSF. As their social worker, I truly appreciate the assistance as well. The staff has always been very responsive and easy to communicate with via email and phone! We Thank you for assisting our nations veterans who have faced financial hardship!
I work for an organization that helps homeless Veterans find permanent housing. Our assistance is limited and temporary. We always try to find other resources for our Veterans to help out in any way to alleviate some financial burdens. NVSF has always come to the rescue. They have a quick turn around and are communicative on any questions we have for them. On behalf of the Veterans in our program, we would like to thank you for all that you do. You make a difference in their lives.
I recently worked with a 80-year-old veteran who had been experiencing homelessness for the past year. He was sleeping on the streets while carrying all of his possessions with him. Recently he was able to secure housing, however he did not own any household goods including even the most basic of items such as a bed. NVSF assisted with obtaining a brand new bed and mattresses for the veteran! Recently he told me he had been sleeping on the bed for about a week, it was delivered on the day he moved in and "Best sleep I’ve gotten for over a year". Thank you to this wonderful organization for all of your hard work and assistance.
Thank you NVSF for helping me get my truck insured for the next six months as I use my truck to collect pallets for a living. Your agency really helped me during a time that was pretty tough to get through on my own. I have a hard time asking for help and your agency came through. Much appreciated. Mahalo
I am a Case Manager for a local Non-profit organization in California, we assist homeless veterans. They have helped our clients across the State, and were extremely easy to work with. The Program Services Manager is prompt on emails and contacting me back. This is a GREAT RESOURCE for veterans in need.
This agency has helped numerous homeless veterans in our community obtain housing! We have been shocked by their generosity, especially since, they are way out in Connecticut and we are in California!
A friend of mine was suppose to receive funds. They "Paid" his electric bill and then they "took" payment back. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CHARITY.
Do not donate to this "charity." Once they suck you in you will NEVER get get rid of them. They will not communicate with you either. And they will never stop. They are also listed on Americas Worst Charities. Sorta says it all.
Terrible organization. As a social worker who has referred my homeless and disabled veteran clients as a last resort to this place for financial assistance when our organization cannot help them - not one has ever gotten any help from NVSF despite following all the specifications outlined on the application form. Instead, we've only have nasty communications from the people running NVSF. Stay FAR away, and seek out a BBB-accredited organization to donate to. This place is the worst of the worst scams - only 16 cents on the dollar makes it (if ever) to a veteran in need. Also - their bookkeeper was recently arrested for embezzling $186,000.00 from the organization and the amount could be up to $830,000.00. Needless to say, we will not be referring individuals to this place ever again.
