I have been a volunteer for Homeward Alliance since they opened a new warehouse about 9 years ago. They totally won me over with their dedication, sincerity, compassion and hard work. They value their volunteers and make it easy to find the best fit for one's talents.
Mine happens to be a procurer of things they need to assist their clients. ie: outerwear, backpacks, shoes, ect.
David Rout, the Executive Director, does an excellent job of keeping tabs on all expenditures and being forthrite in providing those figures to those who may be interested.

Programs: Homeward Alliance (HWA) operates 11 programs and initiatives that provide a wide range of supports—everything from basic-needs supplies to employment counseling, housing assistance and long-term case management—to thousands of individuals each year. Programs include a continuum of eleven programs and initiatives: Housing First Initiative, One Village One Family, Hand Up, Re-Entry, Dedicated Navigator, Street Outreach, Children in Need, Bicycle Repair and Distribution, Mobile Laundry (new in 2019) and the Murphy Center, our community’s “one-stop-shop” resource center for people experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Collectively, our efforts help people meet their immediate and long-term needs while furthering our community’s plan to make homelessness rare, short-lived and non-recurring. HWA seeks to provide evidence-based services that produce positive outcomes for people of all ages experiencing or seeking to avoid homelessness and, simultaneously, lead or participate in system-level efforts to address the issue.
