Mission: Provide emergency, transitional and housing services to homeless individuals in the county of santa cruz.

Programs: Founded in 1986, homeless services center (hsc) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a pathway out of homelessness to families and individuals living in santa cruz county. We provide a continuum of emergency, transitional and housing services through five programs: 1. Daytime essential services center (desc) provides daily meals, showers, mail service, computer access and clothing. Desc also offers work-readiness workshops, aa and na meetings, poetry workshops and a plethora of community service/participant volunteer opportunities. 2. Paul lee loft emergency shelter (pll) provides emergency 30 to 90 day shelter to up to 50 homeless individuals nightly. During the winter, hsc operates the winter shelter program that provides 100 additional emergency shelter beds each night from november 15 through april 15. 3. Rebele family shelter (rfs) provides up to 180 days of emergency shelter to households with children. Rfs is open to mothers and/or fathers with children and provides stable shelter to 28 families (up to 90 individuals) per night. 4. Page smith community house (psch) is a transitional housing program that provides up to 18 months of supportive transitional housing to up to 40 individual men and women at a time. 5. Recuperative care center (rcc) provides 24 hour medically supported emergency shelter to individuals recovering from recent in-patient hospital stays. All of hsc's programs provide case management services to participants as well as provide a vibrant campus life with access to on-site medical care through santa cruz county's homeless person's health project and encompass' community service's additional mental health-focused services for the homeless community.
