For many years, I worked in the traditional, corporate business. The past 10 years I worked as a volunteer for an organization that helped raise dollars and offer patient services with brain cancer. The past 5 weeks I have been working with Home of Hope, Inc. and have truly been amazed. The Board Members, Project and Fundraising Committees are made of volunteers, and what they have acomplished is breathtaking. HOH helps support 16 locations in India and recently have been working with a school for deaf children in Berkeley, California. The enthusiasm of these professionals is amazing. The positive changes they have been able to provide children whose lives began with so many points against them is a gift from their hearts. Whether they are chosing to help educate young girls to become trained and convince their parents that being married at the age of 12 is not the best option; training orphaned children how to open their minds and welcome adulthood; providing a Library on Wheels to little ones in rural environments or combining deaf, hard-of-hearing and normal children to explore life is worth acknowledgement.
