I began rowing with Holyoke Rows about 7 years ago through their adaptive rowing program. When I first started, lots of things felt challenging. Stephanie was very supportive in my process of learning to row, and then setting higher goals. As my rowing abilities grew, I discovered that I love rowing long distances. With Stephanie's support, my cummulative total for this year's season is over 200K! Not everyone's cup of tea, but setting and reaching goals like this mean a lot to me, particularly since many people have the habit of assuming people with disabilities are capable of less.

When the people at Holyoke Rows say they are commited to helping everyone get out on the river, they mean everyone!

The Director of Holyoke Rows, Stephanie is not to be trusted with financial matters.
Our organization utilized their club in 2015 and have witnessed multiple unsafe events including the following: A gentleman who went out with his son in a kayak that flipped over in the middle of the strong river current and no staff member went out to rescue him. Boathouse staff said that he had a life vest on and , "can swim to shore."
At another event, 2-minors who were young girls went out in kayaks unsupervised and one of them tipped over and fell in. She began screaming and her screams were finally heard by Boathouse Director Stephanie who finally went out to rescue her.
I would definitely not recommend this club and I have since not donated to them.
