Mission: Founded in 1987 as a joint initiative of the Cook County, Ill. Department of Public Health and the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore, HIVCO grew out of the growing need in the northern suburbs of Chicago for HIV education and information and referral resources. Today, HIVCO has evolved into a leading suburban Chicago and rural provider of food and prevention services for clients in 11 counties. Its Hand-to-Hand Food Network is believed to be the largest food network in the state of Illinois. HIVCO's headquarters is located in Elk Grove Village, northwest of Chicago.
