Mission: The general purpose for which the corporation is formed is to operate exclusively for such charitable, religious, research, educational and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations described in sections 170(b)(1)(a) and 170(c) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provision of any subsequent federal tax law (the "code"), as will qualify the corporation as an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the code.
Programs: The organization generates revenue and incurs expenses in connection with (1) brian gay invitational golf tournament (bgi) entry fees, (2) individual and corporate sponsorship of bgi golf events, (3) silent auctions held at the bgi golf events, and (4) other charitable activities for the purpose of making distributions to organizations described in section 170(b)(1)(a) and 170(c) of the internal revenue code.
additionally, in 2014, drif created its second major charitable program, the disaster relief program ("drp"). The intent of the drp is to provide disaster relief to employees of diamond resorts corporation (and/or employees of affiliated or related organizations) facing present or future disasters. Drif, through the drp, provided emergency assistance to distressed employees in the los cabos, mexico, area in order to assist said employees in accessing basic necessities following widespread destruction caused by hurricane odile. 176 distressed employees were given assistance in the los cabos, mexico, area as a result of drif's activities.
