Mission: The non-profit Hillsboro Community Association is dedicated to maintaining, managing, protecting, and preserving the historic Old Stone School. From the time its doors opened in 1874 through the Spring of 1966, this building was a public school serving western Loudoun County in Virginia. After sitting vacant for 10 years and facing the threat of demolition, a group of residents and former students formed the HCA to save the building adopting these mission statements: 1) to preserve and restore the Old Hillsboro School, located on Virginia Route 9, Hillsboro, Virginia 20132; 2) to provide the community with the facilities for their necessary functions at the Old Hillsboro School and other places as are found to be necessary; 3) to be aware of other landmarks of historical importance in the Hillsboro area and see that they are preserved; and 4) to do any other lawful act related to those stated hereinabove.
