Mission: The mission of hac is to provide families access to a high quality early childhood education for children in the bronx. We are an inclusive community that values diversity in a child-centered environment. Our organization believes that children learn best when they are engaged in a rigorous curriculum and in an environment that promotes an optimal learning experience. Our instructional strategies ensure involvement and engagement of students with disabilities, developmentally advanced, struggling and linguistically diverse learners. Programs: Early learn program - an educational program for children ages two to six years old, for a maximum of ten hours per day. This program is designed to enable parents to become gainfully employed or attend school and to provide supportive and preventative services to children and their families during the day. Total days of care provided: 262.
special education & related support services - the agency operates several special education programs for children three to five years of age, which are funded and monitored by the new york state department of education. These programs evaluate and provide specialty services to an average of 117 special needs children each month respectively. Days of service provided: 180.
child and adult care food program (cacfp) - program operated by the agency provided nutritious meals to children, family and group day care homes that contributed to their wellness, health, growth and development.
