When I retired from my position in the defense industry, I looked for nonprofit organizations that I could support that aligned with my primary goal of increasing the number of young women who choose STEM careers. High-Tech High Heels is one of those organizations that I jumped feet first into. As a current board member, I'm so proud to be a member of an organization that is working to close the gender gap in STEM professions by increasing the number of girls entering into a college-level degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM). The organization is well run and is having a significant impact in the areas it focuses on through the High-Tech High Heels Grant Program. I love to hear every story from a young girl about how an activity that High-Tech High Heels has sponsored caused her to see herself in a career that she could never envision before.
High-Tech High Heels is working to close the gender gap in STEM. We do this by funding effective programs for girls and educators. We are preparing, inspiring, and educating girls in grades K-12, so when they get to college they are successful in STEM majors.
Help us to make a difference in the lives of girls!
