Causes: Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection

Mission: Our Mission is to: help communities improve quality of life for the people who live, work and play in our service area by: Coordinating and facilitating large Regional/Multi-jurisdiction projects. – Providing leadership – Bringing all the players to the table – Finding ways to enable all the players work together – Finding additional resources to implement those projects AND Assisting small communities and community organizations plan, develop and implement projects.

Results: Here’s a snap shot of our work: – Assisting 3 small community groups plan and implement their projects – Coordinating and facilitating 6 regional projects helping organizations work across jurisdictional boundaries. – Raised over $60,000 for the Upper Snake River Cloud Seeding Effort, the project put the equivalent of 2-Henry’s Lakes worth of extra snow in the mountains last winter. – Since January 2014 – brought in $190,000 in grants to support our partner’s projects – Since January 2012 – brought in about $800,000 in grants.

Geographic areas served: Southeastern Idaho

Programs: Ag Energy Efficiency Project has implemented 2,523,954 KwH in energy savings measures. Wild land Urban Interface Community Assistance Project has a fuels reduction cost share program. The property owners were very pleased and excited about the program. Creating a defensible space was the focus. Two Cooperative Weed Management Areas (Henry's Fork and Upper Snake) are treating 10,391 acres for noxious weeds. Eastern Idaho Cloud Seeding Project augmenting snow to increase ground and aquifer water supplies. 2013/2014 Season, Clark county and High Country RC&D operated 25 manual generators and Idaho Power operated 19 remote generators. According to ENCAR model reports the Cloud Seeding program has produced 190,000 acre feet of water. Moore Community Association project, their community center is being built.
