Hidden Harvest has saved 16 million pounds of food from going to waste, cleaned, packed and distributed it freely to tens of thousands of people across the county. They've won major awards for their outstanding efforts, and continue providing these excellent and much needed services in a community where 70% of children currently live in households below the poverty line.

I could post a thousand different glowing reviews of this place, but maybe this one from the Clinton Foundation should pretty much tell you how important this nonprofit really is...

Hidden Harvest is an INCREDIBLE organization that recuses MILLIONS of pounds of produce directly from farms, before it goes to waste. They are feeding TONS of people!

They also host really beautiful FREE farmers markets for seniors only! Last I checked, it was once or twice a month in several cities, I think palm springs, cathedral city, palm desert, indio.

They also go to schools to teach kids about healthy eating and lifestyle choices, along with other family-oriented free farmers market type events for low income families.

These guys really deserve a LOT more attention...they feed 52,000 people every month in the coachella valley! Holy guacamole!
