I spent two semester at the Hickok Center and had a great experience. I got to know the members and the staff very well and am proud to have been a part of the creation of evening programming at the center. This organization is an essential fixture for survivors of brain injury, who recieve the utmost respect and help with attaining their personal goals.
I had my first stroke in the summer of 1996,and my daughter was born that July.I first got to know the people at the Hickok Center when I had my seond stroke in 2004,and they helped me immensly by providing an opportunity for me to express my music,I used to teach percussion at Hilton High School, and I was also the Drumline Instructor so when I had my second stroke I lost the ability to express my playing. The Hickok center provided me the opportunity on how I could use my gifts to help others in that same way.I am now a member of the Hilton Generations Parade Band.Thats how Hickok center helped me in my time of need.
