I applied for a Female puppy and they denied it for the simple reason that my FEMALE dog wasn’t spayed. I provide the best care to my dog and we live in a 2.5 acres with no kids. RESCUE a dog shouldn’t be that difficult and less when the dog is not pure breed. WE ARE JUST TRYING TO SAVE A LIVE!!!

I was very excited to enquire about adopting a dog from this rescue, as a lifelong animal lover who lost all of her pets last year I was very excited to finally rescue a dog. I filled out the application with all of my info and they called the next day. I have never had someone speak to me in such a rude condescending way. I was shamed for not having a full time job and for living in the same house as my parents. If having a full time job Is a rule this rescue has that is fine, but the way this lady spoke to me was shocking. She continued to talk to me as if I was below her and said that she knows everyone needs a hand up sometimes, and that my fiancé could potentially inquire about a dog but she doesn’t know how she feels since he lives with me at my parents house, she continued to go on and on and say that it would have to be my money and not money that I borrowed from someone else including my fiancé that she said might divorce me?? I was just not expecting to be shamed and treated like a peasant or something from a dog rescue business. I have the means to go above and beyond to care for a pet and I am currently in the process of getting a dog elsewhere. I would not support this business under any circumstances as they clearly think of themselves as above others and from my experience don’t care too much about the animals

Back in late 2017 and early 2018, my partner and I decided it was time to add another dog to our home. We put in applications with a few rescues.

Hero Dog was one of those rescues. While the dogs we initially expressed interest in were already adopted or weren't quite a fit, the volunteers were so welcoming and understanding, they helped us get in contact with other fosters who possibly had matches for us. We were able to discuss what we were looking for and set up meet and greets.

The volunteers are compassionate, understanding and truly devoted to rescue. You will find nothing but inspiring dedication in this rescue and their volunteers.

We adopted our pup from Hero in 2018. He is silly, energetic, playful, loving and has a personality that fills a room. He got my into agility and I can dock dive with him!

I have Hero Dog to thank for uniting us, for rescuing him (his mother and the whole litter). He has taught me a lot and I wouldn't have that growth without Hero Dog.

I can't recommend them enough.
