Causes: Homeless & Housing, Housing Support
Mission: To educate the public about the proper techniques for the repair and maintenance of older and historical homes through seminars, presentations and individual technical assistance to homeowners and to assist homeowners in making architecturally appropriate repairs, additions and other changes to older and historic homes including preparation of construction specifications, recommendation of potential contractors, independent evaluation and advice on contractor bids, and administration of a low interest heritage home loan program.
Programs: Heritage home program - this program provides free technical assistance to homeowners in the repair and restoration projects of older and historic houses and access to low-interest historic preservation loans. As part of the program, hhes will hold the loan proceeds on behalf of the participant and pay the contractor directly once the historically correct construction has been completed and approved.
