Henrico CASA is a great organization helping to provide safe homes for abused and neglected children. I have been an ambassador for a year with Henrico CASA. Whether it is helping with fundraising, Henrico CASA is also great with training programs, volunteer programs, and many ways to help others learn more on how to help out. Kids are our future!

I am happy to volunteer for an organization that gives a voice to any child in Henrico County that has been abused or neglected. Our volunteers and staff believe in, and are committed to our mission.

CASA is an incredible organization that provides court appointed advocates to children in need by training and supporting community volunteers. The team at Henrico CASA is truly impressive in terms of their skills, experience, and qualifications. It is no surprise that individuals who volunteer to be a CASA in Henrico tend to stay a volunteer over a long period of time. Some even choose to advocate for more than one child at a time. The commitment and dedication of volunteers is no doubt attributed to the incredible Henrico CASA staff who train and support them.

When I first joined the board of directors, I did not realize what a top-notch organization this was--the staff and volunteers approach their work with commitment to children's welfare, caring for their clients, and true professionalism. From top to bottom, this group gets it done!

Henrico CASA is a fantastic non-profit. I've taken part in their annual Superhero Run and I have met many great people who donate time and money to this group. This non-profit group fills a vital need in our community and without this group many children would not have the support they need to navigate complicated court matters. I donate to this non-profit every chance I get.

I have been helping to raise money for CASA for a couple years. They help protect and mentor kids in unfortunate circumstances. I love doing the superhero run every year. This organization is just fantastic!

This program is amazing. They use the money raised to help abused/neglected children through the court system. It enables each child to have their own representive “Casa” in court. The “Casa” is trained to investigate all aspects of the child’s life and then write a report to the judge as to what is in the best interest of the child. They do an amazing job.

Henrico CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. This nonprofit works with children who have landed in the court system generally due to neglect or abuse. CASA's are the go between lawyers, social workers, counsellors, etc. THEY work with the families and children to get a clear picture of what is really happening in these situations. They spend countless hours gathering information so that THEY can be an advocate for the children who can't speak for themselves. And they are ALL volunteers. They are the unsung heroes who work everyday to ensure a positive outcome for these at risk children. CASA is run entirely on grants and donations. They do so much with so little.

Being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a truly rewarding experience. A CASA helps children who are in difficult situations through no fault of their own. Often their parents have not provided the love and support that any child is entitled to. Sometimes these children have been abused, either sexually, physically or emotionally. We investigate their situation and recommend to the Court what we believe is the best solution.

Some of these cases are disturbing. It is not always easy to prevent your emotions from getting the best of you. I try to stay calm and determine how I can best help the child.

Although it is not an easy volunteer position, I would recommend CASA to anyone who wants to help children in need.

I serve on the board for the Henrico County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and it has been a rewarding experience. It gives me great pride knowing my contributions to the board make a difference in the lives of the children in our county. The board strives to support CASA by raising awareness and funding for the increasing numbers of children who need representation in court proceedings. The Executive Director, Staff, and Volunteers of Henrico CASA go above and beyond each day for the abused and neglected children they advocate for. Donations to CASA will continue the mission and ensure the children on Henrico County, Virginia. Please consider supporting this vital organization by visiting www.henricocasa.org.

This is my 11th year of serving on the Board of Directors for HCASA. Obviously I would not continue to commit my time, energy and financial resources if I did not believe that the organization uses my gifts to maximum advantage to better the lives of children in need of help.

Henrico CASA is the rare non-profit which combines compassion for the abused and neglected children they serve with exceptionally high standards for their employees and volunteers. They have a direct impact on our community by improving the lives of the children who live here. Henrico's children are safer because of the efforts of a large group of dedicated volunteers and a small cadre of hard working staff members - there have been zero re-abuse cases of children assigned a CASA in Henrico. I can't think of a better nonprofit to support if you care about helping those who need it most - children who, through no fault of there own, require the protection of the Court.

Standing In The Gap. That is what Henrico CASA volunteers do every single day. Having served on the board for three years now, I have had the honor to observe and speak with these volunteers while they advocated for children that were either neglected and or abused. Their work is powerful, thoughtful, detailed and most importantly, valued by the children they serve. They work hard to improve and save the lives of those in need.

Granted, the volunteers are the face of Henrico CASA. However, without the experience and diligence of the administrative team to support their efforts, the challenges the face daily would be overwhelming.

Advocating for neglected and or abused children is a team sport. That is what my experience with Henrico CASA has been. I have been a part of a team. A team dedicated to Stand In The Gap and create WINS for our children in need.

I have been a volunteer with Henrico CASA for 3+ years and wouldn't trade it for any volunteer experience in the world. It's been an absolutely positive experience. Besides doing the wonderful work that the entire CASA office does, a special shout-out to Barbara and Jeanine (my personal CASA supervisor), and the entire staff. The volunteers couldn't do their work without such wonderful, loving, caring, and diligent staff!!!

I have been volunteering with Henrico CASA for about 4 years now. Working so closely with a nonprofit has provided me the pleasure of both understanding and observing how invaluable the services are that CASA provides. Being a voice for a vunerable child can change the course of a life. CASA is not just a nonprofit, CASA is a life changer, and that is because of the amazing men and women that are behind the lines volunteering and encouraging and guiding volunteers. Today I am giving CASA 5 stars, because I know if I were a child in need, CASA would be there to advocate for me! I highly recommend this oranization both to work with, to vounteer with , and to support! Thank you CASA for all that you do and all that you are!

I've been a CASA in both Richmond City and now Henrico. The paid staff are smart and helpful and supportive, and the other volunteers are the kind of folks you'd like to spend time with even if you weren't working with them in Henrico CASA. The training is well organized and carefully aimed at the real issues new volunteers will be dealing with. As a CASA, will you solve all the world's problems forever? No. Will you make a real difference for kids who otherwise would not have a person whose only focus is on trying to figure out what's best for them? Yes. Will people in authority -- judges, social workers, teachers -- respect what you do and pay real attention to your recommendations? Definitely. Will you make a real difference? Yes, you will.
