Causes: Arts & Culture, Single Organization Support
Mission: The henning landmark center celebrates and promotes the artistic creativity & industry of our surrounding communities.
Programs: Grant funding was raised for operating support to pay a portion of utilities, directors salary, and upgrade the facility. In addition,several grants were received for various art workshops, demonstrations, and equipment. These workshops included: blacksmithing, glass blowing, ink painting, community stitching project, and more. Through a strategic initiatitive we raised donations to help improve our facility by adding a second bathroom (2017 funds) and an emergency stairway (2016 funds). Our facility is now licensed to host 10 guests overnight, with five furnished bedrooms. Our facility makes a great retreat.
artists fees paid for cultural activities held at the community center. Our center provides a place for artists to use as a worhshops where many differnt art mediums can be craftd or taught and or displyaed as exhibits. For example, through a legacy grant that was received in 2017, the center purchased a kiln and other related equipment which has allowed the center to schedule a local cermanic artist to perform a free demonstration this summer as well as a multi-day workshop.
